I had grand ideas for a coffee table, and Mark was able to bring them to life for me. He was very responsive to my emails, and was more than willing to work with my budget. Fortunately, his shop is very close to where I live and I was able to stop by, check out his sketches, and see the wood he was recommending for my table. I wanted a glass top for my table, and he went as far as to contact the company and get their recommendation for the thickness of the glass, and let them know I’d be contacting them. With that, they gave me a slight discount since Mark had referred me. Mark was so easy to work with, and I am in love with my coffee table. I get compliments on it all the time. I would highly recommend him for any of your woodworking needs!

My fiancé and I were looking for someone to build a custom pantry/​desk combo for our home. We contacted 8 different small businesses. Mark at Victory Design & Woodworking replied to us promptly. He came to our home to discuss our design and offered practical suggestions. He also identified ways we could reduce cost — for example, we thought we wanted a granite desk top, but between working with a separate contractor and the expense of the granite, we realized it’d be much better using a wood top. Mark came back to our home to talk us through the different estimates he provided us — what stands out is he wanted to be flexible with us in terms of cost and design. Ultimately, we decided to go with someone else based on cost. Mark’s quote was consistent with what many other contractors estimated. We are confident Mark would have done a great job. The fact that he’s local really stood out to us — we could have stopped by his shop to see the work in progress. We would strongly recommend Mark for anyone interested in having any kind of custom woodwork, particularly if you live in Capitol Hill.

Mark made a custom kitchen cabinet for me to allow me to put trash in a roll-​out cabinet. The work he did was exquisite, and matched the cuts in the existing cabinets perfectly. I could not have been more pleased — I had searched and searched for a woodworking design firm online, and Mark’s prices, customer service, and attention to detail were bar none. A few months later, I commissioned him to re-​do my fireplace mantel, and was once again thrilled with the results. He goes the extra mile to make everything beautiful. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
