Great atmosphere. Had one of the best cappuccinos I’ve ever had. Definitely coming back!

Definitely one of our favorite coffee shops in our travels around the US. We ordered a cappuccino that came neatly presented. Then later ordered a mocha latte which was creamy and sweet. Didn’t need to add any sugar to any of the drinks. Loved that they had roasted candied pecans. Probably the only vegan treat available. Hope to stop by again one day along the travels.

The place is nice, however their baristas are incompetent. I ordered a simple drink that I normally do at every coffee shop I’ve been to around the world. I was told that they cannot add flavoring to iced coffee or espresso shots. Seriously! There is a whole wall of flavoring behind you. It’s not that difficult.

This is a great coffee shop. They have limited food selections, but it’s what you expect from a proper coffee shop(cones and cookies.) There is a wine store connected, so if you are in the mood of some libations, there is that possibility too. The coffee is delicious and there is plenty or room to spread out. the internet is fast and easy to connect to. In the late afternoon, there were still plenty of open tables. They bring your coffee out to you, which is nice to not have to wait impatiently at the counter. Will definitely come back when I am back in town!

I was in Sioux Falls during a quick weekend trip and looking for a local place to do some work. Did a quick search on Unilocal, and booyah — came across this little gem of a place. A friend and I stayed for a few hours and tried the winter mocha, scones and several pour-over rounds of «barista’s choice.» The staff were super-friendly and made us feel right at home. Another highlight was the large space and variety of seating options, including tables with room to spread out and a few more intimate nooks for quiet conversation. Takeaways: prices were reasonable, the environment was welcoming, and the coffee was solid. No real complaints from me! Cheers, and I’ll definitely be back if I’m ever in the area again.

Came here to have a one on one business meeting plan, I’m not a coffee drinker but I still got the masala latte anyways. This drink was so good but it seriously kept me up ALL night :) GOODSTUFF.

They served my girlfriend a coffee drink with a SPIDER in the cup. NO excuses. Will be reporting to the city inspector.

I’d been hearing about this place forever. Some of my friends would go here and they’d buy beans from here and I’d at least get to try the beans; but a large part of the Coffee Experience is going to the actual café, which always eluded me. Now finally I found myself in Sioux Falls and with this came an opportunity to go to Coffea. I arrive with Sioux Falls and Coffea frequenter Jesse F. At 8:00. On the dot. Coinciding perfectly with the reversal of the Open/Closed sign. Huh? How can such a thing be happening? Coffea Always closes at 10. We walk up to the store front and gaze dejectedly inside so as to at least get a glimpse of the place. So close, and yet So far. A thin pane of glass separates me and a coffee experience I’ve been waiting for. Normally it’s more like a thousand miles of separation. Finally in desperation, we walk into an adjacent wine store and sneak in that way. They were definitely closed. But we murmured to them hopefully, «Listen. We came all the way from Ohio and we really need to try this place. And we’re fixing to get in our car and drive for some hours before finding a place for night and we need Caffeine. Otherwise we might fall asleep, have a wreck and die.» She made us drinks. Espressos, cappuccinos, lattes; with the shiny La Marzocco. She had compassion on us and made all four of us drinks and she didn’t even seem perturbed. A shaggy male barista even paused from his cleaning to make small talk with us. I was impressed. Not only was the service excellent but the place was cool and the coffee quality was great. Later as I was driving through the dark and wild prairies of Minnesota, my perfect cup of cappuccino suddenly lurched sideways in my hand, then completely upside down and at least 10% spilled in my cleanish car. It was still worth it. I wonder, if there was no such thing as Unilocal; no possibility of getting negative feedback by means of a one star review or positive feedback by means of such a thing as the review you are reading; I wonder if they still would have been so nice? Probably so. And even if they wouldn’t have, the coffee still would have been good.

The place has ambience and good coffee(a little perfumy on the espresso). The prices are quite high. But… it has the market mostly cornered on higher end coffee lounges in this area. I’m guessing that’s why it can get away with these prices. A little Art Deco, a little rustic, a little warehouse chic. It’s comfortable, it’s coffee, it’s cool… but a little too cool.

Stopped here for a pastry and latte driving through Sioux Falls. Both were good. It was a little pricey but they seemed to put a lot of care into their drinks.

The best coffee place we have found on our 1600 mile trip from New York. This takes coffee service to another level. The staff are friendly, mature and competent. The coffee is great. The facility and atmosphere is comfortable and spacious. THE place for coffee in Sioux Falls!!!

Wow — if I could give this place more than five stars, I would. It was highly recommended to me by someone I met the day before, and I’m so glad I decided to check it out. I love trying independent coffee houses when I travel, and I have to say, I think this one just went to the top of my list. Loved the industrial feel of the décor, and I thought the staff was incredibly friendly. One of the best hazelnut lattes I have every had, anywhere. Really creamy, and just the right amount of hazelnut flavor. I always judge my lattes on whether or not I have to add any sweetener, and no need — this was perfect. I also got an orange-cranberry scone, and again — YUM! I think they make their own baked goods there, and this scone was delicious! Some I get are just to sweet, but this one wasn’t. SOOOOO good, I’m pretty sure I’ll be going back again tomorrow and getting the exact same thing(I may actually have to go back this afternoon and get another latte — yes, I’m addicted to coffee). Good job Coffea Roasterie — you are doing everything right, so keep up the good work!

This is always a wonderful stop on our biweekly shopping excursions to SF. I love the traditional chai latte with soy milk, and I ask for«half as sweet». My husband always gets the caramel latte. Way better than Starbucks. The only reason they don’t get five stars is that seating here is awful. They are always busy and we are lucky to find a place to sit. Seating is groupings of recliner areas and a few small tables. You aren’t allowed to spill over to the adjacent wine area even though those tables are always empty. Last time we were here one girl had her feet up on the recliner chair across from her and was hogging the recliner to either side of her with coat and backpack as she played on her computer. It does seem like a lot of students come here to study on computers. That being the case, they either need to add seating or monitor chair hogs. Staff are always friendly.

The insights provided by fellow Pilgrim Mark H., written Anno Domini 2014, are in complete accordance with my own experience within this Temple Caffenensis. As I am merely a layperson to this sacrosanct institution, I feel like the acolytes dedicated to keeping the single-origin fire well lit are beyond reproach. Indeed, their unwillingness, nay, their Free Trade derived inability to smile, joke, banter or in any way connect on a human level with the neophyte worshipper paying tribute to Coffea only strengthens my belief in the power of the Holy Roast. My pilgrimages here were multiple. Every day for almost two fortnights did I visit these hallowed halls. The Charlie Brown, the Lumberjack, and the humble Americano were my drinks of choice, my paths to salvation. The Priests were deft and showed the light for only 20−35% more Denarii per cup than local competitors, including the treacherous pagans at Black Sheep, known to go so far as to greet and banter with the denizens. Coffea engages in no such profanities and this lack of human connection, of course, brings us only closer to the one true God.

Coffea is the quintessential overpriced coffee shop, and I’m from Washington State, so feel free to go ahead and assume I’m better than you at judging all things artisan and hipster. Coffea should be celebrated for creating a vision and beating the odds to bring it into fruition. Frankly, creating a truly snobby coffee shop in South Dakota is a monumental challenge. The challenge is not creating the décor — the raw neo-industrial crossover look can be bought for a price. The stained concrete floors, suspended packing crates and artfully created niches for reading and highly intellectual conversation are not unique to this establishment. Neither is the challenge creating a superior coffee. With enough money, anyone can invest in the massive, over-engineered machines that take coffee from a mere beverage to a sacred liquid, requiring spiritual contemplation and appreciation. Granted, it would be difficult to differentiate normal good coffee from the Holy Black Ointment Coffea serves in a blind test, but loving Coffea isn’t about perceptible differences, it’s about faith. And Coffea wants your love, faith and devotion in its Sacred Merciful Grace to be blind — not double-blind tested. What Coffea has done to set them apart does not consist of wood or stone, liquid or metal, but consists of flesh and blood. The first step of any successful religion is to convert true believers, acolytes full of zeal to maintain the purity of the faith, eliminate apostasy and proselytize to the heathen. Coffea has found its apostles in its employees — Coffea’s Truest Believers. In the monastic tradition, the men are dressed identically. Each thin and scrawny, their hair is trimmed closely along the sides of their head, but kept long and combed on top, and each is allowed a different facial hair style depending on their position in the priesthood. This conformity keeps each man from standing apart from the rest, and reminds them that they are all equally inferior to the Holy Liquid they serve, but superior to the lay-people who come to pay their devotions to the Glorious Libation. Each have tattoos of visions they have been granted by the One True Drink, artful depictions of trees in a forest, or a songbird caught in flight, or a poem that came to them while meditating on the nature of Holy Drink. These zealots are what set Coffea apart from the mere idol-worshipers of other coffee shops. These True Believers refuse to smile, laugh or otherwise bring disrespectful cheer into the Holy Sanctuary of Liquid Elysium. They frown with judgement at any layperson who attempts to defile their peaceful sanctuary with sinful happiness. I saw one high priest, who was asked by an ignorant layperson to commit sin by defiling his raw sugar latte with cinnamon. This priest nobly refused, castigating the layperson for his ignorance and reminding him that the way of Our Roasted Lord is a path laid out by the artisanal choices of the priesthood and not in the wanton and willy-nilly application of spice. Such is the glory of Coffea. Come and worship.

Bar none best coffee in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This is real coffee, and for coffee snobs, you won’t be disappointed. I’m from Seattle, so I really appreciate well roasted and prepared coffee. Drip coffee, pour over, and espresso drinks are great. I even enjoyed the decaf espresso. It’s got great places to sit if you’re in the mood for reading, or studying. Many tables and a really neat vibe.

Hands down the best coffee shop in the Midwest! I have visited 4x and always impressed at the care they take to make the coffee drinks. I have also ordered their tea and it is equally as tasty. They roast their own beans and then use organic milk. They also create a design on your coffee. The butterscotch latte is the bomb, either hot or iced.
