Flanagan’s Pub

Amazing place! My boyfriend and I love to come here and it is well priced! Nice for a night out or special occasion.

This place was a complete surprise. I expected a bar, but instead it’s a nice little restaurant/​bar with some very upscale food. My sister, not known for being a veggie-​lover, tucked into a plate of roasted Brussels sprouts with so much satisfaction. I ordered oysters-​on-​the-​half, a first for me. I knocked off a star because they were not cleaned well and a downed a couple pieces of shell. We finished off with the funnel cake fries — yummy! Note that the plate is big and rich enough to be split by more than two people.
For drinks, I had the Wharf Rat and would do that again. Sneaky little bugger, Rat waited until I was done with the glass to let me know his strength. My sister, ever the adventurer, went all «vodka and cranberry»…even the name inspires a yawn. If it ain’t broke, I suppose…
The atmosphere is casual to almost a little divey. Parking lot is small, we parked on-​street (brush up on those parallel parking skillz!). Service was fast and a little more friendly than many places in this «Philly bedroom community».
I’m looking forward to coming back for some of the other menu options!

Wow I was pleasantly surprised! The food was really good and I am talking vegetarian food for a bar. Mushroom and goat cheese bruschetta was fabulous. Yummy veggie quesadillas, good fries and tasty roasted Brussel sprouts. I would have liked more of a beer selection but that’s my only complaint.

Love this bar! Food is always amazing. The bartenders are friendly, the atmosphere is quaint, just your average dive but with amazing food and neighborhood bar feel. The restaurant downstairs has more of a private setting, the patio seating is great in the summer.

Wings are amazing. Very big and meaty. You get what you pay for. Decent price. Love the wings but always have to ask for extra sauce. The wait is a pain and there is no good communication between the staff and not that friendly. Very noisy and dark. Usually get our food to go and will stick with that method.

This place can take a reservation but can’t hold a reservation. We waited an hour to be seated after arriving on time. I ordered a Pub Burger cooked medium… I had to send it back once for being over cooked then I gave up and just ate it, even though it was well done again the second time.

Love this place great service and great food, very calm and nice atmosphere !! Highly recommend for a night out nice place!

My husband and I went into Flanagan’s for the first time last Friday night. We recently moved about a mile away, so we figured we would go for drinks and give it a shot. The atmosphere was fun. There was live music and a good crowd for such a small spot. I saw the male bartender incorrectly pour a Guinness and that made me cringe BUT most people wouldn’t give two hoots about that.
The female bartender spoke so highly of the cook and the food that it peaked our interest. We went back in the next night to have an early dinner, and the food was awesome! I had a pork tenderloin special (brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, balsamic drizzle), and it was delicious! It had a lot of sauce which I normally don’t like, but to my surprise, it only made the dish better! My husband had a pulled pork brisket sandwich with waffle fries. He loved it and of course I tasted it also :). Our friends had a burger and «build your own pasta» and both thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well.
Needless to say, we will be returning to try the many other things on the menu!

Perhaps the best wings in all of Berks County. Don’t be fooled by the location or interior. This place takes thier food serious. Everything I’ve had here was great! Keep up the good work!

What a neighborhood pub should be. I have been coming here for years. Beer selection is vast, and is always ice cold, and the food is delicious. Huge portions too! I’m a big fan of the Pub Prime Rib sandwich. Also the Kobe meatloaf. Outstanding. If you’re looking for a delicious, filling meal and drinks with good friends, this is the perfect place. The live music on weekends is always good too and did I mention, FREE!

Great menu, stunning food anywhere from typical bar fare to fine dining offerings, chefs specials always unique and very well made. Great beer selection, frosted mugs, nice pour on drinks, macallan scotch on shelf. Friendly owner and staff, great service, good crowd. Prices very fair. Ive probaly been there a thousand times and will be back a thousand more…

Philly cheese steak egg rolls were very good! But the tuna had a funky color. (Dont get the tuna)

I’m sorry to read some people had a bad experience. I have never had anything but a great experience at Flanagans. It’s good bar food. The wings are good. I eat there about twice a month. If you don’t want to wait I recommend a reservation because they are always full. My husband and I tend to eat at the bar. Sometime on the weekends we go for a late dinner so we can stay for the live music.

Went for diner tonight. The cheesesteak egg rolls that they have on special for an appetizer are out of this world! Also tried the nachos w marinated pulled chicken– very very good, and my husband tried the duck BBQ– also very very good. My stepmom ha the broiled scallops-​amazing! The only thing we could complain about was the open face roast beef– very fatty beef and not very good at all!

Places like this are one thing I miss about PA — neighborhood bars in old houses with good food and good service. They are scarce where I live now.
But I met some friends from high school here for drinks and dinner.
Upstairs there is a big square bar with a few tables scattered around. We were seated downstairs which had more tables.
The menu was extensive. Everything from bar food and sandwiches to seafood. The wings were billed as some of the best in the area so I went with that. Ordered the hot wings and the Red White and Blue. The chicken was tender inside and crispy on the outside. The sauces, well, I have ot remember where I am — Berks County. Their idea of spicy is mild to me and that’s what hot was. It had a slight tingle to me, The red, white and blue had an interesting flavor to it and there wings were covered in it.
The fries were great.
Service was great for a bar. We had two people keeping drinks filled.
Overall a great place. I would come back if if in the area.

Drinks were very good. Food not as much. We had very underdone food. Burger was raw when ordered well done. The fish and chips were tiny and soggy. Pierogies were cold. Chicken fingers were underdone that some were raw in the middle. Kind of scary for that one. Not going back even though a friend lives in walking distance.
