Honestly, this was probably the worst sushi/Japanese restaurant I’ve ever been to. The sushi is not fresh and the portions are way too small for what they are charging. If you go to a Japanese restaurant, they will most likely serve you the teriyaki meals on a hot plate. Here the teriyaki comes on a cold plate with some very raw onions. The servers seem untrained too. The last time I was there I was asked how I liked my chicken cooked. That really worried me.

I had the white tuna jalapeño roll, sweet potato roll, eel avocado roll(delicious), spicy tuna roll, hit sake(delicious), and mochi at 1:30pm. The food was fresh and tasted great. The rice was sticky and cooked well. The décor is very nice and the music is relaxing. Service was fast, and our waitress was observant. Highly recommend, would go again.

NaNa is home to my favorite Pad Tai in Milwaukee. The sushi is amazing as well. I just wish they delivered further than 1 mile.

Absolutely disgusting! I got sick immediately and had to leave. Quality of sushi was not good at all. Their child was crawling around the bar and they forgot some of our order. When it was brought up he just mentioned he would take it off the bill didn’t offer to still bring it out. We will not be returning!

One of the few choices for Asian fusion. Not sure I would be here every week but I would come back. Try the ramen!

This place is so underrated! It has delicious sushi and very attentive and gracious service. The restaurant is very clean and modern and the atmosphere is fun. All of the sushi and appetizers we tried were great, the fish was very fresh. The prices were much more reasonable then a lot of the Milwaukee sushi places. Highly recommended!

I live around the corner, Nana’s has become my favorite eat-in/take-out/delivery place over the past year. The salmon sashimi is always fresh, the shrimp angel hair pasta is extraordinary, the salads and soups are delightful. My stomach appreciates their food. North Star(across the street) has better calamari.

Delicious wide selection of Asian food here. Highly recommend the tamago which is basically a sweet omelette. I love it and usually get two orders of it when I go. I used to love the age tofu but then the recipe was changed and I thought I was a mediocre dish. The teriyaki Tufo is pretty good and something I sometimes get. Miso soup there is one of the best I’ve had. Over all: delicious.

Oh yes! My fiancée and I dined here for his birthday dinner with his family. We were pleasantly surprised! Living about 4 blocks from Nana, we have always wanted to come here but never found the time. I can’t believe we’ve been missing out, shame on us!!! I loved the interior space; the décor, lights, ambiance was spot on. It was very relaxing and casual yet I felt fancy at the same time. The menu is quite extensive, and everything sounded amazing. I ordered the AAC(asparagus, avocado, and cucumber) and sweet potato roll — I was feeling the veggies that day. Awesomeness, I loved both of them! I tried the spicy tuna roll as well which was delicious and fresh. Everyone else was loving their food as well, and I heard rave reviews of the seaweed salad and the Fantasy roll. When our waitress found out we were celebrating a birthday, she brought out tempura fried ice cream for the birthday boy. OMG, it was heavenly!!! This is probably on the regular menu, but if not they do have it and I highly recommend: D We definitely plan on returning soon and I plan on ordering take out when I have busy work days. Great job, Nana! We will see you soon :)

My girlfriend and I have been frequenting Nana for the past year because a) it’s within walking distance of her apartment, b) it’s very reasonably priced, and c) the staff are very friendly and attentive. Sushi is great. Best crab rangoons we’ve ever had. I can’t really describe their food– you just have to go and see for yourself. Drinks are kinda funny as I don’t think any of their staff are really trained as bartenders. But they’ll get it if you tell them how to make something.

I don’t mean to be insulting, but the entrees I’ve had here are bland. If I made their Malaysian curry or vegetables with brown sauce, I wouldn’t dare let anyone taste it out of fear of being interpreted as an awful cook. The food here doesn’t taste like anything. If you’re going to open up a restaurant, make sure you know how to cook or you’re not going to last long. The sushi is pretty decent though. It’s fresh, affordable, not too much rice. It’s perfect. Just stay away from the entrees

Our party of 6 was able to be seated immediately at 7 on a Friday so that was great. The service all around was a tad slow but we weren’t in a hurry. Edamame was salty and delicious. Everyone was happy with their orders. Would visit again!

My tummy is still super happy from last nights excursion to this awesome sushi joint. The atmosphere is really nice, the bar is trendy and the service was really fast. I ordered a lychee Bellini to start with and was very happy with the choice. The bubbles tickled my nose and the lychee gave it a new flavor I hadn’t experienced before. We split the duck pot stickers for an app. The sweet sauce was delicious. It outshined the sticker by far. The duck was a bit chewy but still yummy. The sushi however did not disappoint. I had an island delight roll which had crab covered with kiwi and a sweet mango sauce and the yummy yummy roll which came with warm deep fried shrimp inside and eel and avocado on top. Both were delightful. I was in sushi heaven licking the plate clean of the delectable sauces and every last morsel of rice. Fresh pineapple was served with the check rounding out the meal as a sweet parting gift. Overall a very nice experience. I will definitely be back to try more things on the extensive menu and their Singapore sling on their cocktail list. The one critic I have is that I wish they had nicer chopsticks to go with the upscale atmosphere they are trying to create.

Great place for good sushi on the Eastside! Parking is the only issue might have to park in the neighborhood and walk a block.

I like the people who work here and the food is decent — - went in on 4⁄15 and the bar was completely shutdown, no beer, no wine, no saki and no spirits — I was told a new owner took over and they will not have a liquor license for a months. Sorry Na Na– but no, no until you have a bar– to many other options in the city to visit. I’m not sure if a new owner needs to reapply for a new license, I could be wrong, but not good for business here in Wisconsin to not serve liquor. —DONTKNOWHOWTHISONEWILLPLAYOUT!

I was expecting more from this place. Prices are quite high, flavor is not there, slow service and small portions. Side Salad was full of rotten lettuce leaves and the dressing was ok. Miso Soup was standard white miso soup that looked like it could have been from the grocery store in a package. Wonton Soup didn’t have much flavor and the soup had a strange yellow hue. Szechuan Peppercorn Beef had no szechuan peppercorn flavor or spice and was a little bit sweet. It was mostly a hoisin sauce flavor. Malaysian Curry Chicken was more coconut milk than curry and could use more seasoning. California Roll was not as good as grocery store sushi. The rice was hard and didn’t have the right proportions of filling to rice. Overall, The service was slow, the food was below average, the price is high, and the meat is full of tenderizer to cover up the low quality meat. Would not come back, there are too many other better places to go.

«Nana» = «No no!» Weak service and weak food. During our weekday afternoon visit, about 4 tables were occupied, yet wait time for our food(sushi roll lunch special) was long. The lunch entrees included miso soup and salad. The salad was 100% iceberg lettuce with maybe 3 tiny slivers of carrot. At least the ginger dressing was OK. As for the rolls, the rice was not right. It was overly sticky and cold. Kind of like good grocery store sushi rolls… gets the job done but not what you would want at a restaurant. I have to say, the music in the restaurant was odd, too, 2PM on a weekday and the music was bouncing between Kelly Clarkson and Justin Bieber. Our dining group left this restaurant unimpressed.

Every time, the food is excellent! I don’t stray too much on the menu. If I’m in the mood for sushi, the Sweet Midori roll has everything I need. Sweet mango sauce; colorful, assorted fish eggs; a little bit of spice; it’s so good! No wasabi or soy needed, it’s perfect as it is. If I want something warm, I get the broccoli soy ginger entrée with tofu. It’s flavorful and filling, coming with enough rice that I can usually have enough left over for lunch the next day. The hot tea choice(only one, usually) changes over time, which keeps it interesting. I’ve had many different types of tea there and am always pleased. Service can be a little slow, so I took off one star. The music they play is very peculiar. I’ve heard it all at Nana. Savage Garden, classical, traditional Chinese, 90’s rock, modern pop hits, and even once, the theme song from Titanic. I don’t think the music helps the ambiance much, but it does give you something to talk about. Highly recommend!

Oh Na-na, average sushi(Sang to Rihanna’s «What’s My Name») Scenerio #1 You live in WFB, it’s 8:00 on a Saturday night and you just realized you haven’t eaten dinner. You don’t want to run to the store, you don’t want delivery, and you don’t want to eat too unhealthy. Scenerio #2 It’s Monday and you decided to work from home(In WFB) and don’t have any food to eat. You drive over to The Bay to find out it’s closed(That place has been closed 5⁄5 times I have tried to go). You want a sit down lunch close by that isn’t in Bayshore Mall. What is the solution to both scenarios? Welcome to Nana Asian Fusion and Sushi Bar. They will hook you up with average Sushi, a convenient location and to date no wait.

I have only had excellent food here. I would recommend it if you’re looking for a little bit nicer sushi place. The food is presented beautifully, and prices for rolls and entrees are about $ 15-$ 20, but you get excellent quality and good portion size. I had the Honey Walnut Chicken and Shrimp on my first visit, and it was one of the most beautifully plated entrees that I’ve ever seen. Delicious, and enough for two meals. We ordered the tempura appetizer on both visits, and their tempura is fantastic. On my second visit, I had the Seafood Tempura entrée, which was good, but since we had already had the tempura appetizer, it was just more of it. Here are my recommendations: Tempura, yummy yummy roll, and the honey walnut chicken and shrimp. Don’t get me wrong, they have a lot on their menu, but I liked what I ordered so much that I’m sticking with it next time.

I have gone when it first opened and after it has been opened for a while. When I first went when it was first opened, service was not so good but the food was halfway decent. I went several days ago and service has improved quite a bit, which is a good thing. Food is still so so — i have had better sushi elsewhere. Would I go back? Probably but it would not be on the top of my list of sushi places to go to.

There is something decidedly off with the soy sauce here. Does soy sauce go bad? I wouldn’t think so but this was awful. It ruined everything. Cute space though and I will probably try it again just b/c it is close by. Would it be weird if I brought my own soy sauce?

I had my first visit last night. I like the décor and the atmosphere. It was casual and comfortable. We did move to another table because we were seated on the path of chilled air whenever the main entrance door opened. There were several interesting items on the menu. I wasn’t sure which direction I wanted to go. My friend and I decided to start with a soup and then order a couple of entrees. I had the Tom Yam Spicy and Sour Soup with shrimp and pineapple. I was expecting a bit more of a kick, but the soup did make my nose run a bit and I really liked the flavor of the broth. I tried the Egg Drop Soup. The base was much thicker than Egg Drop soup usually is, but the flavor was on par with most others. The entrée I ordered was the Malaysian Curry with Chicken. It also included tofu, red onions, muchrooms, and coconut milk. I never had«Malaysian» Curry before so not sure what to expect, but the server told me it was a yellow curry so I was expecting something similar to a Thai Yellow Curry. I later searched the dish online and learned that Malaysian Curry has different preparations because of the different ethnic races in the region. At any rate, when the bowl came there was a small trace of curry on the bottom of the bowl. The chicken was tender, but the dish was lacking in flavor. There was a subtle kick to the dish, but overall disappointing. My friend ordered the Tangerine Beef, crispy tenderloin with Madeira wine in orange flavor. I tried that dish and enjoyed it much more than mine. The beef was indeed crispy and the sauce was full of flavor. I was torn between 2 and 3 stars for my first visit. My dish was 2 stars. I would give my friend’s dish 3 stars. So that’s 2 ½. I enjoyed my soup, so I rounded up to 3 stars. I do plan to return some day to try the sushi, sushi rolls, and another entrée or two.
