I have had a couple of great experiences at this store recently. The staff members are so helpful and I found excellent prices on their products with the coupons they issue. The store is well stocked and I was very pleased.

All I can say is THANKGOD Joannes sends out good coupons every now and then. Their selection is pretty good– they sell a wide variety of fabrics, but nothing very high quality. Their pricing, however, is absurd. $ 24/yd for cheap polyester velvet? $ 7 for cotton prints? Ha! Screw that. I’ll occasionally stop by if I have a coupon and am unable to find what I need from the local discount fabric stores. The wait at the cutting table tends to be a while, as they’re often both busy and understaffed. Really, I only shop here if I have a coupon. Or right after holidays, since they sell some pretty neat holiday décor items, and you can often score them for 75% off after a given holiday is over… only to put it in storage for several months, but once a particular holiday rolls around it is nice to have decorations onhand… The staff are generally pleasant, and will show you where things are. However, quite a few of them don’t sew themselves, so if you need help with a project you might not be able to get it here.

I came into the store today with my eight year old daughter and her supply list for a sewing class she is taking at a nearby craft store. The craft store that offers the classes refers Jo-Ann’s a lot of customers. I walked around the store, unable to find some of the items I needed, or anyone who could help me. Finally, I waited in line at the fabric counter so I could request help. I explained to the employee, Lisa, that I was having trouble finding the pattern and some of the items on the list. She RUDELY snapped«Ma’am, I’m not going to walk around the store and do your shopping for you.» When I explained that I don’t need her to «do my shopping» for me, but to help me find a few items I couldn’t find on my own(one of which, the pattern, was kept in an unlabeled file drawer, so I would not have been able to help myself anyhow) she again snapped that she’s the only one cutting fabric and again stated that she can’t do my shopping for me. As it turned out, they were out of the pattern I needed. I was going to purchase the other items, but decided this store would not be getting one cent of my business, and walked out. My first step was to inform the craft store who referred me to Jo-Ann’s of my negative experience and suggest that they might find another place to send their students for supplies. The person I spoke with stated that she is going to share that information with the other teachers. My second step was to call the store and ask for the manager. The manager was not in, however, a very nice woman named Rita(who said she was second in charge) spoke to me. Rita listend to me explain my experience and handled the situation like a good manager should. She was very apologetic and even tried to get me to come back, offering to personally help me anytime I wanted to shop there again. ‘ The store was clearly understaffed, but that was absolutely not the reason for my negative experience. There were only two people in Lisa’s line and front of me, and no one behind me. Nor was there anyone waiting for her after she tried(reluctantly) to find my pattern. Even if she was busy, there is NOEXCUSE for the rude, unprofessional treatment she provided to me and my young daughter. I hope that more of the associates follow Rita’s model for customer service, at least if they don’t want to chase more customers away.

Joann’s has the basics of what you need for most fabric related crafting projects. This store is regularly understaffed though. I’m here pretty frequently and I have never been here where there wasn’t a line to check out. Or people roaming around looking for someone in the fabric section to ask questions. It’s really too bad because I feel like if they had a «help» area, they could really drive sales. What is great here is that even if you do not have the pre-printed coupon for Joanns, they have them right there when you walk in. And the prices here are amazing with coupons and seasonal sales. I have picked up items just days before seasonal holidays like July 4, Christmas, Halloween, etc for 70% off! I just got a house, so I’m starting to build up my seasonal collections. This is great.

I needed to get new curtains for my living room. being it was small but with alot of windows, I needed alot of curtains and that became alot of money. So I… wanting to impress myself… decided to make them. How hard can it be right? First place I thought of was Jo-Ann Fabrics. I was totally amazed at the variety of fabrics. Ohhh man! I found sooo many different fabrics to go into so many different directions for my curtains. I ended up buying fabric that was on sale. And I mean ONSALE! I was in heaven going home to make my curtains! Thank you Thank you Jo-Ann whoever you are!!! They have mega variety of silk flowers, vases, frames, sewing notions and crafts on one whole side of the store also. I didn’t dare go in there for fear of another blast of ideas that would pop in my head!

I’m not a heavy crafter but when I get the itch to create, Jo-Ann Fabrics has always had everything I needed to do so … fabric of all varieties(Not the quantity and variety of Fabric Place of Natick, but certainly sufficient to satisfy). The parking is simple and don’t forget your flyer coupon for the best savings!
