Rosie at American Haircuts is amazing! My mother who had already been going to Rosie for 15 years, along with all of her friends, took me to see Rosie, because i broke my wrist and could barely wash and dry my own hair. My mom knew that I would love Rosie, and she was right. After trying some of «the best» salons in from Beverly Hills and Beverly Hills adjacent, and paying a ton of money to feel unsatisfied and uncomfortable, I was at the end of my rope. Spending way too much money for not very good results.
Rosie will always tell me the truth and I trust her implicitly with my hair! And Her prices are more than reasonable. I’ve moved a few times in the last 10 years since i’ve been going there, but the drive, even in the worst of traffic is always worth it. Rosie and everyone else that works there always makes everyone that walks through their doors feel warm and welcomed.

First off, I called and asked if they could take me in and she said if you can come in ten minutes she can take me before 2pm, then asked for the price which she said is $ 25 (not starting at $ 25 or depending on length). She said I have a 10am and asked if it would be enough time, she said yes at 9:19 am and I arrived at 9:25. She was still with a client so i waited a little, at this point fine I dont mind. The wash was good. But then I told her my hair is very straight and suggested a small brush so it’s not so straight and for some body and have the ends go either in or out. She then said she was going to use a large brush because it would give my body. She insisted many times that I didn’t know how to do hair and that she was the professional and if I studied to do hair and reiterated you see you don’t know. I brushed it off honeatly I dont really care what she said, I already knew this was not worth an argument or starting my day off bad. Then she said I am in a hurry now. She started to rush, fine whatever. She wanted to put silicone in my hair and said no because I have super straight hair. Again she said it’s because I don’t know. To make a lot going story short I was sweet as pie but she was rude, in a hurry and did a terrible job. It’s straight, has no body looks dead and she totally fried my hair with her blowdryer. She then blamed me because I had highlights.
The best part I was when I was paying she said it was $ 30. Haaaa I have to go home and redo my hair now it’s that bad! Sorry Karine you need to work on your people skills and go back to hair school, YOU REALLY DON’T KNOW!

This place is great! You get amazing quality at insanely cheap rates. Rosie is especially awesome at cut/​color.

Absolutely bottom of the barrel… I had had a good haircut here once so I came back. This second time even though I was early for my 10 o’clock appointment, Karen was in a hurry because she had a customer who wanted to come in before 1030. So she rushed through my haircut, left it all choppy, didn’t fix anything, and when I asked her nicely to fix something on the side, she said when you wash it, it’ll look fine. She also left hair all over my shirt and didn’t even bother to brush it off. Avoid at all costs.

I’ve been coming here for years. I love this place, the services is good the prices are good and the staff is great.

I have been going here for years and Rosie is wonderful, she takes her time with you and makes sure you get what you want. The prices are extremely reasonable as well. It is a very comfortable place and i cant imagine going anywhere else.

I’m not sure how this lady has 5 stars across the board. My experience here was short but very memorable. I had called earlier in the day to see if she accepted walk-​ins. She said yes and told me she didn’t have any appointments at a certain time. Okay cool, I’ll try to come in then.
I walked in. She was working with someone else. no problem, I can wait. She asked what she could help me with and I told her I called earlier and then she copped a huge attitude and then went on about how she can’t wait for people and she has a business to run and I didn’t make an appointment. At that point I’m completely taken back and I said, «I called to see if you accepted walk-​ins» Then she goes on to say she does but I would have to wait. I understand if you have an appointment I can wait no problem but after her rude demeanor and the way she snapped I told her I didn’t appreciate her being rude and I was going to go somewhere else. She then decided to add, «Well we don’t like your kind of people in here anyways». I’m not really sure what that last line meant exactly — but needless to say she doesn’t even deserve 1 star.

Karine does great work and is very nice. I go to her for Brazilian Blowout every 3 months. Blowout is done very well and prices are fantastic. Karine is flexible with scheduling and has given me appointments at the last minute. Customer service is exceptional.

This place is awesome! SO affordable and my hair looks really nice. I went in for my first real hair cut in a couple years (had a few inches taken off) and my new layers look so good. Ana was so nice and I felt really relaxed the entire time. Highly recommended!

Rosie did a fantastic and reasonably priced Brazilian Blowout… in about one hour and forty-​five minutes. Nothing fancy, but she got the job done. I will be back.

I have been getting my hair colored, highlighted and cut at this salon and always left very happy. Anna is great, she’s very good at what she does. Everyone is always friendly and nice. I would highly recommend this salon.

Rosie is my go-​to person for the perfect blow out. She is also very accommodating with my schedule, and affordable. Her blow outs last the longest, too because she never uses products that cause my hair to become greasy. The salon is close to home, which is very convenient.

Again, Karin is the best. Just got a Brazilian blowout and it is perfect. She also is a pro at color whether its highlights or one color process. All the women who work there are great and so friendly and parking is easy.

I moved to L.A. from Florida about 5 years ago. While in Florida, I went to the same hair salon for about 15 years with the same hair stylist, so I knew it might be hard to replace a salon I loved. I tried a couple of hair salons out near my house and just didn’t seem to like them. That is until I came to American Haircuts. The first time I came to get my hair highlighted and cut, I liked it better than where I had been going in Florida for years. Anna, the owner, is the one who does my hair, and she does a terrific job. I always feel like a new woman every time I leave the shop. I am able to get an appointment easily, and it is close to home too. The whole salon has a friendly atmosphere to it, and the prices are great. American Haircuts is a fabulous salon, and I highly recommend it.

Love Love Love!!! My hair! I just got Highlights done yesterday and it’s the first time in years (since my hairstylist from when I was 15 moved to Texas 4 years ago) that I absolutely loved the way the color came out!
Hair is a very personal thing for women and it’s hard to find someone who not only knows what they are doing, but can work with different hair types, styles and deliver an amazing result! Rosie is the absolute best I cannot express how happy I am!
There’s a lot of perks here, one of the main ones, while most solons are closed on Mondays they are opened! And yes, even during a holiday weekend! I was recommended to come here after seeing my Office Admin’s hair time after time, I was advised to make an appointment since Rosie is usually booked which I did. She was very friendly over the phone (friendlier in person) and VERY VERY honest from the start. One key thing is that upon calling and making an appointment for highlights she asked if I ever had highlights before, her main reason wasn’t to know to know if she needed to do a retouch or gather information about the competition, but to forewarn me that rebleaching may cause breakage. Rosie’s main goal was to make sure you as the client are satisfied with your new hairstyle.
They are reasonable prices, cater to what their clients want/​need, open, honest, friend and overall very personable. While I was there they had several repeat clients coming in for a variety of things, that alone is a great indication of how great American Haircuts are. They have a very modern and clean feel, as well as merchandise available to purchase like hair oils, shampoo/​conditioner, brushes etc. I was pleased with the recommendation I received and I would be more than happy to recommend them to others! Ask for Rosie!

I’ve been coming here for 14 years since I moved into the neighborhood. They are super friendly, they’ll do anything you want, and are happy to please you. I’ve used all of the three ladies in the shop not only for myself, but for all three of my kids, too, all of whom are teens now. I can’t give praise highly enough for these professionals.

I love American Haircuts and Anna. I have been coming here for 4 years for my weekly blowdrys in between cuts with my favorite hairstylist.
They have always been polite, professional and the best deal in town! I almost feel protective, because they are so nice and accommodating! This is the valleys best kept secret for blowdrys! Don’t waste your money on blowdry bars. This is the real deal.

American Haircuts has the look of a hole-​in-​the-​wall barber shop in a mini strip mall. I’ll admit, I normally wouldn’t go to a place that looks like this. But, with a baby at home and not much cash to spend, I needed a place that was close to where I live and cheap. So I stopped in to scope it out, and the way the stylist spoke about my hair and what she would recommend made me trust the place. Bingo. $ 55 later my over-​processed blonde hair had been colored a deep, rich brunette with hints of red and I’m thrilled. This is a small fraction of the cost of what I would pay at a «nicer» salon and I think the results are basically the same. Anna was the colorist (and owner) and she was great.
I didn’t give the review all 5 stars because when I first tried to go there was a sign on the door that said «back in 45 minutes» even though they were supposed to be open; and of course — it’s missing that luxurious experience that you would get at a nicer salon. Aside from that — I’ll be back and next time I’ll probably get a haircut too.
