Came here today, placed our order online. We order two Mr Garden veggies sandwiches. They were both missing the cheese, the garlic aioli and I had order mine with Dijon mustard which was also missing. By the time we noticed it we were already home so we had to dress up our sandwiches otherwise we would have basically eaten bland vegetables wrapped in a tortilla. Not sure we’ll be back. Nearly 30 dollars for two tortillas with veggies in it? No thanks.

The sandwiches we got were very good. I got the RB with everything on it. There was plenty of roast beef, and the red peppers, splat, caramelized onions, and other toppings were very tasty, and added a lot to the sandwich. The bread was very good. My wife had the Wrap Me Up. She enjoyed it. The order taker was very nice, and the sandwiches were served in a reasonable amount of time for a Sunday afternoon with light business. My complaint with the place is that a few of the tables were noticeably dirty, one with spilled lettuce all over the place, another with liquid spilled on it. They were never cleaned as long as we were there, despite having employees pass them by a number of times. That worries me because if no attention is paid to the front of the house, how confident can I be about the places you can’t see?

It’s called Old School but they don’t have grilled cheese and tomato soup. They should change their name. So sad. They also have one vegetarian option which is disappointing. Hopefully soon Simi will get some good restaurants which the Revibe going on. We need a Joi Café, Veggie Grill, and a Dog Haus in Simi!!!

Great food, horrible service. Spanish-speaking lady at the counter got my order wrong. Sandwich came out with no bacon. I let a guy know behind the counter. Minutes later when I’m done with my food she comes out with a small piece of bacon saying that I changed my mind and she felt like arguing. I said take the bacon back. I’m done anyways. Then she yells across the room«He doesn’t want it»(in Spanish). It’s great to have small businesses in the community but when owner isn’t there it shows. WILLNOTRETURN!!!

Been here several times. You can really tell everything is fresh and homemade. Have enjoyed sandwiches, salads, everything ordered. Still exploring the menu so don’t have a favorite yet.

+ owner & employees are nice + food is great(particularly like the egg salad sandwich) — dinner hours. at least 9 would be helpful. 10 would be ideal. — a bit pricey. i remember when johnny rockets was around, i paid maybe $ 6 for a egg salad sandwich(best ever btw). here its close to $ 9. — too rigid, especially for a mom & pop kind of shop. «can i get extra of moms secret seasoning»? nope, doesn’t come packaged like that. pushing the spicy ghost cheese… «can i sample it»? nope, it comes pre sliced and is too expensive to sample. the cons aren’t that big of a deal, and certainly wont stop me from recommending this place. but when i’m deciding on where to go to dinner, and its 50⁄50 between here and somewhere else… they might just tip the scales ever so often out of their favor. for a small business, that doesn’t bode well.

So I decided to try it again and I had a much better experience this time. The restaurant was clean, friendly staff and good food.

Best Sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. Best(Aside from a couple favorite Ma n Pa Deli’s) Sandwhich shop PERIOD. They have another location in the SCV. Hopefully they will expand their way out to Santa Monica!

Hands down the BEST sandwiches! I have tried many of them and go though phases of craving a certain sandwich for a time and then moving on to my other favorites. For cold sandwich kind of day — definitely Papa Marty’s — love the big chunks of tomatoes and pickles! For a hot sandwich kind of day — its a toss up between the Haystack and the RB. Both amazing! Love that everything is made fresh and from scratch! And I am always excited to see what the little special desert try has on it — all homemade and divine! Someday, I will move on to the salads which I hear are also amazing — just can’t get enough of the sandwiches yet!

I like the food here a lot but the last time we came we ordered, we ate and about halfway through our lunch proceeded to order a sandwich to go for someone else. We figured it would be ready by the time we were done but we finished our food and continued to wait for over 30 minutes. Plenty of people came in, ordered and received their food. I wasn’t in a hurry but once it had been 40 minutes waiting for ONE sandwich I finally asked one of the girls working if our sandwich was going to be ready anytime soon. It turns out they thought it was an online order? We were the only two people in the store when we originally ordered it so I’m not sure how this mix up happened but it makes me hesitate to come back.

This little joint deserves your business. The staff is super friendly, the décor is super cool, the menu is super diverse. Pretty much any sandwich ya want here you can get, so come give it a whirl. I got a tri tip dip sandwich and the meat was perfectly rare and work, in addition to nice melted swiss and garlic butter on my bread. I ate it super quick because I was in love with it. I was amazed that I was the only one inside and really hope that they are doing enough business to keep the doors open now, because I know that I want to come back.

I feel like the party pooper. I was not impressed at all. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The young man taking my order asked if it was my first visit and pointed out some favorites on the menu. He gets five stars. I ordered a turkey sandwich with the works. All the individual ingredients were good quality on their own but it was the most boring turkey sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. It was served with a side of Italian dressing which I assume was supposed to be the show stopper, the thing to set it apart from all other turkey sandwiches, but I didn’t think it complimented anything and clashed with the pickles. My husband was more adventurous and ordered one of their unique hot sandwiches. He said it was good, but not good enough that he thought he’d come back. By the time he ate the second half the roll was becoming soggy. Sandwiches for two and a plastic cup of water is nearly $ 20.

I wanted healthy food and not a lot of time. I found old school. I ordered a tuna on wheat and damn was it good. Highly recommend. The reason i give a 4 not a 5 is because i only had one sandwich and if came with a pickle or some carrots on the side a five it would have received.

I’ve past this place many times when cutting through the two freeways. I had read the previous positive reviews and seeing they had vegetarian options I decided to give it a try. When stepping in I noticed the great layout, very clean, and cool overall design of the place. It definitely takes you out of the strip mall vibe. I took a quick look at the menu written out on the chalkboards and decided to go with the” Mc Gregor’s Garden.” When the sandwich came out I thought it was rather small for the price, width and height-wise. I opened up the sandwich to see what we were working with and noticed they really skimped on the vegetables. The avocado was almost non-existent, very light with the spinach, and two pinner slices of zucchini. The sandwich itself wasn’t terrible, the veggies were fresh, bread was great, but just really lacking volume of ingredients. I don’t mind paying similar prices to «Meat» item sandwiches, but you’ve got jam some veggies into them. I also left the establishment still wanting to eat more as the sandwich was not filling. Let’s just say at those prices and what you receive I would not do again. Plenty of decent places in the area that you can get more bang for your buck. Pinner Sandwich 2.5 Star

Not the greatest. The bread is hard and the sandwich is a little bland. I wouldn’t come back here again. The best sandwich places make you want to come back again and again. The ones that have made me come back again and again were in Sedona, AZ(Euro Deli) and in Ontario, CA if you can believe(Corner Deli). Unfortunately those are both far. They need to have a deli around here similar to those two I listed. They are the best Deli’s I have come across during my travels. Granted, I have yet to go to NY. ;-P The problem with hard bread is when you bite into it, everything, including the dressing you just put in there, flows out annoyingly all over the place. Makes eating a sandwich a challenge. :-/ I lost a pickle as a casualty in the Great Deli Sandwich War of 2015. You will be missed, Private Pickle.(fell on the ground due to this issue of hard bread making everything flow out.)

Wow! My wife and daughter swore by this sandwich shop but I had never tried it. Today they brought it up as a lunch option and I’m glad they did! The restaurant(more of a tiny sandwich shop) is in a small strip mall off Madera Road. There is plenty of parking but it can get a bit busy. It’s clean but it’s small. We chose takeout and brought the delicious little bites of heaven home with us. The employees were friendly and the service was quick. If you like subs and sandwiches this place is a must-try. My Italian sub was absolutely fantastic. Fresh, well sized and very tasty. This place makes Subway look like food from the middle school lunch line… seriously. 5 stars!
