It’s five stars. Absolutely. Del’s Lemonade is the best. It’s a bit funny to be leaving a review for Del’s. This is the best frozen lemonade around and unless there was something«wrong» on a given visit, I’d probably have to rate any Del’s with five stars. If you live in or are from Rhode Island, you already know all about Del’s Lemonade, and you don’t need me to tell you about it. If not: this is a soft frozen lemonade. It has chunks of real lemon rind in it. It’s less sweet than a typical frozen lemonade, and tastes and looks very natural. No lurid fake yellow lemonade here. You need to try this. There’s no better lemonade.

Like the previous review, I remember when this was on the left end of the little plaza. I want to like this Del’s because it’s the one I grew up with. Sort of. At some point over the years… it transformed from a real Del’s, to Smithfield Soft Serve … a little walk up window that still happens to serve Del’s. The Del’s sign near the road is gone; the old school Del’s trucks are gone too. They don’t have any new flavors like at other locations, such as, blueberry, grapefruit, and peach/mango… If this is your only Del’s, I bet you didn’t even know Del’s had those new flavors! Lastly, I get quarts… and they don’t participate in the«quart club»(buy 10 get 1 free). If they had the other flavors and participated in the quart club, I would have given 4 stars. I’ll still stop there if I want Del’s and I’m right there, otherwise I’ll get my quart club stamped on Hartford Ave…

I am an ‘old’. So, I remember when this Del’s was on the corner of the building. Needles to say I have been coming here since before I could see over the counter, and am happy to report they have never changed the recipe and it’s the same exact taste from everyone’s R.I. childhood. Although, I will be giving this Del’s three stars for the time being, Their freezer was broke and they did not have room for the frozen lemon chunks. Hopefully it will be fixed, soon. So, I can enjoy my chunks and give them another star.
