Worst 2 bartenders. Two young girls complaining about staying open later than usual for a Thursday with a crowd of about 15 people. These two were obsessed with the presidential election and actually had it on the right tv with the volume up while everyone was watching college basketball on the left tv with no volume. Playing on there phones while people trying to order drinks and order food. Chicken sandwich was ok. The wings and pizza that came out looked real good. There are a number of beers on draft but they have no idea how to pour. I think the owner or manager was actually there at one point and one girl was dumping pitcher after pitcher down the drain just cause of a little foam. Also they have no clue on what beer is what. If you want a good strong mixed drink, this is your place. They have no care about over pouring. All the liquor bottles are 1.75. They serve drinks in pint glasses and it is about a 2 to 1 ratio for liquor to mixer. So drink it up. So 2 stars for the wings that looked real good and the strong looking drinks. Stay away during the election though. They speak their mind.

Went to Porkys last night. It’s a good neighborhood bar with typical bar food. The poppers were really good, the cheese fries were ok, but we were really there for the wings. Excellent! Pair all of this good food with a good beer selection on tap and you are guaranteed a good time. Enjoy!

I’ve had wings many places and in many states… hands down Porky’s is the best I’ve ever had over past twenty years they have been consistently the best. Good tap selection and during afternoons ok to bring the kids. There bar pizza is pretty good kids love it. By far my favorite place to grab wings and beers. Highly recommend!

Lobster bisque is to die for! The wings are some of the best in the valley. Some of the wait staff is better than others, like all places, but over all great place!

Wings are good, but that’s where it ends with this place. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Better bars with better food in the area

I am a wing guy and I have to say, so far these are the best wings in the valley. You won’t find any fatty, soggy wings here. These are crispy and melt in your mouth with a swirl of flavor. The seating area is a little tight, but is easily overlooked due to it’s fair prices snd delicious wings. The fries, pizza and Philly cheese steak egg rolls are also equally good! This place has now become my go to wing place!

Food is excellent. Pizza is superb. Thin crust, well portioned toppings so that you taste all equally. The only thing I didn’t care for is that everyone waits on you. And one doesn’t know what the other has done. I’m still a repeat customer.

One of my favorite bars in Shelton. Friendly staff awesome wings and always a good time! The pizza is phenomenal as well. They recently started tapping more craft beer which is a great draw for the younger crowd and keep rotating it. Keep up the great work!!!

Best wings in the valley! Prices are good, service is good, was not disappointed. First time bringing the kids for lunch, and it turned out to be a great dining experience.

Second time in here. Once again disappointed!!! Waitstaff disorganized, hostess caters to friends before customers. Food is medicore, wings have a good blend of spice but expensive. When two people order enough food for five, do not bring it out all at once. Do not know to blame cook or waitstaff or both.

After coming to Porky’s quite a few times, I could see where some of the bad reviews are coming from. Sure the space is kind of blah and you’re not sure whether this is a bar or a family restaurant. But please, set that aside! The wings here are perfectly crisp and meaty, plus they do not skimp on the sauce(get half spicy Thai and half honey barbecue)! Every time I have come here I’ve eaten the wings and I can attest to the consistency of this place! Service could be better, but overall you cannot go wrong with the wings.

Nice downtown bar. My husband and I go there often for a few beers and bar food. Decent wings and their pizza isn’t bad either.

There’s a couple things that instantly struck me about this place once I walked in; it looks like a bare room with a bunch of tables thrown into it and a couple things hanging on the wall. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about ATALL. Also, there is a lot of unnecessary space within the restaurant that could be used to move some tables further apart as in some places you are basically sitting against the person behind you. All that being said, the food is mediocre. The group I was with had tried all the wing flavors as this was our first time visiting. The wings were alright, but no where near the quality as nearby wing joints within a mile of the front door of this place. Moving on we all got sandwiches for dinner. I personally had the burger and it came out cooked tasting like I was chewing on dry meat ready to be added to a tomato sauce or something. It was extremely bland and absolutely no flavor. The fries were obviously Ore-Ida frozen style crinkle cut that you could tell they just shake onto the plate. Probably will not be returning here unless the much-better-quality nearby restaurants are overcrowded and we need a last resort in Shelton for some beers and wings. Oh well!

My boyfriend went to Porky’s because we wanted some good wings and a good drink. I have been going to Porky’s for probably 5 years. So this review isn’t based on a one time experience. My personal opinion is that Porky’s USED to be a great little bar to grab drinks, wings, and pizza. My opinion of Porky’s now is as follows: Food: We ordered 20 wings and asked for them to be ½ BBQ and ½ Thai. It was disappointing when the waitress informed us that Porky’s will not split flavors and that if we wanted both kinds we would need to order to separate orders of wings. To me, this was a little ridiculous and cheap on the owner’s part. But it is what it is and we ordered to batches of wings in both flavors. When the wings came out, I was again disappointed. They were the smallest and saddest looking wings I have ever seen. Not only that but they were barely covered with sauce. This irritated me because we were paying EXTRA for 2 different sauces, yet the wings were basically naked. Another stupid thing: I asked for Ranch dressing with 1 order of the wings because I do not like blue cheese dressing. I was told that this costs extra because blue cheese, and only blue cheese, is what comes with the wings. Again, I put this up to the owner being cheap. We also got the nachos to snack on. When they came out they looked delicious. As we started to eat them however, we realized that only ½ of the cheese was melted. Again –another disappointment. Drinks: Even though the food was disappointing to my boyfriend and me, the drinks were my biggest concern. My boyfriend ordered the IPA they had on draft and I ordered a glass of Barefoot Pinot Noir. BOTHOFOURDRINKSWEREWATEREDDOWN! I don’t know about everyone else but for me this is utterly not acceptable. Just in case you’re doubting me, my boyfriend’s IPA tasted exactly like Bud Light. It was also the color of Bud Light. For anyone who is not familiar with IPAs, they are usually very hoppy and bitter and the usually darker in color. It was CLEAR from looking and even just smelling my boyfriend’s «IPA» that it was not in fact a 100% IPA as it should have been. Also –I ordered the Barefoot Pinot Noir. I drink this wine at home all the time, therefore I know what it should taste like. What I received in my piddly glass was probably half way watered down. The watered down drinks were the deal breaker for me. When owner’s start pulling those kinds of stunts, it means they no longer care about customer satisfaction. Furthermore, if the owner is cutting corners like that, it also makes you wonder what OTHER corners(like with food prep, cleaning, etc) he’s cutting to meet his bottom line. To the owner who probably doesn’t read his reviews on here: Stop trying to cut corners to make more money. You’re the one losing out in the end because it makes people, like boyfriend and I and everyone else that I have talked to about your restaurant, not want to return. I will never return to Porky’s. Especially because there are so many newer places in the area that have better customer service, better food, NONWATEREDDOWNDRINKS, and are also cheaper. Hit up Archie Moore’s in downtown Derby instead. Or drive a little further and try out Prime 16 in Milford. Both of these places have quality products and won’t disappoint!

My second time in and the food and service were top notch. Sat at the bar and was well taken of by Tanya. Started off with the baked stuffed clams which nowadays are next to impossible to find. They were sooo tasty. Must have been made fresh today. Stuffing was flavorful and screaming fresh. Followed up by some buffalo wings which put other competitors to shame. The place was full and bustling. Interesting note, lots of family’s here tonight. Kid friendly. Will be back soon!

Pros: None Cons: Worst place to eat in Shelton! Service is terrible, food is less than mediocre, prices are way too high! Stay away for your stomach’s sake. The crowd of people this place attracts is pretty awful, too. Suggestion: You’re better off walking across the street to Danny O’s or even up the street to Bar 140!!!

Located in the heart of Shelton is a nice spot to stop in have a micro brew on tap and a basket of wings. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. During my first visit my fiancé and I went for a double date with our good friends. On our way to Porky’s we had a gift in the car that we wanted to give to her future bridesmaid. I met with the waitress and told her if she could bring out the gift to surprise my sweethearts friend when I give her the«signal»(when I order another drink)… Let’s just say it worked out well and really turned the night into one to remember over really good food. What we had: — Wings Naked(All three sauces on the side Buffalo, BBQ, and Thai) — Steak and Cheese Sammy(Didn’t like it that much tasted like frozen Steakum’z) — Buff Chicken Sammy(Has a kick to it) Atmosphere — Few tables to sit at — Huge bar with pretty much any drink you can imagine — Roof top seating on the second floor(Def nice for the Summer /Early fall). I’d go back…

In the huge debate between Porky’s and Danny O’s i choose porky’s. I usually order the wings but lately i have been pretty stuck on the buffalo chicken salad. I love the buffalo sauce its not too spicy but then again not too weak. Perfectly coated addition to my salad. The salad was large and very filing. I didn’t stay for a drink as i had take out but most of the time this is my go to place for drinks on the weekends. I love the staff and have never had an issue here. In other words if you’re looking for a place to hang with friends make it Porky’s.
