After a much needed trip to Target(who are we kidding, Target is never needed!) my mom brought me to what was claimed one of the better ice cream places in the state. I have pretty high standards of ice cream. I got the chocolate Oreo. It was extremely creamy, rich and full of flavor. Was this ice cream amazing? Yes. Was it one of the better ones in RI? Probably. However, there are some ice cream places I would drive 30 miles to go to, and this one I probably wouldn’t. However, if you are in the great small state of RI, it is worth seeking out!

I am on the hunt to find the best ice cream yet. For now this is my #1. Just walking in, I could smell the heavenly scent of waffle cones being made. The girls who assisted me were excellent and let me try a spoonful of different flavors. I ended up getting one of the most amazing ice cream cones I’ve ever had … Peanut Butter Oreo. The small was huge and so filling. Even though it is hard ice cream, it was so creamy and had the most Oreo chunks I’ve ever seen in a cone. The waffle cone was fresh and oh so good. Nothing can top what I had tonight. They provide amazing quantity and quality of ingredients to make their ice cream that good. The drive is so worth it.

Best coffee Oreo ice cream I have ever had! Super creamy and fresh. Do yourself a favor before summer is over and get here now!

It’s a good thing we don’t live within 50 miles of this place or I might be a daily visitor. Between the scrumptious homemade ice cream and the scent of freshly made waffle cones, the choice was clear to go for the large but still only 5 buck cone and skip dinner. The same cone in NYC would probably set you back at least 10, although they’d try to call it artisanal or something. Seriously may be the best ice cream cone I’ve ever had, which considering the amount of ice cream I’ve eaten in my life is pretty impressive.

Quality for sure, but I find the portions small and overpriced. A large coffee frappé should not cost six bucks, when the cup is the size of a medium at friendlies.

Ice cream and sherbert were way too soft. Almost like soft serve. Caramel on sundaes was salty. Big servings, but who wants big servings of slop.

Favorite ice cream place for over ten years. Will drive 30mins just for their homemade ice cream. Why? Because not only is the ice cream wonderful the place smells like their fresh waffle cones #foodgasm Which I recommend a waffle cone 100% It’s a lot of ice cream. you can share a cone. Ask for a small or share and get two flavors in one cone. even better skip dinner, get two flavors in one and don’t share! Ha, nomm Also has a beautiful view right on the water :)

This is the best ice cream in all of New England, no joke, you seriously have to go here if you’re in MA. But be careful because of the season dates and that they only accept cash. But there is an ATM inside for convenience. The ice cream there is exceptional and it smells SOOOO good inside when you walk in. There is trees and benches outside to sit on so its very scenic and beautiful, animals are welcome to go there but not inside the store. Overall it is an amazing ice cream place you need to go this summer!!!

This is the best ice cream place I’ve ever been to! I’m not huge on ice cream but the cranberry bog flavor is delicious. The waffle cones are also amazing!

Seriously some of the best ice cream in the state(*cough* *cough* — in MA that is). I have driven, on(frequent) occasion, from Downtown PVD all the way out to Somerset for a dose of the Blackberry Chip(20 minute drive, worth it). The timeless classic — Cookie Dough Ice Cream — is an equal motivator. They also make homemade waffle cones on premises, and they are phenomenal. Just sweet enough, and on the brink of crunchy. They have 4 flavors of 90% fat free frozen yoghurt too, which has fooled me in the past into thinking it’s ice cream. One of the flavors is Coffee Heath, and it really is excellent. The line can sometimes get long, and seem intimidating, however note that it does move fast. Also, cash only here — but there is an ATM inside. Enjoy!

I’ve been driving past Somerset Creamery for years, but never stopped until one hot day last summer, when I was craving ice cream. I didn’t even know it was made there(along with the cones) until I walked inside. It smelled SO good, and so many choices. My favorite ice cream of all time is Grape Nut and its hard to find in the store, so I got a small cup of grape nut and it was fantastic, better than what you buy in the store and the serving size was huge for a small. price was even better. I can’t remember exactly but It was around $ 3 and change. $ 5 total with tip. Well worth it for the friendly service. Plenty of parking outside as well, and plenty of places to sit. That particular day was hot, so I sat in my car with the AC blasting, but if I’d been with friends, I probably would have walked around the back and sat on the grass overlooking the lake out back. very scenic Haven’t been back yet this year, but its only April. give it a try, customer service is always great too! oh and unless its changed, Cash only, but there is an ATM inside

When the weather is warm and my friends come to visit they usually request that we go here for some icecream. The place smells amazing and the icecream is some of the best around. Because it is so awesome, it can get really busy and crowded, no matter what day and no matter what time. Bring cash so you don’t need to use the ATM.

Every time I’m in town I always make a stop here! Wow! Really, no one does it like the creamery. Very friendly kids working, very attentive. And really, even if the ice cream WAS sub par, which it isn’t, I think the handmade waffle cones could make up for that. Just watching them be made while you wait in line makes your mouth water! My order? Coffee Oreo in a waffle cone. Always. The huge chunks of real Oreo in the great Ice cream just makes it pure perfection. Add a warm waffle cone, straight off the iron to that? Heavenly. If the line is long when you walk by, just know, it IS worth the wait.

My sis introduced me to this location. I feel like we’re walking back into the old days when we come here. The fresh smell of waffles being baked, and iced cream churned, puts an immediate smile on the faces of its patrons. Being a local company I’d much rather drive here than a «Baskin Robbins» or «Ben and Jerrys». I’m a sucker for chocolate chip cookie dough in a waffle cone. :) Prices are great but be advised that they are CASHONLY!

I live here in San Diego now and I am having dreams of eating Somerset creamery ice cream. There is no good home made ice cream over here! The ice cream is so creamy, the hot fudge is always good, the quality is always consistent. Not sure how anyone could give this place less than 5 stars, its a RI and MA landmark. The warm waffle cones, and waffle cups are the best as well. Its worth a special trip here, I always bring out of towners with me. I guess I’ll go and eat Baskin’ Robbins tonight… since I can’t get this ice cream shipped!

Delicious ice cream shop… they make their waffle cones/cups fresh and the ice cream is delicious. I usually try a new ice cream every time I visit but I always have it in a waffle cup with peanut butter topping. I try to visit during non-peak times(e.g., Saturday at 3pm) as the line can get very long on weekend nights. I wish they sold water at the counter rather than the vending machine as I usually have to ask for change, but whatever, not a big deal. Picnic tables would be a great idea as there’s a nice pond in the back. I usually eat the ice cream in the car and dream of puppies and rainbows. Yes, it’s that peaceful.
