The rustic beauty of Harriman State Park makes it seem improbable that it’s less than an hour from the GWB via the Palisades Parkway. Seven Lakes Drive is the best way to get a 360-degree perspective of the lakes, beaches and camping sites. It’s lovely is Spring, Summer and Fall. After your visit, you can continue a bit further up the parkway to the Bear Mountain Inn for food and drink.

Leave the city for a while and enjoy gorgeous way! Drive and see water surrounding you, go fishing or boating, or just enjoy the beauty of nature. The area is huge, so you can find insulated spots if that’s what you are looking for, or hike the many trails around the many lakes. Beautiful beautiful.

It had a chance to be beautiful but the attractiveness to this area is well known to cops. Beware of seven lakes drive. It goes from 40mph to 20 back to 40 in less than 100 yards. In that space is a revenue generating machine for a sleepy town that produces nothing but base their whole economy on speeding violations. Keep your eye on the last mile on seven lakes drive before hitting sloatsburg. RIGHTBEFORETHE87OVERPASS The speed traps start in the residential area so once you see houses slow down.

My family and I love spending our summers at the 7 lakes. Our favorite lake is Lake Tiorati. All in all there are 3 public lakes available for swimming Lake Tiorati, Lake Welsh and Lake Sebago. Unfortunately, Lake Sebago has been closed for the past few years. Yesterday, for Memorial Day our family decided to say goodbye to summer with a day full of grilling and swimming. Too bad that when we arrived at Lake Tiorati, there were no lifeguards on duty, WTH?! You’d expect such a busy day to be fully staffed but nope! So we drove down the road to Lake Welsh which we already expected to be crowed as it was. What I didn’t expect was there to only be about 6 lifeguards on duty. It was seriously ridiculous. Everyone was packed in the designated areas like tuna. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I even saw lifeguards patrolling the unattended areas, removing swimmers. How about placing those lifeguards on duty? The bathrooms were disgusting. If it’s a matter of cost, my family wouldn’t be opposed to paying more than the already standard $ 8 for parking. I hope things improve for next year. We love spending our days in the mountains. In any case, my kids had a blast! Now they’re ready for school tomorrow.

I am a cyclist and I love the park, the roads and the scenery. Everything is perfect for a good training but just today I almost got killed by a speeding motorcycle gang. They were speeding next to me like crazy 80−100mph I was so shocked almost went down from the road. The same speeding craziness happened back and forth on the road. I have seen some police cars but they are not enough to control the entire park. I get it it’s the weekend and its a nice ride with a chopper but these were speed bikes with«young kids» on it. It was scary and dangerous.

I absolutely loved Seven Lakes Drive. We did a camping trip here at Beaver Pond Campsite in Harriman Stare park.(Check out reviews for campsite) we Kayaked many of the lakes here all were amazing. We fished a few too and even caught some large mouth bass. Beauty beyond words right on the Appalachian trail.

7 Lakes Drive is home to Tiorati Lake. It’s a small man made beach. It’s clean and family friendly. However, no food or pets allowed. They do have a picnic table before you enter where you can sit down and eat. And they also have an ice cream and soda vending machine. They have two restroom areas. The one directly on the beach has showers but fewer actual restrooms. Both were clean. Right across from the beach/lake are picnic and BBQ stations with parking near by. Parking fee is $ 8.
