From looking at other reviews, I thought this restaurant would be good, but trust me, it’s not. The food was very bland and it took two hours to be served. We went on a Saturday night and come to find out, there was only 1 lady running the entire restaurant. One lady was not only the hostess, but also the server and the cook for the restaurant. I’m not sure if that’s even sanitary. This place also has no alcohol license. I won’t be coming back again.

This place is great! I had the salmon tagine and it was delicious. I also tasted the roast chicken tagine, the lamb kabobs, the lentil fritters and a side of couscous. All were good, but I think the salmon, the lamb and the lentil fritters were my favorite; the lamb was some of the best I’ve ever had. Nouzha was our server and she was super nice. Highly recommended!

Just had dinner here. We had the vegetable tajine and the chicken tajine and soup. It was all wonderfully prepared with an olive and lemon hint. I think the secret was in using preserved lemons and green olives. I intend to work through the menu one entire at a time. The menu is changed about every six months… I should have time. The lamb tajine and chicken bastille are next. The service was great and the atmosphere warm and inviting. A friendly place.

I’ve been to this place twice. I can’t believe this place is not busier on weekend nights. We ordered Mint tea, Moroccan lamb sausage and salmon tajine. Everything was delicious and fairly priced. For the amount of food you get — I think the prices are just right. Service is good and fits the chill vibe of the place. Waiter was very friendly and accommodating. It was cold out and he let us take a table even though the whole party was not present. If you’re in Somerville, this an affordable food option which is worth a try. Very underrated.

Moroccan cuisine is really under represented in Boston so we’re really happy to have the Morroccan Hospitality restaurant so near to our house. The restaurant lives up to it’s name: it’s a nice place to relax and the service was friendly and personal. The mint tea was great, the tagines were tasty and reasonably priced, although you’ll need to order your couscous as a side. We’ll definitely be back again soon!

3.5 stars. The chicken bastilla was really good and unique and I would go back to the restaurant again for that dish. However, other stuff like lamb tajine and eggplant sides were really meh. Nice ambience and family-type service but overall a so-so to good experience.

I wanted to like it so much more than I did. The décor is warm and welcoming and the server was so nice, and some of the food was absolutely delicious. But they needed more than one person serving(on a Friday evening!), and some of the food wasn’t anything worth getting in a restaurant. The chicken bastilla appetizer was definitely the best thing we had; I would go there just for that. The eggplant side dish was also tasty. The vegetable tagine was a big disappointment though — I’m pretty sure all the vegetables were frozen or canned. The chicken tagine was good. It would have been nice to know that you have to order couscous or rice separately with the tagines. Overall, I’d give it another try, but probably only get meat dishes.

Went here early on a Saturday night, around 6pm. Loved our meal. I had the lamb tajine. A lamb shank — moist, tender, served with prunes studded with almonds and dusted with sesame seeds. Simple, but beautiful presentation. Husband had the chick pea/lentil soup. He thought it was a bit salty but I thought it was OK. Pehaps could go a tiny bit lighter on the salt. For his main, he had the grilled chicken brochettes. Also very moist and tasty. The sides were good, and we both loved the avocado shake. Something we’ve never tried before. A plate of cookies was the only dessert offered. Three kinds, all homemade. All very different and delicious. Note: there is no liquor/beer/wine license. And, can’t bring in a bottle. But, we still would definitely go back. Want to try the bastilla, couscous and other items on the menu. Service was great.

I want to like this place and I gave few other chances to go back and take freinds, but I was very disapointed how the food was tasted, It seemed just can food and artificial flavors . sorry my best experience with moroccan food was something to die for in the past, I will never go back .to bad lost bunch of people.

I went to this restaurant because the Globe wrote it up as a special place. I have nothing good to say about it. The person who served us seemed bored. There were very few menu items available on the already limited menu and the food we had was terrible. We really couldn’t eat it. My guest was in from out of town and it was embarrassing.

This place is awesome. I even created a Unilocal account just to share that with the entire world! The name of the restaurant couldn’t describe it better. The hospitality there is at a level I have rarely encountered. Nouzha is such a nice and welcoming person. And the food is real Moroccan food, full of flavor, generous and just like in Moroccan(I should know, I grew up in Morocco). The restaurant itself is very nice, the atmosphere great… No long wait between the services. And even if there was I wouldn’t have minded just relaxing on the seats as they are so comfortable. Anyway, at that time it was my first time eating in a Moroccan restaurant(outside Morocco) as I’ve always been scared of disappointment, and I can say that there was absolutely no disappointment! In a nutshell, diner at Moroccan Hospitality was the highlight of my birthday on such a cold Bostonian day! Thanks for the birthday dessert!

I have been to this place last weekend The place is nice, clean and quiet. The service is good too but the food is not nice. Especially the lamb and beef they use. The lamb is really big so they use an old lamb sheep for the price. I ordered the lamb cuscus and it was horrible. The vegetables were not cooked well. Harera was too salty. They should instead let the customers add the salt as needed. The reviews come from people who do not know a lot about the morracan food. They use a very cheap meat and ingredients.

This one was a surprise. We didn’t really plan it, we just showed up, not knowing what to expect and OMG, they have such amazing food! I had the lamb tajini and a friend had the lamb kebabs and they were amazingly delicious. Will definitely return! They don’t have a lot of costumers — at least not in a week night — so it may feel awkward to have the place to yourself but on the other hand, that makes service really fast!

So, I developed a thing for Chicken B’stilla ever since I first enjoyed the appetizer at Tangierino in Charlestown. A wish to recreate my memories of that tender, flakey, savory yet cinnamony dish led me to Baraka Café in Central Square. But hopes were dashed as theirs did not compare. I first became aware of Moroccan Hospitality Restaurant when I did an online search of chicken bastilla in the area, back when they were located in Malden. So once they moved to Somerville in 2014, I became ever more hopeful of the opportunity to one day visit them and to sample their chicken bastilla. Well, one day finally came. I grabbed a cohort in consumption and headed on over early one Friday eve. Their menu was unlike the one found online, but at least the longed for chicken app was still there. The Almond Shake(with orange blossom water, raisins and dates) $ 5.99 resembled a milk shake with its frothy top. It arrived in a rather small goblet, but the flavor made the portion plenty. I’m glad I tried it, but it wasn’t to my taste. Maybe I’m just not an orange blossom water kind of girl. A nice sliced yellow bread arrived with an olive spread along with the Chicken Bastilla $ 7.99(chicken and almonds wrapped in phyllo dough baked to perfection), a domed phyllo wrapped concoction decorated with a dusting of powdered sugar and cinnamon. The phyllo was crisp, thin, and delicate, the filling dense and tasty. My DC loved it, as did I, though I suspect still that Tangierino’s version might still be number one in my heart of hearts. It was plenty to share as an appetizer for 2 – 3, though I could have been happy consuming it all on my lonesome. For our entrees, we elected to share a hot dish and a sandwich. The Brania sandwich $ 7.99(slow cooked braised beef served in Moroccan flat bread and fried eggplants) arrived as a half loaf of the same bread, sliced open into a pocket like a pita, and filled with tender beef and soft eggplant. The Lamb Couscous with Vegetables $ 16.99 was a generous portion. A meaty leg and large chunk chopped vegetables topped the plate of couscous. The lamb was tender but rather gamey, the vegetables retained a nice bite, but it wasn’t the most flavorful dish. Dinner was good, but we were in agreement that the sole dish worth a repeat was the chicken bastilla. Sadly, they do not offer dessert. Service was personal and friendly. The dining room warm and inviting, and cushion-filled. The walk from the Porter Square T stop was convenient on a nice day, as was street parking just outside the restaurant. 3.5 stars.

Relaxing and colorful atmosphere. Recently relocated from Malden to Somerville. Bread is served with an olive and chickpea spread, kin to an olive tapenade mixed with hummus. Order some mint tea and enjoy the tajines. Brania is served piping hot with a delicate mix of braised beef, eggplant, saffron, garlic, preserved lemon in a ginger sauce. The beef is tender and pairs well with the eggplant as the eggplant almost blends into the meat. M-Rouzia is sweet and savory, braised lamb(on the bone) with a sauce of juicy raisins, sesame seeds, toasted large nuts, saffron, and Moroccan spices. The dish is hearty and delicious.

I had very high hopes for Moroccan Hospitality Restaurant — unfortunately it appears that the bar should have been set a bit lower. While the food was reasonably good(not nearing the quality of Café Paprika in Norwood) the ‘issue’ i had was with the unbelievably slow service. I’m not sure if our server was new to the role, or was trying really hard to be overly friendly, but it felt like every time we approached the table, we needed to prepare of a 15 minute conversation. I’m all for friendly small-talk, but there is a point where you’ve had enough. After our order was(finally) placed, it took quite some time for our meals to arrive — i probably would have been more forgiving of this if not for the wait to order. Why, you might ask, am i giving this place 3 stars? The food was still pretty quality, and have been known to exhibit signs of an impatient east-coaster. Your mileage may vary.

Hospitatlity is a great place for a relaxing and tasty dinner. I had the lamb tangine(M-Rouzia) while my wife had a boiled/steamed lamb couscous with vegetables. Both were excellent. While the tangine was so flavorful, the lamb with couscous was simply lamb cooked to perfection. One thing you should note about the lamb couscous: the couscous seems to be infused with some goat cheese. It was a little strong for our taste so we recommend that you ask about it. We also had the lamb and prunes cigars, and the zaalouk, both of which were excellent. Plus there is ample mint tea and excellent service.

After reading the glowing reviews on Unilocal and craving a new go-to Moroccan restaurant, I was super excited to visit Moroccan Hospitality and went out of my way to make a reservation on a Friday night. Upon our arrival at 7pm, we found the restaurant mostly empty, but a very warm server greeted us at the door. We started off with the chicken bastilla, which was the high point of the evening. Perfectly executed crust, chicken with the right spices — a great dish that didn’t need 48 hours notice as other restaurants ask for when making this time –intensive Moroccan classic. However, our main course and the painfully slow service left much to be desired — making me question the numerous reviews that exclaim«impressive!» I don’t usually write 1 star reviews, but I left the restaurant thoroughly disappointed and depressed at how much we spent. We ordered one tajine with beef and eggplant — extremely salty, almost to the point of being unable to swallow at 13.99 — ouch. We didn’t even bother taking the extensive left-overs home. For our second dish, we ordered lamb couscous with vegetables at $ 15.99. Unfortunately, this dish didn’t have any flavor at all. The lamb leg, while extremely large and not too gamey, had virtually no taste. The vegetables looked like they were boiled too long including the cabbage drained of any color and the soft carrots. The only good part was the couscous, which I could have made for a 1.99 box from Trader Joe’s. I found myself wondering if the chef was off for the night. Besides the deficit in the food, our waitress, while extremely sweet, was extremely slow, to the point of leaving us waiting for 30 minutes to swipe our credit card, after waiting 20 minutes to clear our table turning an unpleasant meal into a 2 hour affair. We tried to flag her down, but she kept on making small talk to another table about how great their choices of menu items were, while leaving us exasperated. We just wanted to leave. I felt bad as she seemed to be the only waitress as the tables filled up and a woman in the kitchen kept yelling her name, but if you’re going to be open on a Friday night, hire more than one waitress or at least try to keep a better system of managing tables. Overall, a frustrating experience and I will not be returning.

Saw the awesome ratings on Unilocal… decided to give it a try… We managed to get a table after 15min wait on a Saturday evening(though we didn’t have a reservation). Our server was sweet — she gave us menus to look over while we waited. The atmosphere was comfy with long cushioned benches on the walls, decorated toss pillows, mixed shape tables(square vs. round) and dimly lit. While the service was on point — the timing of the food was pretty slow — long wait. We ordered the following appetizers to share: — Maakouda — mash potato patties, mild in flavor — Veggie cigars — tastes like a Moroccan version of the spring roll except with phyllo crust — Spicy chicken wings — tasted premade because it was served lukewarm with the inside cold For our entrees, we decided to try: — Chicken with raisins and onion — Lamb with vegetables — Fish Tajine All entrees were cooked and served in a hot casserole dish. The fish(salmon) was covered with tomatoes, slightly overcooked and mild in seasoning. As for the chicken, it was way overcooked to the point the dark meat was dry and stringy. It didn’t have much seasoning either. The lamb dish was acceptable but also lacking in flavor. Honestly — if I had to rate the food it would be about 2 stars but amped it up to 3 stars for the service.

Great first experience for traditional moroccan food! The restaurant consists of many small tables surrounding the perimeter with cushiony pillows along the wall. Very cozy place and dimly lit for a romantic night or perfect to catch up with your girl friend. The portions are very large so the entrees are great for sharing. This place is such a great deal for what you pay for. BEEFCIGARS.($ 6) OMG wow, these were exceptional! It was like a mix of baklava and a sweet, yet savory taquito. The outside was perfectly flakey and crispy. The inside consisted of ground beef with raisins and cinnamon. Sounds like an interesting mix, but it was delicious. You gotta get this! Lamb Tangine($ 16) with vegetables or prunes. I would say Tangine is like a stew? We got it with vegetables(peas, green olives, artichoke hearts). This was a huge leg of lamb with meat so juicy and tender that falls off the bone. A great combo of savory, yet slightly sweet flavor. Chicken Couscous($ 14) is also very tastyyyy, tender and juicy. A whole leg of chicken served on top of very fine couscous and garbanzo beans. The caramelized onion on top of the chicken adds a great flavor to the dish. mm yum.
