«You Rate this nail job» do you think I should get a refund? My nails look scary! I don’t think I am going back for Nails! See the pictures of my nails in the photos.

It’s a shame because the people here are very nice but my blowout was not good at all. Unfortunately I will not be returning.

I was blown away but how great the stylists and colorists were. It doesn’t seem like some big fancy salon, but they are seriously great. I got an amazing blow out and I tend to be kind of picky. The colorist was amazing and helped me choose what would look best, and it did!

This salon, tucked away near the end of the busy main st. in Somerville, is awesome. Not only is there always a warm welcome, but the atmosphere is relaxing and the staff are extremely sweet. I too had a living social voucher and Barbara D was my stylist. She did a phenomenal job and not only have I gone back to her already, but I’m sending my sister to her as well! Definitely schedule your appointments, especially on the weekends as they may be busy. There is a side parking lot that looks like it is for the apartments nearby, but if there is a spot, you can park there. However, I never have a problem parking in the street since they’re located in a less crowded area of main st.

Went there to redeem my living social voucher my family had purchased for me and I also needed a new hair cut/change to my hair. There were a couple people staffed and a party of customers. I liked that they had food, I thought it was cute. The staff was friendly and polite, genuinely kind people. My hair stylist was very sweet and gave me nice, new hair. I haven’t felt this good about my hair in ages and I am definitely going back to get my hair highlighted! Not sure about the review where they said they were treated differently because of the voucher. I didn’t get any weird treatment.

This review is very late. I got a haircut and manicure here on Christmas Eve after I purchased a Unilocal offer. I had a great haircut which is saying something because I have very thin hair. Their normal manicurist was not there that day so someone else did my French manicure. The quality of the manicure was great. Even though it wasn’t a gel, it was almost perfect after a week. I just didn’t think the smile lines were done as well as other places I’ve been to. They just didn’t have the curve that I wanted and sometime didn’t completely go to the side edge of my nail. I would definitely go back for another haircut and give the manicure another try. The ladies there were very nice and friendly and the shop is quaint and lovely.

Purchased the Unilocal deal and booked an appointment the same day. I wanted to cut four inches off of my hair so I was a little apprehensive to go just anywhere. But after reading the reviews and seeing the coupon I decided to give them a try. The salon had a nice feeling to it and there was no wait at all. They offered me coffee and muffins as well. Grace gave me an awesome hair cut! I am so glad I found this place and thank you Grace!

The friendliest service and beautiful results at an awesome price! Can’t ask for more than that. I’ve been going here for about a year after looking for years for someone who can cut my wavy hair well. Elaina always makes my hair look amazing and I leave feeling like a superstar. I’ll never go anywhere else again!

Came in the morning on a Friday(non holiday). Place was nearly empty and was told they did not have time for a mani/pedi and I had to choose one. Did not stay to get a service.

Great friendly service and nice environment! Take you on time for appointments! Good haircuts! Would like an option for lower priced haircuts without styling maybe?

I wanted to try a new salon… what an expensive disappointment! I called to schedule an appointment for color/highlights and there was nothing available for 5 days. I took that as a positive sign thinking they must get a lot of business. When I arrived for the appointment I met with my stylist who was very friendly and seemed to be experienced. I discussed that I wanted to try ombré highlights… my stylist acted as though she knew what to do and started on the process. The color and cut took 4 hours and at the end she spent a good 20 minutes curling and styling my hair. In the light in the salon, my hair looked good… when I got home it was a totally different story. I realized that the reason she spent so much time styling my hair was so that she could hide the horrible color job she did. My hair was four colors… Bleached blonde underneath, blonde highlights, brown base and several orange streaks. I ended up fixing my hair by coloring and cutting the bleached areas. I had to strategically style my hair everyday to blend the colors. I was reluctant to go back because I didn’t want my hair ruined further and didnt want to spend another 4 hours there. Oh, and the owner who I thought was an assistant spent the whole time on the phone with her boyfriend ordering food for dinner. Joke of a salon that will surely not last! Don’t waste your money. My experience cost me over 200 plus a nice tip that was not deserved.

I purchased a Living Social deal and redeemed it for a mani/pedi back in March, and I had a really great experience. The woman who did my nails was unbelievably warm and friendly, she did a great job and I was very happy. I will be trying them for hair, so hopefully it will be a similar experience…

Like the previous poster, I used a Living Social mani/pedi voucher to try this salon. I didn’t feel branded as a LS user but I certainly was glad I didn’t pay full price for this salon. I’ve been to many salons and one thing I’ve found consistent is the front desk service. I have always been greeted, regardless of the amount of customers around the desk. The receptionist at Capelli Belli was busy with the one customer in front of us, yes – I willl give her that. But she essentially ignored me and my friend while she was taking care of the other customer at the register. I am not exaggerating when I say we stood there for five minutes while she waited on someone else. Somehow five minutes, though not a terribly long amount of time, seems like an eternity when you are just standing there staring at someone, waiting to be noticed. When she did eventually acknowledge us, she welcomed us and told us we could go to the mini fridge and get our own beverages if we wanted them(ha!). She was friendly in her demeanor, so I do not have a complaint about that. But despite standing around waiting for the receptionist and then again waiting for the manicurist to come get us, we were rushed through picking out our nailpolish colors. My manicurist was competent. She did a good job and I don’t feel she rushed through the process. She was courteous and friendly. She did a good job on the mani and pedi. Unfortunately my friend’s manicurist was pretty bad. She rushed through the pedicure, was totally oblivious to the water temperature and did a three second massage. Come to think of it, maybe we did have the«Living Social banner» over our heads(or at least my friend’s head). The manicure was even worse. She asked multiple times about the color(we do the ring finger nail a different color) and she STILL screwed that up despite being told about four times which color was to go on which finger(s). She was clumsy with the tools and wound up dropping them on the nails, smudging the nailpolish. She was sloppy and left the nailpolish where she applied it to the cuticles and instead of taking care of it right away, she said she’d «take care of it later.» So of course it dried and then was more difficult to get off. She only filed some nails and pushed back some of the cuticles because she got distracted by the conversation I was having with my manicurist. I don’t know, it was just bad. Trust me when I say it was bad for my friend. I was a little horrified because I’d brought her there as a gift. Because of my experience there, and especially because of how my friend was treated, I wouldn’t go back. I wouldn’t recommend the salon to anyone either. I feel there are so many other choices in the area that if one screws up, I’ll just go somewhere else. It’s unfortunate because it is a nice place and I’m sure it has a lot of potential, but right now Capelli Belli is not living up to it.

SInce they opened in downtown Somerville, I’ve been excited to try this salon. Offering several deals on Facebook and recently a Living Social deal for a mani/pedi, it was finally time to try this place. PROS — the look and feel of the salon is very nice. You walk in and there is a neat display of magazines, a fresh assortment of cookies/snacks and coffee, tea or water can be served. The reception is extremely patient and friendly, a rarity in the beauty salon business. Even through several phone conversations and finally some in person confusion, the reception was organized and friendly with no sign of annoyance or impatience. The eyebrow esthetician was very friendly, professional and did a great job. CONS — As much as I want to like this place, I don’t think I’ll be returning simply for the way I felt walking out of this place. As a living social user and a voucher used that day, I wasn’t expecting to be branded as one. I felt like there was a big sign above my head that read«LIVINGSOCIALUSER — SHEDIDN’T PAYFULLPRICEFORTHISSERVICE». And I was made aware of the second class citizenry treatment living social users are given in this salon. I thought the use of these deal sites was to introduce new clients into businesses and have them try out your products or services without the commitment of FULLPRICE. Aside from being taken in at least ½ an hour late for my practically appointment only service and receiving my water only upon being seated at the pedicure chair, the service was only ok. First, as a fairly new salon, I don’t think I should have to be branded as a living social user or that the staff needs to be made aware, this client is a deal user or what method of payment I made. Then there’s the regular advertising on Facebook for discounts and deals at their salon. Why advertise these deals if you’re made to feel like a second class citizen using them. As for the nail service, I’m not sure its because I was deal user but I wasn’t too happy with it. I mean I’ve had better service in other salons. The previous polish on my nails was still left behind and the manicurist actually got on the phone while servicing me.
