Literally one of my favorite food places in town. The pancakes are fluffy, the food delicious, the staff friendly, and the portions super big for a low price. It does get crowded sometimes but it’s honestly such a nice homey place. Everything is not super new but I feel like with a place like this, it adds to the charm. I would definitely stop by for a quick breakfast or dinner type lunch.

Absolutly love the food. Come in once a week. Wish there was a better waiting area though.

So I ate here three times and I have a good impression of the diner Pros: * Good prices with good portion sizes especially on weekdays because of their specials deals. * Satisfy with service(nice and snappy during slower hours). *Coffee refills are steady and constant. *Free parking lot Cons: * My pancakes always had this sour aftertaste that cannot be masked by syrup. I recommend to never get pancakes. *Adding additional sides is surprisingly pricey.($ 3 for bacon or a small fruit bowl) Lastly this is a traditional American Diner that is better than the surrounding breakfast places in the area.

I brought my niece and nephew here for brunch yesterday. There was no problem finding parking on the street! Getting seated was quick! I dint like the waitress so much pointed out the obvious when I was asking what was popular at this place… Plus she didn’t give enough silverware til I had to ask for it. I enjoyed the butcher shop skillet and the Annie’s crispy crunchy french toast over the Stuffed french toast! The kids ordered the Chocolate chip pancakes and the Mickey mouse pancakes but didn’t end up finishing their plate so I’m not too sure if they just didn’t like their order of it was just too much for them. Noise level was average and prices were reasonable for portion!

Great bang for your buck, totally worth the drive to Skokie. My kids always love the Mickey mouse pancakes. I love the omelettes. The sweeter options for desserts are huge!

Ordered the Gyro Omelet which came with side of toast or 2 pancakes. I of course chose the pancakes which were delicious. The omelet was massive and included feta cheese, onions, and tomatoes. It was quite good. I suppose the gyro didn’t have that off the rack texture to it, but I think that was due to them being in small bits and thrown on to cook. Still plentiful in the omelet although could have used more if we’re being obese elitists. The omelet came with that cucumber sauce(tatziki), which was a great touch. Ordered a chocolate milk, which you can’t really fuck up. A lot of food at a fair price.

The food is awesome! Esp worth the money! The service however is subpar, which is understandable because they’re always super busy. However the reason why I took the stars away, it takes forever for us to get service. If you need something, you gotta wait a while to get it because your server is too busy!

Well put together skillets. Over easy eggs cooked perfectly. The sweetness of the pancakes is what keeps me coming back! 3 stars because our waiter never followed up with its during our last visit. We waited and waited, walked up to the cashier to request our bill. Aside if that the staff id’s friendly and they get your order right the first time

Checks all the boxes of a full-service diner. Tons of menu options, food was well prepared.

Went there with a friend for a brunch. The place is not impressive. The coffee was good and the server was attentive at seeing that my cut was filled. However the food left something to be desired. I had a gyro egg skillet. The gyros were overly rubbery and the potatoes were kind of dry. The eggs were satisfactory. I ordered over easy and they were reasonably cooked. The pancakes served with them were bad. They were kind of hard and seemed like they were under a warming light for way too long. Our waitress was good and she was attentive but the food left something to be desired.

Nice and friendly atmosphere– our breakfast was served fast. Had eggs, sausage, hash browns, and toast. Scrambled eggs were delicious! Parking available on the rear. Server was attentive and very nice. Would definitely come back when in the area.

I love diners for the convenience & hot food, but I guess my expectations exceed what they have to offer. I ordered the chicken ceasar wrap & boyyy was that chicken dry. It was white meat which understandably can tend to be drier than dark meat, but wow was it dry. I also got two chunks of chicken cartilage when biting into the wrap. The side of fries were the same fries from every fast food place. In the end, the amount of tortilla wrap left over from the ends were left to waste. The pancakes were a little undone as in the batter in the middle were still runny. My bad diner experiences made me realize I’ll cook breakfast in bed my damn self.

We went to Annie’s on Oakton Avenue for breakfast this morning. The place was packed. We had to grab a number. We got seated pretty quick, but we are Had to wait about 7 minutes before our order was placed. We were pouring water and we noticed the glasses weren’t clean so we asked for another glass. My buddy got his glass and it has F – in lipstick on it REALLY! Don’t you think the waitress would have checked the second glass before she brought it out & who the hell is cleaning their dishes in the first place? They need to do a better job cleaning their dishes. It took about 25 minutes to get our food. My buddy and I both ordered a New York strip steak medium rare(it was medium) w/crispy hash browns & eggs over easy. Other then the steak being a little over cooked for my taste it was a pretty good meal. For the cleanliness I give it 2 stars, for the service 3 stars and for the food 4 plus. Overall 3 star rating.

I’m always cautious of any 4.5 star places but… the hype is real! I had the Gyro skillet with tatziki sauce and it was the best skillet I’ve ever had. The perfect mixture of crumbled feta cheese under thin juicy cuts of gyro was so delicious, and as hungry as I was I still needed to take almost a third home! Huge portions, unbeatable value! The only cons were the lack of service as we were thirsting for someone to give us water and the pancakes were really bland. Although they were very busy(as always, and rightfully so!) and their pancakes’ signature«A» gave the meal a nice personal touch. All in all, honestly, my favorite brunch place and cannot wait to go back!

Fantastic breakfast! Got here around 10:45 on a Sunday morning. Only had to wait 20 min or so. And they brought out small cups of freshly squeezed OJ! We both ordered to 2 eggs with bacon, which came with 2 pancakes and hash browns. The food came out quickly, and we each got FOUR eggs! We each added pecans to the cakes. Coffee was tasty, not too acidic. Service was fast and friendly! Just GO!

I found this place cause I work nearby and had time before I had to go into the office so I Unilocaled a diner and found this place. I love this place. I’m actually currently shopping for a home in Skokie and this place made me feel so warm and friendly. I came by myself and ordered crab cakes benedict and a fresh squeezed oj. Everything was delicious. Cheap and the service was great. Even though they were crowded and busy, my server checked on me at least 4 times. The food was great. Best benedict I’ve ever had. The well done hash that came with it was perfect. This place is great. Clean, traditional, and very family oriented. I saw people in and out greeting each other… felt perfect environment for me to move here. Love this place. Can’t wait to come back again with my husband

This place is so good! Great prices for great food. I got the special French toast with cream cheese and a bunch of deliciousness(see photo below) for 8.99. I will say the wait when you’re done is a pain. Our waitress kept passing our table for over 30 min when we were clearly finished. They have a nice and friendly staff so I couldn’t really complain that much. The ambiance is so cute and quaint like an old diner you would go to with your family in your childhood. I’m usually not that big on breakfast but That French toast had me like :)

First time, and Annie’s has me. I definitely want to come back again. It’s cheap, and they give you a lot. I like the comfortable atmosphere– it’s clean and homey. Dinery~ if that’s an adjective. They offer breakfast and lunch starting from 11:00 am. The service is really good, the coffee is decent, and the food is really good for how much they give you. I got the chicken caesar wrap, which came with soup and potato salad(the other option was fries). The chicken noodle soup was delicious and it didn’t taste like any old progresso soup. It was good quality. The wrap was humongous(I took the other half home). My friend got a combo, which came with 2 pancakes dusted with powder sugar, 2 bacon strips, and a sausage link. She enjoyed her food as well, and we both were full and happy by the end! Just a nice diner~ great place to talk and eat without feeling rushed.

I really really wanted to love this place but the food fell a bit flat for me. I came here on a Sunday morning after I found the line at Walker Brothers to be too long. I was excited to find the fresh smells of breakfast coming from the building and loved the décor inside. Felt like a nice comfortable family breakfast place. The service was a little off because it seemed like there were more bus boys than servers taking orders. We had to hail down our waitress after 20+ minutes of having our menus closed and waiting around for someone to come to us. They were full and busy but probably adding another waitress would’ve been helpful to improve service. In terms of the food, we tried special club #1, olé omlette with an upgraded strawberry french toast. The special club #1 says it comes with 2 eggs but it actually came with 4. What a wonderful surprise! We also subbed the normal meat with turkey patty which was a bit salty but still good. The pancakes sadly were not the best. While the presentation was nice, it had a hard crust and was not soft or fluffy as you’d want a pancake to be :( The olé omlette was gigantic and the chorizo, onions, and jalapenos were generous. It came with has browns which were decent and a side of salsa — all normal and nothing that popped out as memorable. It took $ 1.50 to upgrade from regular toast to strawberry french toast and it was totally not worth it. Overall, it was a hearty breakfast but as much as I wanted to love this place, it was not a solid breakfast that left me feeling super happy as breakfast normally does.
