I dealt with Alex at Bonanza. He was friendly, professional, and my transaction was completed in a timely manner. I came in to sell a gold chain I had, and it was apparently worth more than I originally thought. Alex seemed very knowledgeable and I would recommend dealing with him for anyone looking to sell jewelry– I had a great experience here!

I walked in and was greeted by a young guy at the desk and said «Hello Im looking to get some information on some coins» he called the owner
The coins I have are from the 1800’s and international and even some with printing errors. The owner came to see what coins I had. He was eager to see what coins I had but did not engage into any small talk about my coins. He layed my coins (over 75) on the table examined them and said «Ill give you $ 20-​$ 25) I said «thats it» and he said «thats it» and walked away. He left me there to put my coins back in the containers. The vibe from the owner was creepy and snooty

This is an excellent coin shop with a huge inventory and very fair prices. The owner is very nice and lets us look through boxes of coins for hours. The location is across the street from a public garage and near many shops and restaurants. My son and I have been buying coins at Bonanza coins for two years.

Eight days after my earlier review on 3÷12÷13, I received an email from Sam Leidman, Julian Leidman’s son. Sam apologized, and explained that Julian «realized an error that he made and selfishly tried to reconcile it without [my] consent.» Sam continued by saying that his father’s behavior was «a poor business decision, and quite unethical.» I agree with Sam’s assessment.
Sam said that «the bank did not stop payment of that check to [me] and this matter is now closed.» I was not convinced that the check had cleared, so I waiting a full month before accessing the funds that came from the check to be sure that the check had cleared.
The check did clear, so it was not necessary for me to take Bonanza Coins to small claims court, and I now consider the matter closed as well.
I cannot say whether or not Julian intended to deceive me, or if his actions were just a result of bad judgment, but my interaction with Bonanza Coins left a bad taste in my mouth, and I will not be returning.

I went to Bonanza because I inherited 1874 silver candlestick holders from my mother. Alex took his time to research them and he provided me with a number of options to sell them. I got $ 780 for them, which I wasn’t expecting. He was very professional to work with and I believe he had my best interests at heart. I highly recommend Alex and Bonanza.

I first discovered Bonanza Coins a few years ago when I was looking to sell some gold coins. I called a number of places in the Silver Spring and D.C. areas and found that hardly any companies seemed to care about returning a phone call. The owner of Bonanza Coins, Julien, told me to come on by. He explained to me what I had, what the retail value was, and what he could pay as a dealer looking to re-​sell the coins. I appreciated the straight-​forward approach and promptly sold several thousand dollars worth of the gold coins. I continued to turn to Bonanza Coins when I had other pieces to sell. He was even kind enough to evaluate a huge collection of coins that had been donated for a charity fundraiser I was running. I later learned that Alex Dearth worked with him and that he bought gold and silver jewelry. I began selling my jewelry to Alex and my coins to Julien. I have tried a number of coin and jewelry buyers over the past few years but find Julien and Alex to be exceptionally honest, reliable people. I would put them both in the top tier of gold and jewelry buyers and often recommend them to other people.

I help to organize people’s homes in the area and came across Bonanza Coins several months ago when a client wanted to sell some estate jewelry. I dealt with Alex and have been going back to him for my current clients’ needs, have referred friends, and have used Bonanza myself whenever I come across gold or silver pieces that I’m not wearing anymore that could possibly be of some value. Alex answers all of my questions politely, has a vast knowledge of his business, is very courteous and I feel like he is as honest as they get. As long as they are in business, I will be a loyal customer.

I am new to the silver spring area and was wary about selling some jewelry that I hadn’t had a chance to with my previous gold buyer. However, the crew at bonanza are both fair in their prices and friendly in their attitudes. I have done business with them multiple times now and am extremely satisfied. I highly suggest dropping in!
