Fantastic spring rolls. Excellent flavor on the panang curry, though I wish the broth was a bit thicker. Beautiful mango sticky rice, but again wish it had a little more coconut sauce/juice. Well worth stopping here for your Thai fix.

This is the worst take out I’ve received in years. As a huge Thai fan I was looking forward to this meal. We ordered at 5:30 and our food ETA was 6:15. 6:30 rolls around and our food still isn’t here. We call them and they promise it will be there by 7. We didn’t get our food until 7:20. At this point, our food is lukewarm at best and the peanut sauce has settled due to being out so long. Even if it had been hot, the taste was very bland. I’ve been to many Thai places to varying degrees of deliciousness but this is leagues below any place I’ve ever been to. I would discourage anyone from ordering here.

Got the fried rice with shrimp and it was certainly NOT cheap for the amount you get. Whats with the tiny portions? Also the place was completely empty when I went here. Overall I will not go here again

Went here the other night and it was amazing! My friend and I were both very happy with our meals, and the vegetarian options were good. The pad thai and miso soup were good, and so are the flat noodles with beef. Plan to go here again before leaving Chicago!

I would give this place 5 stars, but I just can’t see my self doing that in case I missed something, lol. Very consistent with every order as long as we’ve been coming. Oh yeah, the tempura isn’t as crisp as I would like, but still very good. You really can’t miss coming here.

Ordered form here once before, and my memory of details are hazy, but I’m sure I would have given it 3 stars. However, stopped by here FAMISHED the other night, and thought it was pretty darn good. The lowdown: Service — bad. The server was dour and kept coming back every 4 seconds to get our order — in a pushy way. But this is hardly a fancy place, and the service certainly wasn’t slow, so whatever. There is an older lady that stopped by our table once(by the way, we were the only ones in there) and she seemed really nice. Crab Rangoon — great pastry on these tasty little bites. Small, creamy, yummy Curry Puffs — amazingly crumbly wonderful pastry covering a savory inside. I thought the inside could have been a LITTLE more interesting, but I can’t really put my finger on how. Again, though, pastry is a tough thing to do, and this was perfection on the outside Basil chicken — no gristly parts, everything was fresh and crispy, sweet and savory. Good! Pad Thai — one of the best — the chicken again wasn’t mystery chicken — it was well cooked nice looking breast on a savory bed of noodles and didn’t taste as much like wet dog as pad thai usually does — and I always love it when there are crushed peanuts :) Again, tasty, pretty much a hole in the wall, but solid and fresh!

Had basil chicken lunch special. It was really good and with the cucumber salad, salad with ginger dressing and the miso soup, it was just the right amount, even for someone with an big appetite like mine! It was empty as it was almost 3p but would come back and try Crab Rangoon as an option instead of cucumber salad.

I haven’t had Thai like this in a very long time. Everything was great, especially the basil chicken.

I would never have come here, if it wasn’t for Unilocal. One day, I was in the area and had a sudden craving for Thai food. I spotted Beyond Thai on Unilocal and after reading the reviews, I felt convinced and decided to give this place a shot. From the outside, it looks like a «hole-in-the-wall» type of restaurant and I hesitated to go in at first. But, my Thai food cravings were too strong to just pass by. The restaurant was busy with customers, which gave me a sense of relief. I ordered a pad thai and after checking in through Unilocal,we were able to get a free side of crab rangoons. Yay! The pad thai was absolutely delicious! It was a huge portion and was by far one of the best pad thais I’ve had. We ended up coming here for lunch and ordered the lunch specials, which was actually an amazing deal. Service was great both times. They really deserve a lot more attention then they probably get. If you’re hesitating like me, do give Beyond Thai a try! I’m sure they won’t disappoint.

Excellent prices and wonderful owners. Tucked into a nondescript shopping center, the place is a bit of a dive, but it does have good food. I got a large Tom Kha soup with tofu and it was incredibly tasty. I read another Unilocal review that said this was the best Tom Kha in Chicagoland, and I don’t doubt it for a second. It had a light, creamy coconut broth that was both savory, a little sweet and limey. The lime chicken is another great hit. Lightly battered and fried, it’s perfection on a bed of rice. If you’ve ever had walnut shrimp at Chinese restaurant, this dish is reminiscent of that. Finally, if you check in on Unilocal, you get either a free Rangoon or edamame. I got the Rangoon which came with a sweet and sour chili sauce. Also very good. Delicious meal for under $ 17 and it took less than 10 minutes to place and receive my order.

Tried Beyond Thai for the first time tonight after finding them on Unilocal. My daughter had the pad Thai and I had the mixed vegetables. We both had the fried tofu. We loved everything and I’m thrilled to find a good Thai restaurant that has decent vegetarian options in the north shore area. We had good attentive service and we will definitely be back!

Pad Thai is very good. Not super oily but just the right touch of spices. Have tried other curries as well and also very good. Have gone here for a few years.

So good! I’ve driven by this place a million times and when looking for a good Thai dinner, I was surprised to find it so close to home. Definitely a good meal. Loved the potstickers more than the crab rangoon — and I love crab rangoon — but don’t get me wrong, they were still good. Shared the chicken red curry bowl, Mongolian beef and sesame chicken. I can’t complain about any of the flavor, it was all great. The portions could possibly be bigger, but for the Mongolian and sesame chicken, those were $ 8 each, the curry bowl was $ 9. With our bill amounting to $ 41, and having eaten all that food — I’d say it was worthwhile eating. I’d go back!

You know people always talk about dinky«hole in the wall» places that are phenomenal? Beyond Thai is definitely«beyond» any type of restaurant thai food in the northshore area. I’ve ordered carry out many many times but tonight I dined in. Located in a nondescript parking lot in a strip mall(lots of spaces) is this magical place where the owner is super sweet and each dish is made to order. What makes Beyond Thai different I feel– is the quality of each dish. Everything seems«authentic» as in it just tastes different. My favorite things are the tom kha soup which is loaded with protein and spices, and the red curry. The soup is amazing because the broth is actually thick and rich with lemongrass and leaves and type types of onion. It does not taste watery– like other places. The red curry is yummy and I love the crunch of the bamboo shoots. With a Unilocal check-in you also have your choice of free edamame or crab Rangoon. I’ve only had the edamame which was standard. The owner herself served us and was so sweet. She genuinely reminded me of being in a friends kitchen-and her mom cooking. It’s super personal and welcoming. After our meal she was so sweet and cut up Texas oranges for us! Like that’s something an Asian mom would totally do– or any mom! I can’t wait to eat my leftovers tomorrow morning!

Ordered take out for lunch. Had green curry with brown rice(extra $ 1) which was good, with it came crab ragoon, miso soup and house salad which was good. Husband had the thai basil which was good and he chose the tom yum soup which wasn’t spicy but was better than the miso soup. So for lunch time, you get a four course for $ 7.50 which isn’t bad. Also to top it off I had the thai ice tea which of course was on point.

One of the best Thai restaurants in the area. Delicious, authentic Thai food, freshly prepared by the owner, who is always so happy to see you. Fairly inexpensive, compared to other Thai restaurants in the northern suburbs. Small, cozy restaurant with fast service. Some of my favorites include Rama Noodles with chicken, Pad Thai, Panang Steak, spicy Basil Beef. The daily lunch special($ 7.50 for salad, soup, appetizer, and entrée) is a tremendous value.

Yet another Unilocal Mobile App find! Tip — BYOB. Tip on top of tip — Unilocal mobile check in yields free app! Totally delivering some affordable Thai — for the wife and I with an app and two entrees coming in at $ 30. On a Friday night, the place was no where near crowded, and was jamming some groovy mellow covers of popular standards. My wife really enjoyed her walnut chicken. I tried the recommended Emerald fave which was good, but I was disappointed to discover the mentioned crab was artificial — yeck! Not a fan. The crab ragoons were decent, I have had worst. For date night, I found the TV with news coverage to be distracting.

The 7.50 lunch special lured me in… but i was not impressed. We ordered the pad thai and chicken green curry. It comes with soup, salad, and a side. I got tom yum soup and crab rangoon with my green curry. First off. the tom yum chicken was very tasty! It was a little too hot in temperature, but I didnt mind. I notice that they skimped on the chicken a bit, but the flavor of the soup made up for it. Then came the green curry. In appearance it looked great. only to find it tasting salty. I thought maybe it was just my palette, so I let my sister try it and she felt the same. I couldnt finish my food. The crab rangoon was pretty soggy too. I tried her pad thai shrimp. Noodles were a bit soggy and why did the shrimp taste fishy in a rotten sense. Definitely. not fresh. Again i thought maybe it was just my palette, but my sister felt the same. Though the food came out fast, the service attentive… I will not be coming back. There are much better options in the area.
