The baker is 5 stars, for sure. I was a baker for many years and this guy does it old school right! Fantastic baked goods. The coffee, however… meh. The ladies are always friendly, the sour dough wonderful, the muffins are very good. The strudel is the best I’ve had. I only deducted a star because there is no excuse for mediocre espresso in western Washington.

My review for the food and ice cream at Olympic Bakery and Deli would certainly be five stars. I need to give just three stars because of the service. My hope is that this review will be helpful to the owners. It just takes too long to be served at your restaurant. Each time I have been in people are served one at time, which might seem to make sense, but if one person gets your food, heats it, makes your coffee and THEN charges you for it — you have been waiting, standing there for about 10 minutes or more before you have your order. And that’s when you are not busy. I suggest your staff divide up duties — food, coffee, register. Either that, or you should serve and charge at the tables. This is especially bad if I come in with a friend or two.

What a find! Fresh, delicious, and made from SCRATCH! Recommend!!! Delicious sandwiches made with fresh bread! Extensive variety of wines and cheeses… so very good!!! Day 1– Had the turkey sandwich to-go…generous portion of moist turkey with fresh bread and cranberry sauce… Delicious! And bought to-go pastries to enjoy for the following breakfast meal. Loved it all so much, we came back again! Day 2– We met Neil and had a fantastic wine and cheese tasting. Delicious and varied wines… Extensive knowledge of wines and food pairings. He was amazing and made our visit so much fun. Our first taste of sheeps milk bleu cheese! OMG it was incredible! Bought some to go, to enjoy later with our wine purchase. Rueben sandwich with delicious fresh bread, large portion of thinly sliced and juicy corned beef with sauerkraut. It was so flavorful. Delicious! Clam chowder was amazing; home made, savory and loaded with clams. Fresh pastries paired with the perfect port wine… Oh SOO good! Fresh from the oven… warm, delicious cookies to top it all off… Amazing! The owners, Neil and Judith and staff were super warm and friendly. We will be back and we are bringing our friends! We loved this place!!!

We LOVE this family-owned local bakery/café and make a point of stopping here every time we are traveling in the area! Neil and Judith are hard-working people making incredible food from scratch 6 days a week(closed Mondays). It helps they have downsized their café menu to offer simply the best sandwiches/soups/baked goods. They also offer an array of cheeses/meats/wines for purchase, and some local artisan goods for sale. The prices may seem a tad pricey until you get the meal. We split a sandwich and it also included a side salad, chips, pickle and a slice of blueberry pound cake with a raspberry/chocolate compote to top it. We have been going here for at least a dozen years now. Neil came and sat with us answering questions about his start in the business and his passion for baking. He took my husband on a tour of the back and the newest addition. If service seems a little slow, it’s worth it, especially knowing Neil is up baking in the wee hours prior to the store opening and puts in 12 hour days. So, by noon, they have already put in many hours as we all were sleeping. They also offer wine and cheese tasting events. Great place, wonderful people, delicious food!

They have excellent baked goods: pies, pastries, cookies, etc. everything I’ve eaten there is great. However, if you go, don’t be in a hurry. The service is very slow. If you have the time, you’ll be rewarded. Their Apple pie is the best I’ve ever had. Just don’t stop if you’re on a tight schedule. I’ve had to walk out a few times.

The place is great and worth the drive! I would have given the place a 5 but I’m borderline on the ‘edges’ of the pie crust. Everything is homemade in house but the icecream, which is from the local creamery, Olympic Mountain(AWESOME). They offer at least 3 types of delicious quiche daily, soup, sandwiches, several cookies, pies, croissants and other savory and sweet items, oh, also wine and cheese. For years we have ordered our pies for the holidays from here, the innards are always great but I’m a little hesitant to remark on the dry, cooler tasting crust, at times the edges can also leave a slightly lardy slick on the tongue(sorry Neil)…not always, and not with the quiche at all, which is why I’m hesitant to remark about it. Their pecan pie is my favorite! Just yesterday we purchased a piece of sweet potato and mushroom quiche, vegetable quiche, the best maccaroons around, a few other cookies and an apple pie, all were delicious! Service is ALWAYS excellent! Neil the baker is wonderful and will do special orders. Ambiance 5⁄5 Cleanliness 5⁄5 Service 5⁄5 Food Overall 5⁄5 Going Back — ALWAYS! If you dont like something or get bad service, place a call to the baker/owner, Neil! P. S. I’ve shipped their cookies overseas to my son while at war, they ship excellent! Enjoy!

I live down the road from here and refuse to eat the pastries here. It’s always nasty stale and moist. I’ve asked when they make there canolas cuz I love them, and they refuse to tell me. The previous owners ran this place good untill there divorce and sold it to the current owners who have stale pastries and way to expensive sandwich’s. But they have kinda decent fresh bread and amazing ice cream. But they overcharge everything.
