Old Mission Wine Company & Honeywood Farm

You just have to try out this place in Solvang! House of Honeywood is right there on the main drag on Mission St. in downtown Solvang.
When you peek in, it may not impress you with the lavish tasting room style that you find so often, however, it’s definitely worth walking into and checking out.
Gary and Julia are awesome — they are generous, accommodating, funny, and best of all, knowledgeable about the wines that they carry. House of Honeywood carries many wines from the Santa Barbara County area that are very small producers, and many do not even have their own tasting rooms. But Gary will fall in love with one of their wines and agree to carry it in his store, and have his guests try it out — to the benefit of the winery and you!
We are party of the «Honeybees» :-) their wine club, and we absolutely love it. We get 3 bottles shipped 3 times a year, and it is completely catered to your palate — Do you like reds or white, fruity or dry, ports, new releases, old favourites, etc. We have always been happy with our shipments and what we buy in the store (we get 10%). Highly recommend checking their club out!
Tasting is reasonable, and you can choose your tasting list based on what types of wines you usually enjoy. The cool and unique thing is that all the wines you will be tasting will be from different wineries around town, and thus, you get more of an overall taste of the valley in just one sitting!
And when you’re done, I recommend walking next door to the Wandering Dog — a wine bar :-)

We wandered into this venue as it was walking distance from our hotel (Wine Valley Inn) and were pleasantly surprised. The wine was good and the store was charming. The owners (Gary and Julia) were also kind, very knowledgable and SUPER friendly. Be sure to stop here when visiting Solvang. You won’t be disappointed.
