I had one of my most terrible experiences with Highland pizza. I had asked for a large pepperoni pizza with a diet coke and I received Hawaiian pizza with a regular coke. When I asked even for a refund, they refused to give back my money. Absolutely careless and irresponsible!

Meh. I live really close by, and that’s pretty much the only endorsement I can give them. The pizza is good, but nothing that special. To be honest, you can probably get more for your money at Domino’s, and receive a meal that’s pretty much the same. They have other good looking options on the menu too, but they are all a bit pricier especially compared to the pizza, so again, Domino’s may be a better choice in any case. Not sure that I’d go back, unless I was in the mood for just a quick slice on my way home, in which case this is not a bad option at all.

Pasta with chicken parm was slightly bland. But that was not the main problem. The delivery service was horrible. Delivery guy went on and on over the phone how he was lost. He soon came to the conclusion that he was in another town; had to wait even longer. Overall: Food — «C» Service — «D-» Recommend — «People who haven’t eaten all day»

Ordered the chicken parm, Buffalo bites, and 3 pizza’s. The chicken parm was very nice and cheesy. Barbecue chicken pizza has just the right amount of barbecue sauce. Alot of other places over do it. We also ordered the Meat lovers. This hit the spot since we were craving some meat. If you have a large group you are better off ordering take-out since there is just two counters inside. The cheesecake is also excellent if your in the mood for dessert. I’m definitely coming back to try some of the other subs and specialty pizzas.

Ordered two pizzas neither were good but one was worse. I ordered the white and asked for tomatoes to be added. My husband picked them up so didn’t realize it was wrong(no tomatoes) Supposed to have ricotta and garlic which must have disappeared before we got it because it was so thin and dry I barely knew their was cheese. The basil was dried spice put on each piece like a dime(a lump) and I believe it may have been the worse pizza I’ve ever attempted to eat as I promptly spit out the bite I of dried spice I put in my mouth. The other was edible as my husband was starving but he said it was dry and bland had one slice(of a large) and they both went into the garbage. My husband eats everything so this should speak loudly. Lots of pizza joints in Boston trust me try another!

Just grabbed a take-out pizza from Highland Pizza last night. Based on the Unilocal reviews, I ordered a half pepperoni, half barbeque chicken. I arrived and was greeted by the counter guy immediately. The place was bright and spotless. There were several teenagers at the counter, eating and watching the mounted television. The pizza topping was delicious — the pepperoni was thick enough to taste like actual meat; the chicken pieces were seriously yummy and plentiful; the cheese was melt-y and not very greasy. The crust was basic but good(I am more a fan of either a crispy-thin crunchy crust or a stand-on-its-own flavorful bread-y crust). I eat pizza at least once a week. I like Olympic Pizza’s(in Arlington) winter white; Domino’s thin crust; Beauty’s(in Cambridge) anything. Based on ease of ordering, speed, parking convenience(there’s almost always an open spot for a few minutes on the street), taste, value, and staff pleasantness, I will indeed be grabbing a to-go pizza from Highland again.

New favorite! Well, not that new anymore… but they’re great. Pizza is thin-ish crust with a great flavor, and toppings are sooo creative and good.(They do occasionally stray into knife and fork territory due to how much gets piled on top, though.) Wings are SOINCREDIBLYDELICIOUS. Get the three-cheese pizza, btw. I think it involves garlic butter and magic. They’ve got a very good order system that remembers your phone number so you don’t have to repeat your address every time; they made us feel like regulars the second time we ordered, and I really appreciate that. Always wicked nice on the phone and in person, too. I’m just taking off a star because it takes forever for delivery(always 45 – 60 min), but we’ll be regulars here for a long while to come, I’m sure.

Their pizza and calzones are reallllly good. Other stuff on their menu is hit or miss. Wasn’t a fan of the steak and cheese or the chicken caesar wrap which kind of seemed like chicken salad was in it and it was cold. I like a caesar salad with hot grilled chicken when I order a chicken caesar wrap. The alfredo was usually good but a couple times was bad. Garlicky, creamy and heavy though. The fried shrimp plate is really yummy too — large portions.

It’s extremely difficult to give a convenience store a 5-star score based solely on their pizza, but in the end it is the pizza that everyone comes back for. I have to admit, they do make great pizza. As for toppings, everyone has a preference. My review highlights the elements that back up my claim that they make some of the best pizza in Somerville. To me, a great pizza needs three solid ingredients: cheese, sauce, and dough. The balance between all three is maintained at this shop. The crust is crunchy, but has a chewy factor to it that does not overwhelm the slice. The sauce-to-cheese ratio is perfect. I’m not going to go high and mighty on this shop, because authentic Italian pizza has flavors unexplained by average ingredients. As for American pizza, these guys do very well. Try the half-pepperoni/half-bbq chicken variety, and tell me if you feel the same way. As for the shop, the workers are really nice, and they love their regulars. The place is swarmed with preteens after school and awkward elders after hours, but it’s a small price to pay for good pizza. I’d stay away from the sandwiches unless you know what you’re asking for. Everything else is ¾ stars.

Delicious, gigantic calzones!!! I especially recommend the chicken/bacon/ranch, so so amazing. Their salads are also really good. My husband and I order take out from here at least once every two weeks. The delivery people are always super nice and friendly. We love love love Highland M and recommend to all!

Really nice people work here… and delivery has always been fast and accurate. Pizza has always been pretty good but the Sweet BBQ wings are amazing(especially when asked to have them well done; as they are a bit crunchier). The Steak and Cheese with provolone is really good as well.

Have to state up front that I live just up the street which makes this pizzeria/convenience store my default take out pizza option. That being said however, they do make a good pie. Clean, fast, decent cheap pizza. Not greasy either. Other food is good too. They do breakfast. And they’re halal too, if you’re into that. Also the family that runs this place are nice people. Give it a shot.

This review is the combination of the food and service/accessibility. Really it is a 2.5 — I would rate is somewhere between«Meh, I’ve had better» and«A-OK.» They stayed inside the delivery window and the food was reasonable in price. I really wish Unilocal offered star ratings for various type of things: quality of service, food, accessibility, etc. I can’t lie — being able to order food online at 9:45PM on a Sunday from picking the restaurant to completing payment is nice! Unfortunately, food was not entirely worth ordering. The fries were soggy, the burger seemed to be nothing special and the pizza was lackluster at best(the sauce was awkwardly salty, and the meat on it was cold/not fresh). Perhaps they pass off anyone who would order food at 9:45PM on a Sunday near a university as someone with the munchies and don’t give it their all… who knows?! This place MAY(or may not) be worth actually going to — to see if the freshness was simply a deliver of late evening delivery, but if you have other options you might try those first. Highland Market Pizza seems to be more like settling(and we all know a girl should NEVER settle…) Highland Market Pizza has a large variety of options — NOT just pizza, so just about anyone should be able to find something they like here.

This place is a convenient store that has a take-out counter inside. If you venture in you will see the typical convenient store counter, complete with a wall of lotto tickets, porn magazines, and bored clerk. Hubby and I came here for the first time to order a pizza to go. They have an extensive take-out menu that consists of the standard pizza-place fare such as subs, burger plates, even breakfast. Hubby was feeling adventurous that day, so on a whim he casually added on a side order of buffalo wings. After we ordered, we sat on the barstools by the counter to watch the comings and goings of the various oddballs that frequent dis Indian-run joint. Observation while waiting for large cheese pizza: Two teens wander in and peer into the glass case that holds the pre-cut pizza slices. One says in a surprised voice, «Wow, they actually don’t look that bad.» Hm, this is interesting. Does the pizza usually look bad here, or is this his first time here and he’s excited that the pizza looks good? And, more importantly, what does this mean for me? Well, here’s what it means: I get home, open the box. The pizza looks pretty thin. Where’s the damn sauce? All I taste is a weak cheese and some crust, with a near-invisible fleck of sauce. So… this pizza gets a C-. Unsatisfying and disappointing, especially after exerting the energy to aggressively power walk home so the pizza wouldn’t get cold. But then again, it’s a pizza purchased from a convenient store. I will probably try this place again, but will keep my expectations low.

My boyfriend and I have recently instituted a fun new idea: Every week, we order takeout from a new place we’ve never been before. This week was Highland Pizza. We received a menu on our front porch the other day, which led to the decision to order from them last night. Big. Mistake. We ordered the chicken, broccoli, alfredo pizza, a small order of cheese sticks and a soda. The pizza took 40 minutes to come, just like they promised. Looking good so far! Then, sadness. They sent the wrong pizza. We received chicken, sun-dried tomatoes and pesto. I immediately ask if we should call them, but my tummy disagrees and is so hungry it doesn’t care. The boyfriend agrees with my tummy and says, «Maybe this won’t be soooo bad». The only trouble is, I hate with my whole heart sun-dried tomatoes. Hate. Hate. Hate. Even after I picked them off, the taste lingered. To compound this, the pesto was flavorless and lent no moisture to the crust, which it so desperately needed. And, the chicken was dry and chewy. So overall, I felt like I was eating a cheese covered piece of cardboard. No bueno. The only saving grace to this meal was the cheese sticks. They were quite tasty and the dipping sauce wasn’t overly heavy on the marinara taste. Needless to say, I’ll never order from here again and hope that New Takeout Night in my house gets better from here!

Surprisingly good pizza for a random convenience store. I didn’t expect much, but the dough was fresh and the pizza was well made. I’ll go back and try some of their other offerings. Don’t be turned off by the dodgy exterior and area, the place is worth a stop.

I love this place. Their bbq chicken pizza is to die for — bacon, breaded chicken, barbecue sauce, perfection. It is kind of a dive, but inexpensive, and so so good. Even when you heat up the pizza for the next four days, it still tastes fantastic! And the guys inside are always nice. Not super chatty, but they treat you well.

I wish I could give this place 3 ½ stars instead of only 3, but I really like this place so much better than its competitor(Top Speed) a block away, who my tenants swear by. The pizza at Highland is great and I love the fries and the Buffalo Chicken Fingers are good as well. Other things I have gotten here(fried fish and sandwiches) were not quite as good, BUT the service makes up for it completely. This is a true family business where almost all the family members are equally as nice(minus these 2 guys, who are fine but not as endearing). The owner himself used to be a chef at a really nice restaurant in Cambridge back in the day and makes a mean Blue Cheese. This guy has gone out of his way to make our visits good and help us out whenever he can. In short, good for Pizza and Buffalo Chicken Tenders and fries, SUPER cheap(has a lot of combo deals) and great service.

I clearly did not have a similar experience to the other reviewer’s at all. Last night we ordered delivery from this place and both things we got were pretty bad. The pizza(the Highland special or something) looked like some cafeteria pizza and the cheese was way undercooked. My Italian sub had meat that was significantly darker than most cold cuts I’ve seen and though they tasted ok, I was wondering if I was going to get sick from them. I think they were just cheap cuts or something. We couldn’t even figure out what a couple of them were. I asked for everything on it which apparently only consists of the meats, cheese, and a TEENY amount of lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. Um, this was an italian sub. Where is the oil & vinegar? And where are the onions??? Some places will put some kind of basil/oregano/salt/pepper too but I wouldn’t have even cared so much if that was missing. It’s the oil & vinegar(and onions in my opinion) that make an italian an italian. Sigh. Never again.
