Great dive bar. This is probably one of the coziest venues I’ve ever visited. Not only were the two bartenders extremely attentive, but they take the time to learn your name. It sounds silly, but it makes such a huge impression when the bartender calls you by your name. Best of all, all the locals are so friendly. As soon as I sat down two guys to my right started making conversation with me. We ended up all hanging out the entire afternoon – great time. Beer selection is around 15(on draft) and the food is your standard pub-fare. The parking is a piece of cake, as this bar is in a strip mall, and there’s ample seating; as the bar is actually far bigger than you’d expect. Lots of TVs everywhere for those coming to watch the game, and there’s even a fireplace! I’ll be back.

I went here for a birthday/football watching party this weekend and had a great time. I’ll start off by saying that our server Lindsay was amazing. There were so many people there on Sunday and man was she hustling to please everyone. She was so friendly and always checked in on us to see if anyone needed anything. I’m so glad we weren’t forgotten about because sometimes that can happen at divey bars… not here, and not with Lindsay. I have to also mention that the food and drinks came out so fast. Drinks were good and the food was yummy. I love that they have vegetarian options, thank you! Overall I had a great experience. Lindsay you are awesome and because of you I’ll be back to the pineapple saloon.

Pretty great bar. Very nice atmosphere. I enjoy all the brass fittings. The layout of the bar is very unique as well. In terms of food, I have only had their garlic bleu cheese fries which were pretty good! In terms of their drinks I have only had beer and wine there but there was a nice selection of both. The free popcorn is a nice touch. The only problem I have actually doesn’t really have to do with the bar itself. It is …THEVIKINGSFANS! I’m sorry but not everyone loves sports, some people just like sports, some people hate sports. I would fall in the middle category, I really could take em or leave em. This place during a Vikings game makes me hate sports. In fact the Vikings fans that swarm this bar like a seething mass of rotting maggots makes a convincing argument for getting rid of competitive sports in a public setting. When you walk into this bar and a Vikings game is on you can already tell something is horribly horribly wrong. It starts with the monosyllabic grunts first heard when opening the front door. Then you see a flash of purple, followed by a viking helmet and then another flash of purple. Then come the«your mama» or «my mom can throw better than…» comments. Then there is the misguided swear words followed by hurling racist/homophobic/tough guy insults that stem from a deep rooted insecurity only found in a special breed of man. When there is a Vikings game on this bar turns to a hard 0 out of 10. It’s not the bar’s fault it’s just that they host these neanderthals and it ruins the experience for the rest of us who might have wanted a civilized drink and some nice conversation. Can’t blame them though I’m sure the butthole Vikings fans spend their weight on bud light/red bull/jäger shots i just hope the tips are good for the bartenders sakes. On the subject of the Vikings fans. Where the hell did they come from? This is Sherman Oaks not Minnesota. It boggles the mind!

When in doubt, Pineapple Hill it out. When I’m in need of a cold beer, some greasy bar food, free popcorn & an intimate divey lounge, I come to Pineapple Hill. Located in a mini strip mall in the heart of Sherman Oaks, PH offers a variety of bar seating, booths & couches by the fireplace. One thing I enjoy about coming here is it’s not pretentious like most douchey bars on Ventura Blvd. Here, you feel at home — no one is passing judgment, and hell you might be able to make a few friends at the bar. I also enjoy that they have been adding to their extensive beer menu. Sculpin on tap? Sign me up! I’ll continue to go here when I don’t feel like getting spruced up and just want to kick back and relax with a beer in hand. Some additional perks? Great place to watch a game. Drinks are reasonably priced and they have a large(bar) food menu. Staff is friendly and if you’re into the divey/local feel, you’ll definitely find it here. Enjoy!

Pineapple, you delicious hidden gem. Love the mellow vibe, advanced jukebox, and great staff. They make sure you feel welcome and part of the solid group of people that come here. Everyones respectful, never any problems. I come here and everytime im never disappointed. A definite must. Aswell as a good tap selection. Id say come in, even if you’ve underestimated it, because you wont be disappointed.

It’s been sometime since our normal pub trivia spot closed it’s doors. Since then our group has been nomads searching for another spot to test our limited knowledge on useless and(dare I say) trivial facts. A little bit more out of our way we discovered Pineapple Hill. Located in an very crowded shopping center with In-N-Out and other retailers, Pineapple Hill has plenty of parking in the front or off to the side. The décor of Pineapple Hill definitely has a «saloon» feel to it but it also just feels like any other unassuming bar/pub. There are TVs all around so viewing from any seat isn’t much of a challenge. The beer selection is strong here. There are many varieties of craft and local brews along with some of the more traditional macro brews. There is some wine but there is a full service bar for those of you seeking other adult beverages. Food is decent. The burger was good but the fries are boring. The potato skins were cold which was disappointing. Still there’s plenty of variety on the menu so there’s something for everyone(good or bad). Service is pretty good here. The wait staff is friendly and accommodating. Also gotta love the complimentary fresh popcorn. We’ve been here numerous occasions and as long as trivia keeps happening on Tuesdays we’ll keep coming back. Trivia host is really good here too. Probably more of a 3.5 stars kind of place but those cold skins really make it difficult to round up to 4.

The drinks were watered down and overpriced. The bartender was rude and told us we couldn’t order from the bar after we sat at the table, even though there wasn’t a waitress there until like 20 minutes after we sat down. I also don’t like that the women’s bathroom has only one toilet and says girls on it, while the men’s bathroom says men. Our waitress couldn’t remember who ordered what, so that was annoying. The crowd was all older men and women, they must be the regulars.

I’m a spoiled West Valley kid, which means places to go that are real dive bars with cheap stiff drinks. I had a beer and gin and tonic. I didn’t even get slightly buzzed. This place has the dive bar atmosphere without the dive bar prices and drinks. Sorry! I’m sure its a great place for local East Valley folk, but I rather just go across the street to The Barrel if I’m going to be in the area next time.

Came back tonight after a long hiatus. This place has such a great vibe. It’s the«Cheers» of Sherman Oaks. Angela, one of the owners, is lovely, creating a great menu and great neighborhood spot. We’ll definitely be regulars when we move into our new place and can walk here.

This place is kinda like«the local bar». Its not for everyone. I like it! Its pretty fun, they have cool special nights like trivia night. A good place to just grab a beer or a bite. Although i gotta say– dont take the wings! This is probably more like a weekday night out then weekend. For me at least. ;)

Went to this bar a couple of times, the service is bad and super slow. All drinks are over priced and watered down. I will give two stars because the bartender was cool. The security/bouncer outside was rude and disrespectful. Will not be going there anymore. Plenty of bars in Sherman Oaks.

This place is very Divey… Which can be a good or a bad thing depending who you are … This place has fore and aft parking, which makes getting in and out of here a breeze. M A few friends and I went here to checkout the advertised possible Karaōke night… But found it’s only on certain nights . We decided to stay anyways. The atmosphere is super dicey because it is VERY dimly lit. You can barley see around you and it’s very easy to lose track of where you’re going or seeing. Luckily, most the space was one level and no raised carpeting or flooring. Overall the service was great. It was one of the girls’ bday when we went, and our waiter gave her a free drink on the house, claiming he paid for it himself. If he did, great, or not that’s cool too. Point is, she got the free drink. He was also able to get regular drinks for a reasonable price. The specialty drinks were much more expensive, but still doable. The major gripe I have, is that they didn’t have any type of ginger ale. They would’ve had to mix coke and sprite… It’s not the same !! They also had a digital jukebox, which was fun… But confusing to use. The bathrooms were easy to get to and prett y clean as well for a dive bar. Prices were as expected for the place. In between expensive(sherman oaks) and affordable(dive bar). Overall fun experience !

A little gem hidden in a strip mall next to in and out burgers. The places has plenty of parking that is a plus. If you are a person who just want to enjoy great food and drinks you will love this. I met some friends here on Saturday evening. This place is jumping. If you are a person who loves late night bars then this is the place for you. Everybody here is super friendly. The bartenders really know how to make a drink. No questions this one of the coolest bars in the San Fernando Valley.

Great bar with incredible staff and food. Love their drink specials and divey atmosphere. Always meet cool people within and the bartenders are fun to talk with. Not to mention they are honest about what dishes they like and what drinks specials are going on. It’s always happy hour their and the vibe is a solid one. Eat drink and be merry here. Definitely the best bar in the valley in my opinion. If you are looking for a D-bag free environment with plenty of real people to meet and hang with, this is the spot. The sliders are awesome, Moscow mules rule. Awesome beer selection and always something to discover.

Screw this place with a capitol«S». The bartender was a giant dickhead; he gave me back the WRONGCREDITCARD. My name is Daniel Becker last time I checked, not DANIELLEYANG! I’m also a GUY, not a GIRL. I had not realized that this GIANTDICKHEADWITHGLASSES gave me the wrong credit card until I ventured over to another bar! Bartender said it was my fault because I should have noticed it wasn’t my card. I suppose that’s true; however, in the now five years, I’ve been technically legal, no bartender has ever handed me back the wrong CC! The guy has memorized over 400 different drinks, and being fastidious to detail, especially tabs, pour counts, etc are the requisites to keep this job. The guy did not even offer me any sort of COMP for wasting my TIME! I asked to speak to the manager because of his attitude, and he lied to me – telling me the place had NO manager! Screw this place and their 15 $ min credit card charge, and their stale POPCORN. The reason I am so pissed, is because to mishandle financial records in an area notorious for ID theft is nothing to take lightly. I had my identity stolen once, NEVERAGAIN! To the owner ANGELA: this is your cue to step in and say something! –NOMOREANGRY!!! GRRRR!!!

This place has great décor, decent prices, and decent food. Was completely packed on a Tuesday night for NBA playoffs and trivia night. Service is very friendly and helpful. Free popcorn is cool.(Saltiness makes you thirsty and drink more) A pleasant surprise when they announced that late night happy hour was starting an hour early. Decided to take advantage. :-) Had a chili size, garlic fries and a few drinks. Chili size was very decent if not amazing. Garlic fries crunchy and good. Check was $ 35.22 after tax. Recommended and will repeat

The Service: Very attentive. Constantly checking on us. Staffs are constantly walking around the bar to clean out the dirty glasses. The Drinks: Very reasonable price. Nice bar and many big screen TV. Perfect place to watch sports! The Parking: Could be challenged because many retailers in the same plaza.

I can’t stop coming here. Try the Kona Burger. Best burgers ever. The drinks are good and the prices are reasonable. The staff is amazing and the crowd is from young to old. Sports in the TV and even a trivia contest on Tuesdays. Always a good time here. Just ask for John(Smith) the bartender. Really good guy.

Came here for their Tuesday trivia night, which overall was a blast! The bar is pretty standard in design/space — plenty of seats in a darkwood bar. The trivia itself starts at 8PM(in our case 8:15PM) and lasted until 10. We almost won, so it was a great time for all. There’s also a happy hour and lots of drink specials, which make for a fun drinking time. Come check this place out on Tuesday nights or just any old time. There’s plenty of parking in the lot, too!
