I hate to be the downer, but we didn’t have a great experience here. We arrived to an ‘open’ store, but when we walk in there was nobody to be found. So we wait around and kinda gaze at the menu and even ring the little bell on the desk. Still no one. We decide to leave super disappointed that we wouldn’t be having our gelato that night(we even rushed over because we thought they would be closing soon). As we are getting into our car, a lady comes out of the adjacent establishment and asks if we want gelato. Ok, weird, but yes. We make our selections. The price is average for gelato(meaning gelato is always more pricey than your average ice cream or fro-yo). Finally get to dig in and the gelato is unpleasantly icy. One of the greatest things about gelato is the creamy, smooth texture and this wasn’t it at all. It actually tasted like the gelato had been sitting there for a few months too long. I can’t even quite remember which flavors I had gotten because the icy texture overpowered it all. So sad to say, I can’t recommend Gelato Java Stop.

This is a nice little surprise for SV. My wife and I rode our bikes to get there via the bike path that runs through town. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and willing to let us take a lot of samples of gelato. All of it was very good and I highly recommend this place over DQ or Coldstone Creamery

I’ve been here a couple of times. Service is courteous; once you get help. Hours of operation are not always consistent. The Gelato is Very Good. It’s hard to believe that it has less fat than ice cream yet you do not miss the fat at all. They have lots of Yummy flavors and I like the various choice of sizes available. If you have never had Gelato before I suggest that you try it. If you are in the Sierra Vista area, this is your only opportunity to do so with this many choices. It is with great desire that I would like to rate this business with a higher rating as I am a big proponent of patronizing local businesses. However, I must tell it like it is, therefore, when you factor in the«Java» side of it along with the service and the potential of being a great coffee house(just a little creativity and better hours with minor décor improvements {they already have Wi-Fi}) I can not give it but a three star rating… Time will tell with this business, the location could be better, the idea is right, the product is there it just needs better execution in a few key areas. I want to be a fan; we shall see what the future holds. Rating: 3.5 Stars(4.6 stars for the Gelato, 3.8 stars for the Lattes and Frozen Coffee Beverages, 3 stars for service, 2.8 stars for cost of products, 3 stars for atmosphere, 4.3 stars for cleanliness).

I don’t eat gelato but my wife does. So to comment on the financial and ambiance side only it was just ok. The prices for what you get, in my opinion, was expensive even though my wife didn’t agree. The store looked a little dirty and there was no outside seating.

A MUST try if you live or stop in Sierra Vista. The gelato is great and the affogato is probably one of the best I’ve tried. The bad is that the place doesn’t have any outside seats and its run by only one lady. Otherwise I go often and you should too.
