Eddy Skokie Optical

One of my mom’s ear pieces («temples», as I learned they’re called) broke on her eyeglasses, those flexible types. I called LensCrafters; no, they don’t do fix them. They suggested calling a jeweler. Instead, I called here, and the man said to bring them in, he’d need to look at it. I took the glasses in. The very nice woman at the desk (‘Mrs. Eddy’) found very similar temples, and suggested getting both — rather than just 1. In less than 2 hours, the new temples were put on. No, they’re not the flexible type, but that’s ok. The cost? $ 20 — total. Way better than having to get new glasses, or we were going to try gluing them but that may have prevented them from being able to close. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Eddy! I will be back, and will tell everyone about your nice, neat, clean store, and your wonderful customer service!

I have been going to Skokie Optical since they opened in 2002. They have a great selection of glasses on site and can order any glasses that they don’t stock. Eddie and Maria are fabulous! Very nice store and very friendly.

I have had little use for an Eye Glass store since getting Lasix surgery, until my sunglasses were widely out of sorts. I happened to be parked near Skokie Optical and even though I did not purchase my sunglasses there I figured I would try to get them adjusted. I have experienced many stores that will not touch eye glasses not purchased from them, this was not the case at Skokie Optical. The gentleman, he might have been the Optometrist, gladly bent, shaped, cleaned, tightened and otherwise monkeyed with my specks till they fit perfectly. I practically had to force him to accept the $ 5.00 charge for the 10 min. he spent. They also have an on premise lab and I have no doubt that they create perfect spectacles. This is the real deal.

Wonderful service, great staff, good prices = a great place to come if you need a quick checkup on your eyes.
They offer a great eye exam price of about $ 35 (at the time of this writing). For that money, you get the whole nine yards with the optometrist (glaucoma screening, vision testing, lenes corrections, etc).
I was very pleased with them and will gladly be coming back whenever I need to update my prescription for my glasses.

I’ve been checking my eyes at Eddy Skokie Optical for two years now. They are great and really, really cheap — only $ 25 for an exam. It’s $ 40 for an exam and contacts fitting — and the service is very good. Eddy (the owner) and the optometrist both are very friendly and knowledgeable.
