We went here for a team lunch. It was a nice little place with 20 or so tables I would say. I enjoyed the décor that was in the restaurant. I really admired how the restaurant was setup given the size. The service was good and the food came out in a timely matter. For appetizers, I tasted the Greek style meatballs and stuffed grape leaves. The meatballs were very solid. 8 came to an order. The tzatziki sauce was a nice touch with these beef meatballs. They were perfectly cooked. The stuffed grape leaves were decent. I was not thrilled with the filling or the sauce that accompanied these. I ordered the seabass fillet for my lunch entrée. The entrée came with a chicken soup, which was fabulous. It was a thick broth with tender pieces of chicken, noodles with some vegetables. The bowl was of good size too. The fish was cooked in a tomato sauce and was accompanied by dill, spinach, and Vidalia onions. There were 2 large pieces of fish. I was very happy with the portion size and surprised given it was for lunch. The fish was cooked to perfection and the sauce was tasty. There were also chunks of tomato too. My only complaint was the spinach. It was hardly cooked. I like my spinach cooked all the way through. Will I go back? No doubt.

HORRIBLE! They can’t even make Saganaki! I have never had bad Saganaki in any Greek restaurant but Somehow Kyma managed to screw it up. It was like we ordered a cold cheese platter!. The main courses were so bland with NO flavor! I don’t understand all the good reviews??? Don’t waste your money! So disappointed!

There are a lot of great reviews for Kyma but my experience for lunch was so-so. Food wasn’t bad but my salad didn’t have one olive! The crust for the spanakopita was different than what I’m used to… not sure if it was fillo dough but it was really soft, not flaky like I expected.

Went with the family for the first time the Ambiance is great and the food is awesome. Tirokafteri spread is a MUST have along with falafel. We will be returning often.

Have eaten here twice. If you know and/or have been to authentic true Greek restaurants you will know this is not really one of those places. They DO have some tasty dishes but when my lamb shank came out cold on the inside twice after sending it back I realized it was probably not fresh and prepared from a frozen state. The interior/ambiance is very nice though. I like being there. It is worth a try but I most likely wont be going back because the food did not impress me. Service was always fine so no issue there.

Food was slightly above average, but was very disappointed with service. I felt like when the waiter knew my partner and I were ordering all Meze for dinner, he tuned out, never came back to check on us, and we’re left to flag down other servers as he entertained larger tables. Tables are on top of one another, and host was on his phone as we walked in. Probably won’t return unless in the neighborhood for carryout. ;-/

Giving two stars because the place is clean and decorated nicely. Otherwise, as a party of four and one of two seated tables, we waited 20 minutes for our lunch after ordering, which came out staggered. I ordered the falafel platter. Came with 7 very small, over-cooked falafel balls on a plate, a chipotle dipping sauce, a sliced pita, a plain side salad, and some french fries. Wasn’t what I was expecting for a platter at a restaurant and I’ve made better falafel on my own with a store-bought powder. I will say my colleague ordered a salad with salmon which looked good. Probably won’t be returning.

The food is great! I’ve never been to a greek food place before, so i don’t know how authentic any of the food is, but I have loved everything I’ve had here. The outdoor seating is really nice and the service is always friendly. My favorite is the chicken gyros, they are so good!

Been here 3 times. Each time always had a seafood appetizer or main entrée. Bottom line Kyma is a mediocre greek restaurant with not so tasty food. They really need to clean their silverware and improve the quality of their food. If you want an authentic cuisine, this is not your spot. Servers are nice, they have nice décor with great location. These are the only positives… unfortunately. Will not be back and not recommended.

Sat outside on a lovely Thursday evening. kyma did not disappoint. Service was in point, deconstructed gyro entrée was excellent, my daughter had the phyllo scallop and risotto and raved about it. Warm pita and roasted red pepper hummus on every table excellent… Wonderful experience… Only constructive criticism… Get rid of the fresh fish on ice at the entrance… It smells fishy not fresh… Still loved it…

This place is Fantastic! It tasted as if the Greek owners Yia Yia was in the kitchen cooking with all her love for her own family. Red pepper and feta spread — it was tasty. More feta than I expected but tasty. Spanakopita — this was good. I am partial to a family members version better that I grew up on but this one had a great taste. Chicken/pork skewers — this plate was delicious. Cooked perfectly and came with rice, salad, and tzatziki! The Tzatziki is amazing! I’ll definitely be coming back again.

We went the night before Mothers Day and were greeted by the owner who apologized several times about the wait. He escorted us to a lovely outside table. The menu was a mix of traditional Greek and more modern cuisine. We went with two appetizers and three main dishes. If I had to do it again it would’ve been all of the small course dishes and had more of a range of delights! Had phyllo dough with feta cheese. Had to Greek traditional casserole. Lamp shank and shrimp with orzo. dinner was complete with a complementary round of Greek Liquor. It was the most wonderful way to spend Mother’s Day. They made every effort to make us feel special. What absolute return again!

Been there more times than I’d like to admit. I am hooked on the food! I feel like I have sampled all of this menu in one way or another. Portions are very generous so keep that in mind when ordering appetizers. You can a make a meal of them on their own. BYOB which is a plus! THEOUZO/FIG ICECREAM! I want to bathe in it. Enough said! The atmosphere is very, very loud. Not sure if it’s the layout or acoustics alone but you can barely hear the person next to you. The décor is clean and modern but the furniture needs some upgrading. Every time I’ve been there, someone had to stabilize the rockiness of the tables with a folded napkin or utensil. Awkward. I’m looking forward to getting back there. It’s definitely worth a try! I doubt the food will disappoint.

Ive been to this restaurant a few times and it never disappoints. It is in a great location in Somerville on Main Street. The atmosphere is unique. Great lighting and seating. The staff has always been friendly. It is a BYO restaurant but they do sell bottles there from a local winery, Old York Cellars. The spreads are great. The octopus salad was the best salad I’ve ever had. The octopus was cooked to perfection. The beef and lamb gyro platter was delicious. Portions are generous. I usually bring home leftovers. You can really taste how fresh the ingredients are. It’s authentic Greek cuisine with a modern twist.

Came here for dinner with a girlfriend on a Monday night. The restaurant was very empty — only 2 other tables. I’m sure the ambiance would have been better if it was just a little bit more crowded. The service was very good, we had a lovely waiter who was pleasant and attentive. To start we had the meatball special stuffed with feta, it was really good highly recommend! They also give you very good grilled pita bread to start with a radish(?) spread. Was not a huge fan of the spread but still a very nice touch. I had the lamb shank to start, the meat itself was good but not great — the orzo that came with it was not very good it tasted floury somehow… We were too full for dessert. Oh yea and this place is byob which is pretty awesome.

It’s been two years since my last review of Kyma, so an update seems appropriate. My wife and I are both foodies; Kyma is in our«top five power rotation» of places to eat in the Somerset area. We stop by four or five times a year — which is a lot for us since we dine out only twice a month on average. Service and food are consistently good. Only reason that we don’t go more often is I need to try new places for Unilocal. The Greek dishes are consistently good. Salmon is excellent as is the branzino. My personal favorites are the Shrimp with Artichoke Risotto and the Xristos Scallops with Asparagus Risotto. Best risottos that I have had lately. Décor reminds me of a trip to Greece. Background music is Greek. The servers used to be all Greek when Kyma first opened; not so much now; but the staff is professional and does not disappoint. Worth a trip.
