Scott Mumford Heating and Air

Referred to Scott by a friend. He came out and fixed our A/​C a couple months ago (for a reasonable price) and warned us that our A/​C and furnace are both very old (40+) and would probably need to be replaced sooner than later. Fast forward to yesterday. The furnace is rusted through and water from the condenser is everywhere. Called Scott and he said he wouldn’t feel right taking money to fix it since it was so old and was just going to break again very soon. Quoted me a price on new units. I did call another place to get a second opinion and was told the same thing and quoted a price that was nearly DOUBLE what Scott quoted. Scott’s team was at my house with new units at 7 am this morning. They are courteous and professional. I am hoping that with a new system, I won’t be needing Scott’s services for a while, but I will certainly recommend him to anyone needing HVAC repair. :-)

Scott came and installed a central AC/​heat system in our home. After I contacted him he came to provide an estimate pretty quickly and came to do the job promptly after we decided we wanted to move ahead. Scott himself showed up on the job and his guys seemed like a cohesive team as opposed to just some day laborers being sent to do the dirty work. They were in and out in a day and left the place pretty clean. The only critique I have so far is that he did not mention permitting issues and that’s something a homeowner should be aware of – are permits required and if so and you don’t get one what are the risks? Those are issues that the contractor needs to know and inform the client about. Our unit is still pretty new (like 3 weeks) so I will update if we have any issues! So far so good.

Had a/​c-​furnace unit replaced. We had a unit replaced on top of townhome, very efficient. Felt like they were in and out, all workers came in contact with were professional and nice. Unit working great and was best quote out of several we checked out.

Scott Mumford is who my landlord has me call when we have problems in any of the units that I manage. I’m pretty sure he installed all 3. Yesterday I called Scott due to one of the central units leaking inside the house. We lucked out that one of his crews was in the neighborhood and were here within an hour. Not only did they find the leak (which had been caused by the tenant not cleaning the filter as agreed which clogged the condensate drain) but they also checked and refilled the refrigerant and replaced the filter. They saved us a lot of money by clearing the clog without having to cut into the copper piping.

I needed a new heating and air system. In just over a months time I called 11 different companies for estimates. no one even came close to Scott’s price. I ended up paying a fraction of what the other guys were asking for. What really impressed me was the fact that the crew did removal and installation in the same day!
