First time here and everything was absolutely amazing! The best meal we’ve had in a long time! Delicious!

The only reason I’m awarding this restaurant 3 stars is because the food was actually delicious. However, it’s a shame the service was so bad. Waitress didn’t take our order until 1 hour after sitting down. Granted, it was busy that night but the place is small. My suggestion for this restaurant is to hire an adequate wait staff– more than just 2 people.

Live right in town and frequent for the pizza. Don’t often get food other than pizza. Great price, pretty good pizza, prepared quickly.

Pizza is outstanding! Crust is perfect, sauce excellent, and just the right amount of cheese. Wonderful couple running the restaurant and staff is superb. Well deserved 5 stars from a tough grader.

My second visit here tonight and I was impressed by the friendly waitstaff, reasonable prices and tasty food. We had mixed salad, grilled and fried calamari, eggplant parm, pasta with vongole, pasta with eggplant and grilled branzino with saffron risotto and fresh vegetables. I had to laugh reading the reviews for Pineapple Pizza! Really? Who the heck want’s pineapple pizza!!! Go to Dominoes for that please — you won’t find it here or in Naples, where the owner is from. The glass of Montelpuciano was really a generous pour, tasty and smooth and reasonably priced as well. I’m not really clear on what people are expecting but you can’t serve quality entrees using real ingredients, pay your staff, insurance, rent, fuel, water, taxes etc by charging nothing for the food. I really enjoyed everything we had here and felt like it was a good value. Maybe I’ve been in Manhattan too long, but a generous, well seasoned slice of good fish, with heaps of fresh veggies and tasty risotto for $ 23 seemed beyond reasonable to me. I will definitely return next time I’m up in the area. You one-star reviewers really need to get out of Sherman more. My only issue with the meal was a tiny one — I would like a better presentation of the olives that were served. They were drowning in oil and served with warm bread, so I wasn’t sure if they were serving me olives or oil for the bread. I would rather see a nice small plate of olives and a small bowl of dipping oil just with salt and maybe some fresh garlic for the bread. I told you it was a small issue! Also, the veggies accompanying the Branzino were a bit under-cooked for my taste– but that could be a personal taste thing. I prefer my veggies cooked just to the other side of crunch. These really required some knife action to get them into bite sized chunks and would have benefited from another 60 – 120 seconds in the steamer. Lastly, the waitress was really sweet but a little bit too aggressive in plate removal. It’s a fine line between letting plates sit on the table too long and making the diner feel rushed by the clearing of them. It’s a little like a dance, I suppose. I would rather have the plates there for a few(no more than 5) minutes after I am done so the other diners at the table have a chance to catch up. Again, this may just be my opinion, I bet many of you want the plate removed the moment it is empty. I love the atmosphere — it feels like an old road house. Very cool and inviting. Overall — tasty, friendly affordable and recommended — GO.

This place could be so much more but nice atmosphere. Music was a bit loud and unnecessary. The grilled calamari was very good. Chicken Milanese was OK but essentially a chicken cutlet buried in salad. Also a bit pricey for Sherman CT.

Okay, I’m pretty laid back normally, but I had to review this place… under the last owners, when it was Arrivederci, wonderful. Now that it is Amore I have gotten ill after eating there twice. The service is bad(had to seek someone out to refill water after a LONG time, wait staff seem to never have done it before) Last time I tried it, I was eating the olives from the small bowl on the table and found a pit — neither of us had left it in there. The take out pizza is not bad, and that has never made me sick. I wish I had a better review, but we really tried to give it a chance and just can’t anymore. If you want to eat in Sherman, go to the American Pie company. If you want something nicer and close by — try the River Café in New Milford. Décor’s a little dated but the service and food are fabulous.

We had a great experience last night. Appetizers were great(eggplant and calamari) and so were the entrees(chic parm x2, linguini and clams and chicken scarpiello). Staff and owners were very attentive. Will be back frequently

take the amount of money you think you need and double it, but make sure you still have money because you will leave hungry and eat again on the way home. this place is a dump!

While the service was very slow when we arrived tonight all worked out nicely. Our grilled calamari was one of the best we ever had! Yum! A bit pricy for Sherman and maybe they should add a lasagna but we did enjoy our evening.

Like going to Italy(Napoli) and eating at your relatives home. Food is fresh and prepared to your liking. Definitely not a red sauce restaurant but a truly Italian trattoria with an old world charm. I recommend any specials they add nightly or the real deal Spaghetti alla Vongole. I wish Sergio and Louisa were family.

A bit pricey, but great food, especially the pizza(which is not pricey). The photo in a previous review that is purported to be a picture of Amore’s pizza is the same photo found in a review of the now-closed Arrivederci. The photo is as reliable as the review.

Perhaps we were unlucky and they were just having an «off» night, but after our dinner here we find it hard to return. I had some very odd eggplant pasta dish with involved little flecks of eggplant skin(not kidding) topped with a ball of cold mozzarella. My partner had a risotto which barely resembled risotto, it was more of a very overcooked wild rice… it was not edible. The sfogliatelle which the hostess promised were amazing were stale, like eating wet paper! We complained but were told that we were wrong. Both dishes were overpriced and we left annoyed that we had to pay anything for this food.

The food is somewhere between Nuovo Italiano and a red sauce joint. Everyone is very friendly and unprofessional in a good way. I look forward to eating there when I am in Sherman.

We go often to this restaurant as we live nearby. The food is delicious, especially the specials. We like the vegetarian Carbonara and the pasta with eggplant. Another favorite is the eggplant appetizer. The service is very friendly and the owners are very accommodating to special requests. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. It is a very nice casual dining experience.

I was so disappointed on my recent visit to this restaurant. We loved going here when it was Arrivederci’s, but now it is just a unkept, overpriced restaurant. We were seated, then forgotten about. No drink order offered, then it took over 10 minutes to get our menus. No description of the specials, just the menus tossed at us. There were two dirty tables next to us which none was taking any time to clean. It was gross! When we were finally brought some water the wait person spilled it all over our table. No apologies. And still no drink order taken. This whole time we were watching the owner fuss over someone she knew that walked in after us. We ended up leaving. Very bad experience.

Terrible pizza. Skimpy toppings and high priced. We’ve eaten there 3 times and when they are on, it’s great. But the other 2 times we were extremely disappointed(see the photo for an example of their«everything pizza»). Will never return.

I love having a decent Italian restaurant in Sherman. I love the variety now being offered at Amore and adore the owners who put tremendous heart and soul into the restaurant. However, I do feel it is a bit on the expensive side and that is why I gave it three stars. If the prices were a bit more reasonable, I would have given it 4. Personal pizzas are over $ 10, pasta dishes on the small side are $ 18 and entrees are $ 26. I do not feel that the ambiance or quality justifies the prices. However, there is an excellent selection of pizza, appetizers, pastas and entrees. The service is attentive. The staff offered complimentary focaccia and homemade bread with olives which was fantastic. We shared a pizza to start and the pizza is excellent, thin crust, tasty sauce. We shared a brocooli rabe and sausage appetizer and I just thought it was ok. The sweet sausage had good flavor but the rest, the broccoli rabe on a purée of beans, was a little bland. I had homemade ravioli special and my husband had the traditional spaghetti carbonara. My ravioli was homemade and came in a pink ragu sauce. It was soft but heavier on the spinach than the cheese. My husband’s carbaronara was not very heavy on the cream and had a robust pancetta flavor throughout. Both pasta dishes were decent to good. I come from an Italian-American family and grew up in NYC withs its fantastic Italian restaurants so I am a discerning judge. We took homemade sgliatelle to go for breakfast. I would say that pastry is not their strong point and, compared to other sgliatelle we have had, we were disappointed. We will definitely go back and I will update my review when we do. update 12/13/2103: I noticed that the owners have lowered their prices since my last review. Raising to 4 stars from 3 because of that. Have to love a place that responds to its customers. I do not know what others are talking about as «terrible pizza». Trust me. I am a NYC-raised italian, lived in NYC for 35 years before I moved to CT. The pizza is some of the best around these parts. Their margherita is fantastic actually. And I love the arugula beet salad. For convenient, local, fantastic italian — this place is a gem to in our back yard.

I revisited with my friends from Manhattan and ordered the grilled branzino, fried calamari and Truffle oiled pizza. The limoncello sorbet imported from Italy was so exquisite we returned the next night just for that. All were fantastic! Thoughtfully prepared and delicious. We are very fussy and jaded so this review is backed by sophisticated palates.
