Best roast beef subs and any subs you get! The bread is what makes this place rock, however, order that roast beef because it’s flavor is undeniable! You can taste the slow roast in it. Thin tender slices and it’s cooked to perfection, not bloody but just enough pink to let that full roast beef flavor shine through. I’m not a fan of the western PA does its toasting method of cold subs, however this place gets a pass. I’m from south Philly and southern n.j. where our subs are cold, however in this case, it’s perfectly fine to let your sub get toasted. The perfect bite is that chew you get from the great roll, the tenderness of the thinly sliced meats, the tanginess of the provolone hits you, shredded lettuce, the rich mayo which I prefer on the roast beef sub is all that a sub should be. Try this place out, they’re rockin the subs like nobody else can do!!!

I’m hard pressed to find a better sub. Bobs really spoils people, I guess. The bread seems like the hallmark, for me anyway, but the lettuce and mayo do carry their own points of interest.
Would definitely recommend — it’s a typical spot fore when in the area.

I’ve been coming to Bob’s Subs since I was a college freshmen in 1994 and have yet to be disappointed. I’m sure some of my infatuation with Bob’s is part nostalgia, but honestly, their subs are amazing.
I often think it might be the bread, or something different in the mayo, but there is a sweet taste to Bob’s Subs that makes their subs different from anywhere else. Subway isn’t even close to being in the same ballpark, Jimmy John’s might be in the far, deep outfield.
I always get the turkey, easy on the mayo, senior size.
Good news, they now, for the first time in 30 (?) years, accept credit cards and even Apple Pay!

Many subs and many memories. I have been coming for 18 years. Now my daughter is a 2^nd generation Bob’s Sub lover.

Bob’s are the best subs anywhere, hands down. I’ve traveled all over the world and met people who either went to SRU or knows someone who did and their first question is always «is Bob’s Subs still there?!»

Bob’s Subs is the kind of place that never changes. The subs are the same great tasting subs they were the first time I ate here over 30 years ago. Thanks Cindy and crew!

I gotta hand it to Bob, whoever he is. If I could see him right now, I’d firmly shake his hand with about 68 pounds of mayo on my hand because apparently that’s what he likes to put on his subs… But trust me… I’m not complaining. If bob puts 68 pounds of that mayo on my sub — I’m good. If he puts 70 pounds on — I’m even better! I think you get my point… This mayo is just downright tasty and the more the better if you ask me. And since you’re reading this review, you’re asking me. And I’m tellin ya! The bread and meat is pretty bad if I’m telling you the truth, but it doesn’t matter once your spread on 38 tons of that mayo on one of those bad boys. And by bad I mean good. So on one of these GOOD boys. Anyway, the atmosphere is top notch. The building is about 900 years old but the Mario Lemieux and jaromir jagr posters inside are hilarious. So that makes up for it. Also there is an old TV inside that you aren’t allowed to touch. But they usually have a decent channel on so its kind of okay. Well, I couldn’t go to sleep tonight unless I told you folks how damn good this mayo is. And it’s damn good. So now I can sleep well and you can dream of this dreamy mayonnaise. 3 stars for mayo alone. Thanks.

Best place ever! No one can beat Bobs Subs!

I had the Junior Super & my daughter has the meatball sub. We stopped by for a late lunch after an SRU tour & lacrosse clinic. Very filling and tasted great. Good job, Bob’s Subs!

They are tasty! I do prefer the Clarion location… that’s where I was introduced to Bob’s Subs… but this place is pretty darn close, the bread is different. Anyway… tasty yes, but I couldn’t tell you what the ‘meat’ is actually made of… yikes!

Meat and bread is always super fresh here, and the price is just right.
I try to make a point to stop at Bob’s anytime I’m driving through Slippery Rock. They offer one of the best subs around. It’s definitely a superior and more inexpensive hoagie than anything at Subway.
I usually get the super, which is the Italian sub there, or the roast beef. Buy your friends lunch without breaking the bank!

My first time eating here (even told the guy) in the 2 years I’ve went to SRU. 4÷11÷15 around 930 at night. I get you guys close soon but i want to mention a few things… yes the food was good ! Not great good, i choose to eat here because of what i heard. Yes the subs are good (i got the turkey and my gf got the roast beef) but ive had better. First off all my sandwich fell apart the minute i opened it the bread for very dry and the bottom was broken which made it slightly complicated to eat. I figured if i told the guy it would be made a little more presentable. Also i understand that sandwiches come with mayo but i should be able to taste the other parts of the sandwich. That being said it was good sandwich not sure how often I’d come but thanks for the sub guys! Hope this can be improved. Then ill come more

I was in the area while geocaching. I had a the 6 inch cappacola sandwich. This was really a great sandwich. The bread is what happen this sandwich so great… it was perfectly toasted. I def will come back and is going to be added to my bookmarks so when I am in the area I will remember to come back here.

While in the Army and in Iraq I dreamed for some Bobs Subs. Now that I have moved back to the area — I’m not disappointed. AND THEY TAKE CREDIT CARDS NOW!!!

You already can deduce this place has at least great subs or potentially the best. To me, what really matters is that these are easily the best subs for what they cost. A few places in my life have been as delicious as Bob’s, but have done so for three times the price.
Stop by here if you are visiting the rock. Completely worth your time and money.

The secret’s in the sauce. And by sauce, I mean mayonnaise. Bob’s will ruin all future Subway meals for you, and you won’t even care. There are no bad choices on the menu, but I recommend the Turkey, the Capicola, or the Super. Pro tip: order a 12″ or larger – you will want leftovers. Bob’s Subs: «The best in America.»

for the area, yes, it exceeds expectations and surprises patrons with its bold flavors. how can something as mundane as a sandwich be elevated to something as delicious as Bob’s transcends it? The secret, I hypothesize, is the crack they sprinkle on each sub while no one is looking.
the subs are pretty darn good and uncomplicated. you get a huge helping yumminess and quick service. i’d come back, but i’d hard pressed to call it amazing.

Awesome. We regularly travel WELL out of the way to pick up subs to go. Genoa and Roast beef are our favorites. Don’t be fooled by the knockoff jerk restaurant in Pittsburgh.

Bob’s is fantastic. So fantastic, in fact, that I plan my trips to Pittsburgh around when Bob’s is open.
The subs are really good, and the last time I ventured out and tried the deli-​style sandwich on rye, it was also really good.
A couple notes:

–it is always cold, so take a jacket
–they are sometimes closed for days at a time, so call ahead

Bobs subs was a small place to eat subs. This place was cash only so be prepared. It was empty and I almost felt bad. The menu had a lot of choices and I decided to order a giant Pastrami sandwich ($ 6 total). I waited a few minutes which gave me time to take pictures of the interior.
The Pastrami sandwich was good and was enough for me to get full. I wanted everything on my sub except onions. My Pastrami sandwich was good and the giant size would be equivalent to a footlong.
There was parking in the back but it was small. I thought this was a pretty good place for subs.
