Woodside is a family run local sandwich shop. If you are looking for a great, old school deli, this is the place! Specialty sandwiches are a good choice. Great sandwiches at a reasonable price — so much better than a chain!

The sandwiches are fresh, the breakfast sandwiches are good too. I only have one gripe about this place. I ordered a turkey on rye with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, roasted red pepper and the price listed on the menu was $ 5.25. When cashing out my sandwich came out to $ 7.10. They charge additionally for tomatoes, $ 0.30 for onions and extra for roasted red peppers. Come on!

Let me start by saying, that I feuded with and avoided this place for about seven years. Seven years ago I had looked at a menu that said breakfast served all day, when i went at noon to order an egg sandwich i was given a huge attitude about it and then they acted like they were doing me favor and they would make it. So I left and never came back.
A coworker asked me to lunch the other day and much to my dismay we ended up at Woodside. I didnt know what i was missing. I got possible the best chicken salad sandwich i had had in a looooonnngggg time. Needless to say my feud is over and I will be returning soon.

Woodside Deli is a little hole in the wall gem in Shelton, CT. They have great specialty sandwiches, from the Monet to the Mt. Rushmore. They have a great selection of chips and drinks as well.
My favorite sandwich is the Gaugin, on a grinder/sub roll. Cant be beat.

BY FAR… The Best Deli in Shelton. Let’s just start with their Egg & Cheese sandwiches. They are perfect. I consider this humble breakfast sandwich to be a staple of any good deli. And Woodside just kills it. They are hands down the best around. The owners are very friendly and just good people. Gotta love Woodside!!!

Excellent deli with friendly, fast service. The prices are reasonable and the sandwiches are generously stuffed. Egg sandwiches are simply delicious. Bacon– sausage or ham– — fantastic!!! Must try for those that haven’t been here!

Great little deli for breakfast and lunch. Wide variety of sandwiches and very nice staff. Really enjoyed my breakfast sandwich — egg and bacon on a Portuguese roll. They serve breakfast until 11.

I really love their chicken cutlet sandwiches and recently when I went in they ran out. So I had to think quickly and settled on the eggplant parmigiana sandwich and I was not sad at all! The sauce really made the sandwich and it was great on a cold day. I may have a new go to rather than my chicken cutlet!

I work down the street from this deli. I rarely go out for lunch but if I do I come here. They always give you fast and friendly service. Their huge menu of sandwiches is impressive along with their daily specials and grill items. My favorite is the #8 Mt. Rushmore — BH roast beef, muenster cheese, lettuce, tomato and horseradish sauce. The sauce gives it a big spicy kick! I like that they don’t overflow your sandwich with meat like delis. They portion everything correctly and use good fresh ingredients so you get a taste of everything in each bit. A great place for lunch takeout!

I walked into this place with three other co-workers and we walked right out. I was wary of the way the deli meat was kept and it did not look fresh at all. Go to the pizza place next door or the Italian Deli across the street.

I work in Shelton, and I eat here about once a week. I love it. Their ingredients are fresh, the employees are so friendly, and it is such a convenient location. I always order sliced chicken on rye with horseradish and lettuce, but I think I am going to go there today and try something new. Oh, and one morning I stopped in for a breakfast sandwich and it was soooooo good. My only gripe is that the don’t have anywhere for their customers to sit. Sometimes my boyfriend and I will get sandwiches from here and then drive to the reservoir and eat there. Such a good place!

I’m not sure how this place produces such high-quality food so quickly since they’re always incredibly busy during lunch. The deli is located right near several major corporate parks and they do huge business during lunch hour. Even so, the food is consistently very good. I’ve tried their swiss cheese and tomato sandwich, eggplant parm, egg salad sandwich, and several cold salads. I’ve always been pleased with the quality, taste, and freshness of their food. This is a great place to pick up a quick lunch (they have no seating).
