Great county course that is always in good shape. Pace of play could be a little better. I love to walk the course when I play, and this one is easily walkable. I must also add that the entire staff is friendly, and ice cold water is available on multiple holes on the course. As a county resident who primarily plays on weeknights or later in the day on weekends, it’s very affordable too. My only criticism is the over priced range balls(6.00 for 25 – 30 balls is not a good deal). Other then that. A+

A bomber’s paradise, while one of the friendliest and most encouraging courses in golf.

I agree with Apple F. I have many fond memories of playing here in high school and college with my good friends in the 70’s and 80’s. Green Knoll is much nicer and more challenging and where I played first as I grew up in Bridgewater, but since I live closer to Spooky Brook now I play here. Totally AGREE about the cranky old geezers that work here! I never saw such a bunch of angry old men. Two of my uncles were their age, fought in WWII, went through tough times, but were much friendlier than these guys. I remember signing up for membership when i bought my first home as a «25» year old, and one of the old angry men did not believe me when I brought my real estate taxes to prove I was a resident of Franklin Park! At first I thought he was kidding, giving me a hard time as a joke, but he was SERIOUS! I sarcastically told him that I would drive him to my house for dinner at my home if he did not believe me. One of the other guys laughed and told him to leave me alone. He finally let me sign up for country price and play, but this old grouch scowled at me the rest of the day. This was years ago, maybe they are not as bad now, but they still remind me of DMV or Postal workers who like to act all tough and mean to give young guys a hard time. I am and have always been very respectful of the county golf courses. Always replacing my divots, letting the foursome behind me hit up when we are on the par 3 greens, not taking forever to find my lost ball in the woods, etc. I deserve a litte respect(as Aretha Franklin would say!) I am in my mid-50’s, but I envision myself retiring one day and working for the county golf courses and being a real«nice» guy to make up for all the years we had to put up with the cranky old men! Getting back to Spooky Brook, it winds around the Colonial Park, lots of scenic lakes, geese, people walking their dogs, children playing, but not so close to the golf course where it disturbs your game. Overall, a fine course which will bring down your handicap and easy to walk, no cart needed. Have fun when you go there and try to make the workers smile for me!

About as average of a golf course as I could imagine. Not long, pretty open, no ridiculous greens… pretty straightforward golf course. I played it in October, so isn’t that surprising that it seemed a bit beaten up. I wasn’t impressed, though, with the general quality of the fairways(patchy), roughs(short to long to bare dirt), and greens(even aerated greens should be mowed evenly). Its a fine course, just not worth the drive from philly unless you have an event.

Review 50… I didn’t know that they did golf courses on Unilocal. As they say — Spooky Brook Golf Course is relatively flat, 6,612 yard, 18 hole course is known for its spacious greens, tees, and fairways. Easy to walk, it is a favorite of senior golfers. A driving range is also operated at the facility. A golf shop and snack bar are available. Spooky Brook is located on 582 Elizabeth Avenue, Franklin Township. I played here for years in the old AT&T Wed Night Golf League. This place is a dog track. A former pasture that they put a course on, its WIDE open with somewhat marginal greens. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had a lot of fond memories here, but the people I played with were the charm, not the course. It has a driving range where you can warm up. You can walk, pull, rent a pull cart, or rent one of their carts. Cranky old men employed by the county run the joint. You must be a joyless curmudgeon to work here… it must be on the application or something.
