Food Lion

I cannot stand how crowded this location is during the summer. Also, the prices are high. Otherwise, the store is clean, the staff is relatively friendly (about as friendly as high school students standing in one spot and dealing with customers all day can be), and the produce is always fresher than other places’ produce, like the commissary or wal-​mart.

Well stocked, prices are good. Their bakery and cheese section are delicious. Fully stocked wines, beers and other cocktail mixes/​spirits. There are «we support our troops» stickers on their outer entrance, which I can appreciate.
The staff are all very young, nothing wrong with this, but a few times I have asked about certain items or things and they literally have no-​clue what I’m asking about, or even know what they carry in stock, least direct me either. –quickly getting back to personal conversations.
I’ve noticed on several occasions that hair restraints are not worn while produce is being stocked. –they may be more tempted to run their fingers through their hair, then touch the food, sorry, yuck!

I’ll give them a four because this is a clean store, the staff are nice… worthy of a three, but they’re organized enough to have wine tastings on occasion so they get an extra star. Selection of veggies is good and everything I’ve picked up has been fresh. Really no downsides to this store, though crowds during the summer are quite bad.

Convenient, generally clean. The staff is always helpful. The downfall comes with the super overpriced items. I try to avoid Food Lion at all costs unless I just have to have something now.

I was pleasantly surprised while picking up a few grocery items from this store that the cashier honored the Food Lion customer rewards prices without me having a card to be scanned (and without me requesting the sale pricees). I regularily carry my Kroger card with me in Kentucky and I make sure I have my Safeway card when I travel to the west coast as both those chains charge full price without a loyalty card.

Excellent selection of Veggies and Fruits with all being fresh and reasonably priced. Good stocked meat section. Register check out was fairly fast and very friendly. Small store but has all the necessities.
