They didn’t stock the obscure part I needed, but we’re happy to look in the back twice. Nice guys… and helpful. They’re plumbers so don’t expect TLC. I rated 4 instead of 5 because the guy though the gas line he had was ¾″, I had to point out it was ½ line with ¾ fittings. He recommended a different place to try and even gave me a pad and pen to write on. Pleased.

Other posters are right this place is pretty bad. Horrible customer service, I walked in and they just kind of stared at me. Asked them for a simple part and the guy helping me did all he could do to avoid helping me. At one point he just handed me a 200 page catalog without saying anything. Anyway, I walked out found the part I needed online, it will be here in a few days.

I have been using Don Miller and Sons Plumbing Supply for several years. They are always friendly and knowledgeable and will special order the parts that they don’t have in stock. Thanks for being there! ~Marc

These guys are the best! Not only did they help me to determine the exact part I needed for my faucet they had in stock and at a great price as well. Very helpful and knowledgable. Very impressed with the customer service. I would definitely go back hto this place

This is the worst local business in Signal Hill. I’ve lived here for 13 years and always support local businesses. Today, December 27, 2013, I was helped by a tall skinny dude(with black metal framed glasses) working the counter and basically he lost a $ 100 sale because he does not understand«good customer service» will bring clients back to purchase even more supplies. Seriously, I’ll never go back to support this local business, and I will make sure to let my neighbors and friends know to avoid this business. For my plumbing supplies, I’ll gladly give my business back to Home Depot or Lowes. Note to Owner: Fire the guy at the counter… he’s terrible! Make Carlos in charge of working with the customers only.

They charged me $ 6 restocking fee for $ 24 in parts returned. I bought the stuff at 11:30am and returned the parts I didn’t need at 4pm. Really?

Want to walk into a place looking for good customer service attempting to find a replacement spicket for your water cooler, and then be stared at with the blunted affect of a psych patient on Thorazine after standing there waiting to be acknowledged? Then this place is for you. Also, the place smelled of dirty socks and, people that needed to take a bath. ============================================================= Marty’s & my experience here was less than memorable; we were virtually dismissed with a «We don’t carry that!» «Try the aquarium store on Willow, they carry stuff like that.» Then nothing, just a stare of(allegedly) leave, so we may get back to our bantering with uniformed contractors, customers and the like talking about, well, plumbing, who is doing what for the city; really just an atmosphere of, well let me say, how a woman feels when she goes to car dealer, a mechanic etc.,(where the ever present male chauvinistic infested environment) is looked down upon because of her sex. I never looked up at the person behind the counter, I just kept attempting to see if I could remove the washer from the spicket, or at least fix it; truthfully, I was suppressing my anger at his lack of customer service skills; no one seems to want to offer you help, or even a «let me check in the back just to be sure.» would have been nice. We ended up finding the part where I get my purified water to fill my jugs over in the strip mall where Thai Charcoal Pit Restaurant is located, for $ 4.35 (tax included); the owner there is always pretty stoic, but I’m familiar with him, and have become used to it; finding the part was what mattered most to me. Don Miller & Son’s Plumbing Supplies was recommended by ACE Hardware in Belmont Shore; perhaps they are useful for some, but to us, we felt like we were an inconvenience, and the feeble attempt to send us on a scavenger hunt was not appreciated either. Not even a «thanks, come again, sorry we were not able to help you.» Keep treating customers the way you treated Marty & I, and eventually you will end up losing your credibility; now I was not to the point of Juliet about Romeo but perhaps you guys could use the help of this person to help you deal with people of our genre who are not as knowledgeable as you in the [PLUMBING] Department:

I had to replace my water main at my house and called around for copper pipe pricing as well as trying to locate other hard to find items such as schedule 80 pvc. Out of about a half dozen local suppliers, this place had significantly lower prices, as well as the hard to find materials I needed. They have different prices for contractors and for non-contractors. Their non-contractor prices were better than every other store’s contractor prices. The service was professional and efficient. The do have a sign hanging at their service desk that informs you that in the event that they are busy, contractors will be served first. Overall my experience was good and the prices were even better.
