I eat lunch here several times per month. I especially enjoy the turkey and ham sandwiches. Both sandwiches consist of your choice of meat on a large bun and come fully dressed with mayo, mustard, onion, pickles, and lettuce. I additionally enjoy the half chicken lunch special. The potato salad and cole slaw are very good, however, I’m not a fan of the beans nor of the ribs. On the occasions that I’ve had the ribs they have been dry. One of my friends, on the other hand, thinks the ribs are incredible and he drives from north Bossier Parish just to purchase an order. This is a very small facility but has a lot of character and I enjoy coming here. The ladies that work the counter are a pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend that you give Jack’s a try.

WOW!!! This was the best BBQ I have ever had in Louisiana by far. Meat was smoked to perfection(see picture) potato salad and beans were fantastic as well. I highly recommend this place!!!

Awesome food. I just had a sliced brisket sandwich… great taste. The brisket was very tender.

I brought some BBQ today from Jack’s. I brought Ribs, Brisket and Smoked Turkey… The Ribs were perfect!!! But the Brisket was suspect, it tasted like Brisket that I had previously brought from Sam’s Club recently. IDK! The Turkey was O.K.

Small little local spot. Most people seem to get food to go. But you can dine in. They have free refills and you get plenty of food. Sometimes later in the evening they tend to run out of the more popular items.

Great Food. Like Bryan said the place is really small but the staff is nice. We got the sausage and the brisket. The sauce is not sweet. Which is the way I like it… A lot of food for the price. Skip the cole slaw but don’t miss the beans and potato salad.

Ok. Good bark on the ribs but nothing spectacular. They were lightly seasoned with what seems to be just salt and pepper with a forgettable sauce on the side. Shreveport isn’t known for it’s barbecue(and neither is Louisiana for that matter) but with the limited selection in town they’re doing ok. To be fair, we were in Memphis for lunch so it’s hard really be objective.

Great service! Excellent atmosphere! Tiny little ol’ bbq shack with a refinery backed up behind it! Just everything that you would want and expect out of a southern bbq joint… except that the food is not the best! It’s just not the best! It’s okay. It’s not bad. But, it’s not great! I want to love this place! It’s old! It’s kinda dirty! The service is friendly and fast and perfect! The meat, to me, just tastes a little gamey. And the sides(at least the bbq staples of potato salad and beans) are very, very average. No WOW factor. I really like all of the aesthetics of Jack’s, but I would not pass a Podnuh’s to get to Jack’s, for their bbq.

Jack’s is mainly a BBQ place, but is also open for breakfast. I went for lunch and got chopped beef sandwiches. Those were good, and I’m sorry that I didn’t have a chance to check out the rest of the BBQ. The best part of Jack’s were the two women working there. They were so nice and it was basically like ordering BBQ from one of your own family members. Jack’s is a very small place with little seating, but it doesn’t look like ot gets full often. If you are downtown in Shreveport, this is definitely worth the short drive.
