La Fogota Mexican Restaurant

Lunch menu for $ 5.25 including drink is great. Friendly, prompt service, good food.

This place makes Taco Bell seem like a culinary powerhouse filled with Master Chefs. It’s an awful, awful place (I won’t call it a restaurant) filled with Microwave Jockeys and pre-​frozen food I would not feed my dog… literally, I sent it back. Chef Ramsey couldn’t help these people.
Went there with 4 family members on the recommendation of a friend. I ordered the sampler platter with chili rellenos, an enchilada, 2 tacos and a side of cheese dip.
The Good: The coke was good and the cheese dip was good.
The Bad: Everything else… all 5 of us agreed it was horrible. See below.
After placing my order I asked if it would be possible to add onions to the chili rellenos and was told I couldn’t b/​c everything was pre-made…first warning sign. When my food arrived the Chili Rellenos was nothing more than greasy ground beef with diced peppers and looked awful. I ate a few bites and had to stop. It tasted like someone took meat for dog food, boiled it, then pureed it, and stuck it in a taco shell and served it to me with rehydrated bell pepper bits.
So I tried the enchilada… and was barely able to choke down the first bite.
So I tried the tacos… also disgusting and flavorless.
I then looked at the rest of my family and saw everyone grimacing when they took a bite of «food.» I asked if everyone’s food was as bad as mine and they all concurred. This was the first time in years that I have sent food back. I left this place so I could visit the McDonald’s down the street.
