Very odd experience. The doctor has this strange sense of humor. However, I don’t think doctors should joke about certain things. He has a tendency to make the patient feel they are at fault for something. I was going to do a procedure but didn’t trust the doctor so I canceled. It was for the best.

Why Unilocal will continue filtering my review? Unilocal: I am real. I have the papers to show I visited this clinic. It’s my opinion. Why should I shut up?

I will not return to this office. Initially I thought this would be a good experience because Dr. Singer sees both English and Spanish speaking patients, which is a clear asset in this community. After being assured on every wall in the office that my appointment time was reserved only for me(and that I should call to cancel 48 hours in advance for this reason) I was seen 45 minutes late. Granted, that’s typical in many offices and can often be attributed to a doctor taking time to listen to his/her patients. However, I came into the office with a clear idea of what was wrong, which was generally discounted by the doctor even though he told me that I obviously knew a lot and was observant. He indicated that he wanted to do exploratory surgery multiple times. I told him that I had already undergone the procedure, which he must have forgotten or not heard, because he asked me later if I was familiar with the procedure. I repeated that the previous procedure had indicated that I was fine, that this had happened before and my doctor had given me a specific drug which worked quite well. He ignored this information and wrote me a prescription for another drug.(I should mention that there was a drug rep in the office while I was there) When he asked if I was familiar with it I told him that my father had been given the drug, and it hadn’t worked for him. He suggested that my father took it wrong, told me that it was a good drug, and then told me that I needed complete blood work and urinalysis on top of the exploratory surgery. When asked how I felt about the procedure I told him that I didn’t want to take another day off of work(I didn’t even get to mention the other host of reasons I didn’t want the procedure because I got cut off). He jumped in and told me that immediately he knew from what I said that I was overworked and stressed, and if I didn’t take the time to have the procedure then I might not be able to work at all. I am certain, though, that this man is not a psychologist. When it became clear that I was getting upset at the things he was saying he began patronizing me and telling me that every time I get upset acid is flowing up from my stomach making my condition worse. I don’t know why he persisted if that was the case. I hate to write a bad review, but the only positive things that I can say about this experience are that his office assistant and nurse were excellent and professional and Dr. Singer repeatedly told me that I could call him if I needed anything or had questions. Additionally, Dr. Singer did not understand how I found him on my insurance website and had no idea that people review doctors on the internet.
