2 stars because the people around there are very uninviting. Husband questioned himself if it was only for the tenants in this low income housing are but it had Signal Hill and figured it was a PUBLIC park. But my 4 year old daughter did have a lot of fun on the park equipment. No one is ever there when we pass by and its small but pretty park for little children. Everyone that passed by gave us dirty looks like we were not suppose to be in the park. There was even a elementary aged kid who yelled out, «you’re not suppose to play in the park»! Calbrisas Park is nice little ½ acre neighborhood park in the small city of Signal Hill. It’s located on California Ave, south of Willow Ave, near Burnett St. It has everything a small neighborhood park should have… ** A couple of solid picnic tables with nearby BBQ’s for some summertime(anytime?) grillin’ action. ** A nice large grassy area that’s big enough to play football or soccer. ** There’s also a ½ B-ball court for shooting hoops. ** Of course there’s a couple playground areas for the kiddos, with soft surface«flooring» in case they fall.
Parking could be a little tough as there are a lot of apartments near the park. OVERALL: A nice little neighborhood park for that impromptu get-away from the concrete jungle.
