Dulse is a hidden gem at supercuts! I’m reluctant to write this because I’ll give away my secret and it will be harder to get an appointment with her! My usual routine when I move to a new location is to accept any stylist that’s available until I find the one with the X-​Factor. After a few visits I got paired up with Dulse and she had it so I’ve been going to her ever since. Don’t get me wrong — the others at this location are really good, but Dulse is great! And it’s not just a good hair cut, we always have a pleasant conversation and I walk out of there feeling better than when I walked in. Ask for Dulse next time you go to Supercuts!

Had my haircut here 4 times, always a different woman and always a good cut with good customer service. Superior to barbers since you get a woman’s touch and isn’t that the point getting your hair cut as a guy is that you want hair that women will like?

There is no point in calling ahead at this location — the receptionist does not write down your name until you walk in… Then you are stuck behind the masses already waiting. What’s the point of me wasting even more of my time by calling?
This has happened on more than one occasion to both me and my boyfriend. Today, he made an appointment for 3:30pm, showed up at 3:20pm, got placed on the list (even though he should have been on before), and he wasn’t called until 4:15pm. Seriously?
The stylists are okay — good for when I need a trim. But honestly. I value my time more than saving $ 20 on a haircut.
Your appointment service is bad, and you should feel bad.

Bad bad place lots of negative energy… no stylist skills, no social skills no math skills. Bad shampoo, bad haircut, overcharged and under discounted.

I went there on a Sunday morning, and waiting time was about 30 min.
The hair stylist did almost nothing on my hair, she spent about 2 minutes on me. When I thought she was starting to cut my hair, she told me she was already done. So when I went home, my husband told me I looked exactly the same.
Additionally, they charged one extra dollar on my credit card, which I’m not going to waste my time complaining about that, but it’s very annoying.
I think Supercuts in UTC is much better service than Supercuts in Solana Beach, with no doubts.

Called in 15 mins before arrival. Wait time was 20 mins. After arrival I was told wait time is still 15 mins. An old guy walked in after me, he was told wait time is 10 mins. Go figure.
The guy who came in after me was served before me.

I wrote a review a while back but lost that Unilocal account so I’m writing another. I’ve been getting my hair cut here for nearly two years and it’s not necessarily the closest hair salon/​barber to me which should speak for itself.
Laura has been cutting my hair for a while now and I’ve always left happy. She’s very patient and willing to make minor alterations toward the end if something isn’t exactly right. She and most everyone else at the salon are a lot of fun, I usually end up laughing a few times while I’m there.
It’s not generally overly busy though they’re well staffed and I’ve never had to wait longer than a few minutes nor have I felt that my haircuts have been rushed.
I’ve gotten my hair cut at a few fancy salons in the past and I can’t say that those haircuts were any nicer than what I consistently receive at the Solana Beach Supercuts. I’ll be coming back as long as I’m in the area.

…just had both kids haircut at SB Supercuts. Overall, we were all very happy with them.
We called Saturday morning for a same day afternoon appointment. There were no issues with our requested appointment time or delays upon arrival. In fact, we arrived five minutes late and they went straight into their hair cuts with no wait. I was very happy with how friendly they were. My 4 year old was really difficult. He’d decided he never wanted another haircut. They were able to get it done with a smile on his face (and a balloon afterwords).
I gave them 4 stars only because i would have liked both their haircuts a little shorter and a little sharper… I just didn’t say anything at the time because with kid’s you really just get one shot. They don’t have the patience for re-do’s…I acknowledge the result may also have been affected by the kids not staying still as well…

Pleasant and experienced staff. Can’t beat $ 20 after having paid upwards of $ 90 for years, so no complaints. Sometimes I make an appointment, though more times than not I walk in and ask for Lora, my favorite, and hope for the best. If there is a wait longer than a few minutes, I kill time at Henry’s, CVS, or run over to Marshall’s.

Customer service is fairly good, There seems to be a high turnover rate there though, so if you find someone that does your hair right, don’t expect her to be there next time. This place is sort of a hit and miss, I come here to get a consistent haircut everytime, but sometimes they mess it up, they eather cut it too short or leave it too long.

I made an appointment with the Male receptionist (unk name) for Brenda Ramsey for the time of 5:30PM today, Friday, April 22. I arrived at 5:30 and was first told by the male recept. that Brenda just stepped out for a minute. Then the story changed to she went to dinner, back in 20 minutes (5:50M) and they would call me on my cell if she came back sooner.
I returned at 5:55 (25 minutes after my scheduled appt.) No Brenda. Waited until 6:00PM. Then someone said: «Oh we overbooked her» I asked: Why didn’t Supercuts call me to tell me such that I wouldn’t waste my time driving all the way to the store?
I wasted ½ hr waiting. Still no Brenda. Still waiting for a call from Store manager. Its 6:30.
So Supercuts: Is that any way to run a business? What would you have done?
Would you ever return to a business that treats customers with NO Respect? A simple phone call: «Brenda is running an hour behind schedule»: No such call. No Class !

I usually get my haircut up here when I am working in Del Mar. It’s one exit up from my office, so I like to swing by here after work. The place is nice, they play decent music and the ladies cutting hair have always been super pleasant. It’s right next door to Henry’s Marketplace so I can get a haircut and then do some grocery shopping. Susan cut my hair on Thursday and she used this shampoo that I have never heard of when washing my hair. The shampoo was awesome, but a little out of my budget. I may be metro (sorta) but I’m no baller.
