Unfortunately, wouldn’t go back. Nice place and nice staff, but for the prices, the food fell way short. I never understand when a cesar salad comes out with creamy Cesar dressing. And this dressing wasn’t even the good stuff. Kind of casual dining. Just didn’t like the food.

Good news!(For me anyways) The quinoa burger at this location is just as good! We’ve also branched out to a few other items on the menu and we’ve been pleased with our selections. Both times we’ve been here it’s been late on a Saturday night and there’s maybe one or 2 other parties. Not sure if it’s busier earlier in the evening, but if you want a pretty private dinner, this might be your go-to. The staff has been very kind and attentive each time we’ve visited and even welcomed us when it was clearly just about to close. Each meal starts with warm bread which is incredible! I’m definitely a bread lover and I spare no carbs when it comes to bread, take it from me– this bread’s worth the carbs. GB24 serves their bread perfectly warm and doughy with apple cinnamon or salted butter and it’s delicious! My husband’s tried the mussels(which are discounted on Mussel Monday’s fyi) and he was pleased with his selection. He’s also tried the burger and subbed his fries for poutine– don’t try this at home unless you’ve got about a 20 point buffer in your blood pressure. Fluid retention aside, he did enjoy his burger and his substitution, although this will be a sporadic indulgence. I’ve also had their herb salad which was pretty standard but it’s reassuring to know they use locally grown organic greens(helps a millenial like me sleep at night). I’m glad to have this location so close to me to fill my quinoa burger cravings, now all we need is an Ayelada a across the street!

one of the worst experiences in service that I have ever had. You have a male server that is outstanding, I came back to the restaurant with my 92 yr old mother and brother visiting from ohio because of the outstanding service from the male server. Unfortunately, we were given a female server who left us for an hour and a half waiting for hambergers on a night that was NOT particularly busy. When we spoke to the manager, although she was nice and sweet she was useless and the night proceeded along the same terrible track. ADVISE from a business owner. get rid of the manager you have as well as the female server. your business will die if this is a typical night… promote the male server who cares about the customer… THISWASAWFUL

I visited the restaurant with a large group on a Wednesday night around 7:30. The restaurant was still busy but not packed, so we were seated quickly. Service was excellent, and staff was very friendly and helpful. Wednesday night is burger night, and each of us got a different burger, and it just so happened that we ordered every one on the menu. I got the California, and it’s now my favorite burger. Everyone has an excellent meal and a great time. It is fairly pricy, but well worth the extra change. I would recommend this restaurant for a nice night out for anyone!

The food here is decent. The service is universally atrocious. We have been here a dozen times. Maybe 2 dozen. Nearly every time we leave after a disastrous service experience and swear we won’t return. There may be decent servers here but we haven’t had one since the girl with purple highlights left a year and a half ago. The problem is a complete lack of supervision by management.

TL;DR: Ordered what I thought was $ 15 burger and beer special, anticipated some upcharge, ate fantastic, well-prepared, generous amount of food, received bill for $ 22.50. No beer list, prices not clear enough on menu. Will go back. Feel a little burnt with so much upcharge. ______________________________________________ I stopped in with a friend and my brother to try out the burger special; I’m not sure how I heard about it, but it seemed like a good deal. We were seated immediately, as almost no one was there(it was around 8 on a Wednesday night, so unsurprising for Slingerlands). We were puzzled to see only one beer listed on the menu, so we inquired what they had on tap. After hearing the options, I decided to get a Southern Tier IPA instead of the Saranac they had that went along with the special. The burger special read: «burger and choice of draft,» with the one draft listed, and cost $ 15. Seemed like a fair deal, and I figured it’d be an extra buck or two since I ordered a beer not on that section, nor on any section. It was puzzling; there was no beer list anywhere on the menu, not just on the specials section, and we had to have our waitress go ask the bartender what they had on tap. The burger was very good, better than expected, I’d say. I ordered the Parisian, which came with Brie and caramelized onions. It was decent sized, cooked properly(rare), and just full of flavor. It came with a generous amount of fries, which themselves were quite good, if not cut somewhat thinner than I prefer, and some ketchup, and a small salad. Everything tasted great. Then we got the bill. I was charged $ 15 for the burger itself, and $ 7.50 for the pint of Southern Tier. I would have been fine with as much as $ 4 extra, but an extra $ 7.50 seems dishonest. I don’t know if it is supposed to work like that or not. Maybe we were mischarged. But $ 7.50 for a pint of Southern Tier is too high, anyway. I’ll probably be back at some point, but the surprise charge left me feeling just a little bit burnt. In any case, I would suggest to the management to put their beer list on the menu, listed with prices, ideally. Otherwise, keep up the good work in the kitchen!

Tonight was my second visit. The first was shortly after the place opened. The reason it’s taken so long to go back? Mediocre experience in visit one. The food and service was adequate and wines seemed pricey, plus the décor and atmosphere really distressed me. Why, WHY design a brand new restaurant to look like a converted dead Friendly’s? Start with some coziness and charm, not a former HoJo’s. Tonight I returned at the request of a friend, & we sat outside. I had the flatbread(strawberries, goat cheese, balsamic drizzle) which was good, & the small spinach salad with added Flank steak. I’d give the meat a 2 of 5: it was rare, not medium rare, coated with too much pepper, and just not a great cut. The patio was lovely and service appropriately paced but okay since we were relaxing & enjoying the quiet late spring evening.

First and only time there. I saw their«burger night» advertised so decided to give it a try. $ 22.95 for a burger and one beer which is apparently a special. Yikes. Food was so so as well as the service. Nothing awful at all but plenty of places are far better for the cost.

If you’re looking for a nice spot to eat in the Slingerlands area, Garden Bistro is probably your best bet for a quality meal. The ambiance is a bit generic and suburban but don’t let the bland looks fool you. You can get dinner, dessert and coffee, or just drinks at the bar here and do very well for yourself. The menu is undoubtedly a bit concise, but they do have a nice selection of dishes with locally sourced and/or seasonal ingredients. Currently, my favorites are the olive and nut app, where the nuts are encrusted with a rosemary, cayenne, and brown sugar spice mix, and of course the hangar steak with blue cheese and shallot butter and a huge portion of their delicious pomme frites. Mmm, that’s pretty awesome stuff. Give the Garden Bistro a shot if you’re in Slingerlands. It’s really not half bad!

Delcious! The salads & dressing are by far best I found in town ! And the burgers & sandwiches so flavorful! Have only been a few times each time was great! Always take care in the to go orders. Never mess up with the dressings and sauces.

The food was average, but everything is $ 3 – 5 more expensive than it should be. The portions are also relatively small for what you get. Our waitress was very nice and it is nice inside. Their menu is tiny. I don’t think I would return… it is definitely underwhelming. A very«meh» experience.

I’ve been to Garden Bistro 24 in Slingerlands twice, and both experiences were great. The first time I ordered their signature burger, which was tasty and cooked perfectly. Also, the chocolate mousse was TREMENDOUS! This last time around I had the moules frites, and they were fabulous. I ordered them in the basil & butter sauce. They were hot, flavorful, and plentiful, as were the fries. The price of $ 16.50 was absolutely reasonable for the delicious food that was served. The waitress was lovely and patiently split checks for our table of 9. It was a fantastic dining experience, and I will definitely be coming back!

Had a lovely lunch outside on the patio today. Our server was fabulous. he was very patient and helpful with the toddler who was with us. Two of us had the French Dip sandwich and it was great. Their fries are excellent and beyond plentiful. Nice lunch spot…

Underwhelmed. Average food. Not exceptionally fresh or local as one would think. Wait staff painfully SLOW. With less than 10 lunch tables occupied, a simple order for 4 people took 45-minutes to fill. I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a great lunch spot! I cannot speak for dinner as our first and only time thus far has been for lunch. We started with the calamari which was delicious and then followed it up with 2 salads(the gb24 and the countryside) portions were a perfect size and they didn’t skimp on any of ingredients! We shared some frites as well and the honey mustard sauce was delicious! My only complaint is that it is on the bright side but otherwise a great spot!

Disappointing Food was ok, but over salted(like most restaurants). Good portions but too much(again, like most). Not enough choice on the menu. With the name garden bistro I would expect a vegetable-heavy healthy menu, that is not what they have. Only 2 soups, Salads are very limited, a lot of red meat on the menu. Entire selection fit on one page. Did not bother to stay for dessert.

Okay, so if you’re going to the Garden Bistro to get a salad which seems like a reasonable thing to do, don’t. I went with a friend and it was our first time to this restaurant. We both ordered the Caesar salad with chicken and the cost was around 12 – 13 dollars per salad. I immediately felt confused when they brought them to the table and all the salad consisted of was iceberg lettuce with chicken. I don’t even think I need to go into the taste because it was iceberg lettuce. I don’t know anything else about the menu, but honestly I don’t need to. Iceberg heads cost .99 cents at the Shop Rite in the same plaza as the Garden Bistro. Don’t waste your money.

I’m a big fan on the Central Ave. location and am thrilled they decided to open a location in Slingerlands. I have visited this location three times and the food has been consistently good but not great. The service has been a little uneven. I would imagine both the food and service will improve with a little time. Prices are very reasonable. My real disappointment is with the space itself. I want this to be a cozy place but it’s not at all. It’s rather noisy, the lights are bright and the décor just seems off. Sort of like they raided a Pier 1 Imports store. The pictures and mirrors are hung ridiculously high. There is a mirror in the bar area that is literally hung near the ceiling. Turn down the lights, add some tablecloths and candles and they are on their way. I will be back but am keeping my fingers crossed that it gets better.
