Bambu Tattoo Art Studio

The best tattoo studio in RI!!! As the wearer of 10 tats, I was looking for an exceptional studio and artist. I found both Bambu. Walter Canavan’s custom work is exceptional. He took my idea and transformed it into a masterpiece. I am returning shortly for more work. Bambu is very open, clean, professional, and caters to the art collector. The only studio I will get ink at!!!

I’ve gotten 2 tattoos from Bambu. The place is very clean, but I definitely got a, «we are way cooler than you» vibe.
My first tattoo I got from Joel, who is fantastic. I went in so nervous, and he made me feel very safe. Went slow, answered all of my questions, and seemed to genuinely care about my input and ideas. He also did a friend of mine’s sleeve also and he does gorgeous work.
My second tattoo I got was in white ink, the artist had a bunch of awards and such so I went very confident that he would be good, but he ended up being so rude. Very judgmental of my design, to the point that I almost didn’t get it. The ironic thing is that that is the tattoo I get the most compliments on.
All in all, tattoo studios are about the individual artists who work there. Go in for a consultation first to make sure you are getting taken care of. If you want a guaranteed good experience, try to book with Joel.

The really great thing about Bambu is that you can literally get whatever you’re aiming for. You want beautiful, airbrush style color work, graffiti or comic style pieces? Joel or Joe are your go-​to guys. Got a piece with some solid line-​work, or a piece of art you have your heart dead set on replicating? Rob will take care of you no problem. Working within a budget? Ask and you shall receive. These guys are super sweet and willing to work with you for whatever it is you’re looking for. It’s tough to get time with Joel (and you’ll want to set aside a good chunk of time, he’s a talker), so make sure you call well in advance! A month at least. Otherwise, walking in is fine.

So to be fair I will start with the fact that I got my tattoo done here over 5 years ago so maybe their work has improved.
I got my first tattoo done here and the guy who did it f’d it up royally. I wanted a shooting star and i got a falling one and also he didn’t fill in one corner of the star.
Boo.
I gave it two stars because the location is pretty cool. they have a gorgous loft right in downtown providence.
