Ordered Los Paisanos through Foodler for the second time this evening. As we were eating the nachos, we saw melted holes all over the bottom of the plastic container… meaning somehow the plastic melted during our consumption which meant we had been eating plastic. The plastic surrounding the holes was brittle and the crunchiness could have easily been misconstrued as chips when munching. We are extremely concerned about having eaten plastic and will never order from here again.

I love this place. It is around the corner from my house. The food is always fresh and hot when delivered. Whenever I add a food modifier, they are very accommodating. Some of my favorite things are the nachos with beef, and the chicken taquitos. I cannot wait to try more of their food!

Ordered delivery from here and my boyfriend and I were quite pleased. The pupusas were excellent, though we preferred the pork and cheese over the spinach. They needed a bit of moisture however and were infinitely better with some hot sauce and/or salsa. I got the Guatemalan churrasco and the boy got the Salvadoran churrasco. Both were very good with flavorful meat and I loved the plantains that came with mine. Both came with fresh homemade tortillas that were really delicious. Overall a ridiculous amount of food for 2 people, very much worth the price. Downsides were that delivery took forever(almost an hour and a half and we ordered fairly early on a weekday) and my boyfriend didn’t care for the sides that came with his, he said the rice, beans, and french fries(which didn’t even appear to come with his order) were bland. Also our food came with a variety of sauces that we have no idea what they were or what they were supposed to go with and couldn’t figure it out by looking at the menu. Good experience overall, and I’m looking forward to my leftovers which will last me for at least 2 more meals!

Should’ve listened to the other reviews. Food was terribly bland. Got tacos and an chimichanga. Everything tasted the same, no difference between rice, meat, cheese. And it wasn’t an overly appetizing taste. Had about 1⁄3 of the chimichange and 3 bites of one taco. No chance I’ll order from them again.

i have ordered delivery from los paisanos a few times. once i got the nachos and those were great. but also i have noticed that they put peas and small carrot pieces in their burritos, quesadillas, etc. which i do not like. my boyfriend thinks maybe the peas and carrots are in their rice. regardless, it’s weird and it’s not right.

Came here on the East Broadway Foodie Crawl and got buttered noodles with broccoli. While I love that, not what I expected here. And it needed cheese. Guy was super excited to be serving it!

I’ve ordered delivery from here 3 times now and the pork & cheese papousa, chicken tamales and chicken & steak tacos are some of the best I’ve had in the area and the green chili sauce is hot & delicious. The delivery had been super fast, the food always arrives hot and the prices are great. This is my new go to spot!

I was excited to hear they have baleadas, so I got two baleadas with carne. It was gross and didn’t taste like baleadas. I hardly ate half of one and couldn’t keep eating it. I rather wait until I have the chance to go to Chelsea. I ended up getting a pupusa instead! Mehhh no so good. No sure if I will be back.

I have only eaten their food as delivery, but it has consistently been some of the best Salvadorian food I have ever eaten. The pupusas are cheesy and flavorful, their horchata is some of the best I’ve had(and not too thick!), the yucca chips with chiccaron(columbian style) are absolutely fantastic and their burritos are large and well priced. I think some of the discrepancies in poorer reviews is that people are approaching this wonderful restaurant expecting Mexican cuisine. I can’t wait to go in and try their menu in house sometime soon. Delivery has been speedy and friendly, and they have been excellent with special requests or needs for additional or different sauces. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I think some of the reviewers on this list may want to revisit and update, because woah, there’s a discrepancy as to some of the reviews and what I’ve experienced. We’ve eaten in, and gotten take out, and both were really great. I had the three taco plate and sat at a table and then tonight I got a chimichanga and and it was GOOD. The sides? Also delicious! $ 8 got me a huge chimichanga, a side salad with tomato, radish, and cucumbers, a container of the smoothest and most heavenly refried beans I’ve ever tasted, guacamole, and rice with mixed vegetables. $ 8. A huge amount of food, and good food, at that. The chicken in the chimichanga was really flavorful, and the shell was not at all greasy. The beans were my favorite and were smooth, slightly runny in texture, and I am pretty sure it involved chicken stock that thinned it out. They didn’t taste sticky or greasy, just smooth and so good. I think I might be obsessed. Service both times I’ve been in, plus my experience stopping in for a tamale during the East Somerville Main Streets Foodie Crawl, have been super positive and the staff has been really friendly. I think I am going to try out a burrito from here, and I suspect it’ll likely be my new spot!

My husband and I ordered online via . We got a pork and cheese pupusa, plantains, and the Platos Los Paisanos to try a little of everything. The pupusa was lovely and the vinegar slaw was a nice compliment to it. The skirt steak in the platos was nicely seared and had a tasty marinade. The plantains were just the right combo of sweet and tangy. The chicharon had excellent crunchy skin. And though it’s a small thing, the tomato slices in the Platos dish tasted like tomatoes. As opposed to the wet cardboard flavor you often get in take-out food. Both of us are big fans of this kind of authentic Mexican food over Tex-mex, and this proved to be a very good representation. Overall the dishes were a little heavy on salt to us, but we find a lot of restaurant food to be salty. Delivery was estimated at 45 minutes(and for a Friday night at 7pm that’s about average), and that was pretty accurate. Everything arrived hot and smelling wonderful, and for $ 30 including delivery and tip, this is somewhere we plan to order from again.

Completely agree with Andy T. This was some of the grossest food I’ve(kind of) eaten. I just had some food delivered via Foodler. We got a baleda, a chicken tamale and a pork burrito. The Baleda was OK. I almost choked on the bones and cartilage that I discovered in the chicken tamale. The pork burrito was just plain terrible. No reason to go or order from there with Anna’s Taqueria around.

Came in here for dinner on a Friday night around 8pm and the place was pretty empty. During dinner we saw two delivery guys coming in and out more than once so it’s clear the delivery business is their focus. With people finishing meals at two separate tables as we got there, our food was the only order of food there and it seemed to take a whole lot longer than you would have expected. Start to finish we were there for well over an hour, nothing too crazy, just one entrée each and 2 pupusas. The pupusas were nice and I ordered the burrito which was surprisingly bland. Thank you to the bottle of hot sauce on the table. The other entrée was grilled fish and that was really tasty. Not terrible but not amazing. Might give the delivery a shot next time around.

I live in the neighborhood, and ate here only once sometime in the fall of ’06. I love Mexican and Salvadorian food and am down for culinary adventures but I can’t bring myself to go back. The one meal I had here was just totally gross, nothing good about it at all. Not that it made me sick or anything, it simply had all the wrong flavors and none of the right ones. To give them the benefit of the doubt, I only ate here once, and it may have been a bad day, or I may have ordered the wrong thing. And, I am notoriously spoiled when it comes to Mexican and Salvadorian food, having lived in San Francisco’s Mission District for three years. But the meal I had was really bad. That, and the fact that the place tends to be the emptiest of all the Salvadorian joints in the neighborhood, keep me away. The few good reviews on here make me wonder if I should go back and give the place a second chance, and maybe I will. But I doubt it.
