I spent part of my birthday yesterday here and it was the best part of my birthday. The staff was very sweet, friendly and went out of their way to make me feel special on my birthday. The menu was taken over by Sierra Nevada which was a happy coincidence because I went to Chico State. It was a lot of fun trying all the different varieties. The space has a lot of room and plenty of pool tables to go around. We had a blast and will definitely be back.

Piss poor service. My boyfriend forgot his ID at home and was told he couldn’t come in. He did try and use a friend’s ID, not for drinks, but to get inside. They noticed & said he could not enter without the proper ID. Totally understandable. So we went 30 minutes out of our way to get his ID and returned because we had some friends waiting for us there. When we got back with his ID& the blonde bartender, Nikki, very rudely turned him down and said we could not get service and we needed to leave. Ben, her coworker, turned and then proceeded to kick us all out. We asked for the manager and he said he could not get the manager. I don’t think just because he tried to get in with the wrong ID he should be allowed back if he has his proper ID. They said nothing about us all not receiving service if we returned. My boyfriend lives in Woodland Hills but I live in the neighborhood and have brought many friends here. I will spread this bad experience and will play pool elsewhere. Bad attitudes here.

I enjoy this for its wide open spaces and the distinct setting between bar seating and pool hall. This sports bar is for ages 18+ so you will always be ID’d at the front door, but even on a Saturday Night when every pool table is occupied there is quick table turnover, a nice crowd, and you can always get a pitcher of beer the minute you need one.

Extremely friendly staff the blonde girl behind the bar was very nice. They have craft beer here which is a definite plus. They have plenty of tables so definitely don’t worry about having to wait. They also have checkers/chess and other games like jenga. The only downside to this place is that they only take cash but they do have an atm machine on site.

I haven’t played pool in over a decade! It’s just ad fun as I remember it to be! Staff was friendly. Waitress kept our drinks full. We had a nice table in the back with all the amenities, including straight pool sticks(although I’m not sure if it would have mattered lol) Only downside is it’s REALLYEXPENSIVE! But can’t fault them for being on the Boulevard in a high density/popular local. We’ll pay it for the nostalgia and the«COOLFACTOR». Lol. We’d definitely come back, just perhaps on their happy hour menu when it’s a little less pricey. Extra note, there is parking in the rear.

I’ve been coming to the House of Billiards on and off for 15 years or so. Recently my friend and I have been going once or twice a week on weeknights and I can’t say enough good things about the place. The staff is always friendly, the tables and cues are clean and work well and I always look forward to going back. I even see staff come in on their days off just to hang out there – a sign of a good local hang out spot, I think. Enjoy.

Cool little spot to play pool and drink beer(beer bar only). Not how I typically spend my night but I enjoyed myself. Music could’ve been a little better. They started playing hip hop closer to closing.

The day i went was with my brother, girl bartending forgot our pitcher we ordered, after she stated we’d bring it over. Then came back with a beer on the house which was fine. The pool tables are really nice i must say, and the crowd is great. *There was a funky smell like moist carpet smell but they had all the doors open which kinda helped but cause me to leave after the 1 pitcher. Will go back though, hopefully no smell this time.

I’ve been to nicer pool halls. This place is just OK so my rating is just down the middle. I thought it was slightly pricier than other pool halls I normally go to, but whatever. You get a table, they hook you up with some free credit at the jukebox.

I know this placed gets a wide spectrum of opinions, but I think it’s perfect for what it sets out to be. I live just down the street from this hall and frequent it quite often. It has A TON of clean professional pool tables, all the sports on TV, and surprisingly good selection of craft beers on tap. I mean seriously, I’m a home-brewer and beer oficianado and this place has had a couple selections I haven’t seen anywhere else. The service here is also really quick and friendly. I probably wouldn’t suggest getting any food though(it just doesn’t seem like that kind of place.) Anyways House of Billiards is a great spot! Oh and it’s a SeaHawks bar btw :/ Go Broncos

I would give this place 3.5 stars if I could, but since their hot dog was so damn amazing… they get 4 stars. HOB has a great selection of beer and I just found out they offer food as well! Tons of beers on draft and can I just say that for $ 3 a hot dog, it was amazing. Get the beef hot dog. IT’S SOOOOOOJUICY!!! Literally the dog itself is juicy and that’s hard to find at a place like this where you don’t expect food. I might get a hot dog every time I shoot pool from now on! Service: the girl waiter was sweet, but it might be because I give sweet tips. The guy who works there was a little MEH. He wasn’t too thrilled that my friend didn’t have his ID – which is fine. He let us know that I can’t order beer either – which is fine… I mean… how’d he know I was going to pass my 27 year old friend the beer? Anyway, I just wasn’t a fan because he made me feel a little dumb and unwelcomed when I didn’t realize he had told me «it’s pay as you go» meaning I needed to pay for my soda right then and there. We just had that awkward moment until my brain caught up to what he was repeating. Sure, my fault for not always having my brain on, but come on dude lighten up a little! Onto the tables, I honestly feel like the tables here are OK. For such a big place with so many tables, I was hoping to see more of them in top-notch quality. Now don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing WRONG with the tables or cues or even balls. Great place, good prices, DEFINITELY would play here and direct people here. It just simply isn’t quite 5 stars in my opinion.

Great establishment, great environment and great beer. Only takes cash which is inconvenient but they have an ATM machine there which they probably own so they are making money on the fees. Smart, I can respect that. What I didn’t like is that last call was at 1:10am and were ushering you out by 1:40am. This place closes at 2:00am and I suspect the workers wanted to go home early. I am used to hearing last call at 1:30am and being out the door by 1:55am. This made me upset because I left a pitcher half way. It’s all about the customer and I will not be going back because of that. This is a five star establishment but unfortunately it is not run like one. That was last Saturday, September 19. Thanks for looking into it. If it wasn’t for that little issue, I would have rated at five stars. I will gladly give it another try and change my rating. I think I walked in on a night when the workers were probably tired. The beer selection was impressive I just hate to leave beer behind.

First: they don’t do a great job of welcoming you or letting you know how the whole deal works. They’re cash only, and that’s annoying, because everyone could easily take cards. But now that I’ve got that out of the way… This place is pretty rad. Nice hot dog menu, good beer selection, tables are spread out and plentiful. Prices are great. They have those two person seated arcade games in the bar area, and they’re not blasting crap music. Also, we witnessed the most disastrous okcupid date happening right next to us, during which a moderately cute girl invited ANOTHERDUDE on her first date with a moderately cute boy. We stopped paying attention to our own game when that happened because it was just so fascinating. I hope every time we come we see foolishness that delightful.

I’ll start with the positives — a TON of tables for pool! They have games and stuff to keep you busy if you have to wait on a table. Also, I know this is weird to mention in a review, but I went into the lady’s restroom and damn it was clean. It smelt like soap and cleaning supplies, which is always a good sign. Negatives: they only accept cash. They have an ATM but it’s the kind that has a $ 3 service charge. Also, they only serve beer, which normally I wouldn’t normally bother me, but their beer collection kinda sucked. Mostly dark beers, that I have allergic reactions to so I can’t drink. And when I asked what kind of ciders they had, the bartender told me they didn’t serve ciders, «But we do have Smirnoff Ice» — BLECH!

Not a bad place. I don’t like pool, but they have a really good draft selection. They do not have a kitchen but there is a Ferris wheel of spinning meat for any risk takers out there. Bags of chips are on hand as well. It feels like a pool hall with a bar. The bar is strange as you stand 5 feet above the bartender. When you sit you are eye level it’s just weird getting into the seat. There is ping pong! And for any fans of nostalgia there are the table top Pacman games. 2-hour Street parking is really your only option so depending on the time of day in Sherman Oaks it can be a little bit of a search.

House of Billiards overall is A-OK(CASHONLY) Service: Not to bad. You’ll have to go pick up your drinks from the bar. The bussers do come by very regularly to pick up your drinks. The thing I didn’t like is even though we still had some beer left, once we were done playing pool they were like can you lift your stuff up i have to clean the tables. Like uhhh«bi***» we’re still drinking. Environment: Pretty good for the most part. They got a good blend of old and current music running through the speakers. I will say there are some strange heads in there. Some doing some drugs, besides MJ if you know what I mean Beer: I will say that they have a great selection of craft brews on hand. Worth checking it out.

As far as pool halls go, this place has everything! Plenty of pool tables, great beer selection, classic bar menu, a lot of TVs all over, a juke box, and great staff! The pool tables are in great shape for the usage they get here. We played 3 games and there was no rush to get out or give up our table to anyone waiting. We were there on a Wednesday night, so it was not packed at all. I’ll definitely be back, since my friend lives in the area. Plus, it’s a great spot to just catch a game while you are playing a round or two. Dudes, this place is cash only. Don’t get caught without the dinero on that date!
