I’d give it a half if I could. This place is worst then Chinese food on skid row. Oh the flavor is the only thing worth mentioning from the chicken or(cartilage and skin) in my burrito. This is a 4 star place if you enjoy textures from a 3rd world country burrito. My husband ordered the«amazing tri-tip I read about on the reviews and it was like a bean burrito with a few shreds of meat. They should call it a Whole BEAN Burrito with TRI-Tip FLAVORING! They don’t serve tacos because it’s not easy to hide the scraps they fill in there burritos. I have to say, very disappointed in my Unilocal community. I will Never forget this place, especially when I feel like telling my worst enemy about this awesome little Mexican place in Simi Valley. Hahaha. Check out my pics

Found not one hair but Two hairs in my burrito. I’m not one to complain but that’s disgusting and I return with the food & they start making another burrito? Like no, for what so I can find another hair. asked for a refund and she said ok but now I can’t give you the burrito. As if I wanted it, no you scared me off enough.

I have never tried the chicken because I have never gotten past the beef plate. Beef, beans, corn tortillas, and their salsa – a slice or two of beef in the tortilla, add salsa, fold like a flat taco, and it is so simply and amazingly good. Service? Who cares? Good enough. Go here for the flavors.

We went to try this place tonight because of the good reviews on yel and I have to say we were very happy we did:) the service was great and so was the food:) we had the tritip and chicken burritos and they both are very good along with the salsa. Can’t wait to go back and try other things on the menu.

Great authentic Mexican food. hubby loved it. He ordered the chicken wet burrito and said that the chicken was flavourful and delicious! Super low key vibe with nice traditional music and simplistic décor. No need to dress up for any occasion at this place ;)

It’s hard for me to eat out at Mexican restaurants because I can never get satisfied if there is no authenticity. At Pollo Corona Grill, I receive the authentic feels and so much more. The meats are marinated so well that it feels like I just ate a piece of heaven. Their tri-tip and chicken combos are so good that my family got catering from them for my birthday last year. I just had their chicken nachos on this particular visit today and it’s like red enchilada sauce and chicken made love to a bunch of tasty chips, sour cream, and cheese. It’s gonna be really hard to resist to coming to this place eventhough I’m trying to eat healthier!

Great chicken and tri tip. The salsa is great. The issue of the restaurant is not that big, but the plus side is that it has an outdoor seating place also. They do serve beer so that’s always a plus.

This is a must stop when going through Simi Valley. It’s the place to get Mexican style grilled chicken the way it was meant to be, not like a chain restaurant that you find on every corner. Simple menu, cheap prices, quick and friendly service, consistently great food — a perfect place to go on the way to or from the movie theater down the street!

Ordered the chicken nachos for my boyfriend which were so tasty. I had the chicken and Tri tip combo the chicken was juicy but the Tri tip was my favorite! Very much like a spot in Oxnard called el polo norteno. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Very clean restaurant! Nice food presentation. True mexican rice added to the marinated shredded chicken burrito, not too much sour cream, and enough cheese to see its guey melted awesomeness. The tortilla is as if it was homemade and it very well could be. The tortilla had the homemade consistency and had the great brown toasted spots from a proper heating prior to filling. I am all about a great shredded chicken burrito and this was it! I posted this review because my taste buds are happy and I felt this restaurant needed a current review on their burritos. Afterall, I found them from Unilocal!I would give five stars, but my burrito wasnt wrapped tight enough and it opened up while eating, must be common because they included a fork when they gave me my order! One more think, the salsa and chips were(singing) awesome with a good kick to the salsa!

I work near El Pollo Corona, and sometimes struggle with the decision to eat anywhere else. They keep the doors open all the time, which makes the place pleasantly breezy so it almost feels like a covered patio. The girl taking orders is very fast and friendly, and will remember your order if you go there for a while and order the same thing. Exit to your right after you order to find a small covered side patio with palm trees. I think the prices are low. Items are priced to the nickel, which makes it feel like they’re only charging what they need to. A while back, they raised prices a little bit, but I didn’t care and honestly felt like they deserved more money. The grilled chicken is extremely good, served with an almost unnatural red color and in a huge portion. But the main event for me is the tri-tip, the lomo. I always get: 8 pc tri-tip plate, with corn tortillas. Sliced thin and grilled on high heat, the meat comes out with grill marks and little crispy pieces of incompletely trimmed fat. It’s served in one of those school lunch plates with the dividers: in one section, a serving of extremely fresh salsa, and in the other, pinto beans. For the chileheads: roll the dice and order grilled japapeños.

Anyone who gives this place less than 4 or 5 stars should never eat out again. You don’t go here for 5 star table side service, because you don’t get it. You come here for unbelievably good chicken, pork chops and tri-tip, and the freshest salsa I have ever tasted. I think the vegetables used in this salsa must come out of the ground at the farms down the street and straight into the kitchen at El Pollo Corona. Advisory for my fellow Gringos: «Tri-tip» is a cut of beef from the bottom sirloin, NOT just a slow bbq’d piece of meat. Don’t expect that here, dumba$$. At El Pollo Corona, it is sliced fairly thin, marinated then grilled. It’s excellent. I stumbled upon this place on the way back from a Ventura fishing outing, and will drive back just for the chicken and pork chops. Prices are the cheapest I have ever seen in California at a restaurant. $ 13.94 for a whole chicken, a tub of beans, tub of salsa, container of chips and 8 flour tortillas and you have lunch for 3 people… or 2 of me. I stopped in for a light lunch and stayed to try all of the meats and took a whole chicken to go. It was that good. Go for the food and wash it down with a Corona, because you know, it has«Corona» in the name. :)

El Pollo Norento /Carona is a place, like many of the other small local Mexican shops on LA, that I have driven past oodles of times and never tried. On my quest to try all of these places, I have been disappointed many times, but the excitement from enjoying Norento was overwhelming. Walking in the décor looks old and seating limited, but you can see the back grill with countless chickens cooking on it. The owner was sitting at the register and was super happy to great me with a smile. His demeanor actually made me feel good already. The menu is a bit limited. You can have tri-tip, chicken, or tri-tip and chicken. Fortunately these are two things that I love. I ended up getting a tri-tip burrito. The price(sub seven dollars after tax) was great as I mentally compared it to chipotle in my head. Everything tasted fresh and yummy. I liked the spicy salsa in the burrito, even though I did not enjoy my cup of salsa for the chips very much. The meat was good and burrito quite filling. It had the quality of a great burrito, but the speed and price of something much below it. I’ve actually gone back twice more in the last week before writing this review for another quick and easy burrito. This place has a new fan in me, and you should definitely give it a try!

Tri tip and chicken plate very good, excellent chicken. Whole pinto beans and tasty fresh salsa with some kick. Corn tortillas hot and fresh. Red sauce on wet burrito a bit bland but tri tip inside was very flavorful.

The food and service at this restaurant is A+! We ordered one Tri-Tip burrito and one Chicken Burrito and both were excellent! The Tri-Tip plate is excellent as well. The meat is juicy and the flavor is wonderful and the prices are low! The service at this restaurant is so good as they make you feel important and almost like family! I recommend this restaurant to everyone! You won’t regret it! Great Service! Great Atmosphere! Great prices! Great food!
