I love hot dogs. Do you? Yes, you sure do. Well, let me let you in on a little secret… the best dog in town isn’t served at Duchess, it’s found right here at Captain’s Pizza. The crisp footlong Captain’s dog comes served on a slightly soggy 9 inch bun with your choice of toppings. Mustard, relish, ketchup(if you suck), sauerkraut, and onions are available, plus maybe more if you inquire. They’d probably throw some of that special Greek white sauce on it if you ask nicely. This review is based only on the Captain’s Pizza hot dog, and their delivery service. I don’t really care much for their other food, it’s nothing special and semi over priced. However, if it’s a hot dog kind of day, trust me. Go here. When i called in my order they said it would take an hour and it only took 53 minutes, so –1 star for inaccuracy.

Food was OK but for whatever reason the waitress Rose chose to ignore us when we tried to grab her attention. Rose had forgotten part of my order and I tried to get her attention. There were only two other tables occupied in the restaurant and I know Rose saw me try to get her attention. She eventually returned very sarcastic when we were about finished but I must say the service ruined this place for me. Waitress told me I should have mentioned the problem when she put the food down. I will never return. Among the worst service I have ever experienced

I love coming here for breakfast on Saturday mornings. Generally it’s hard to mess up breakfast and the home fries and pancakes are really good here. Coffee isn’t bad and the service is good. The posted time in the window says they open at 8:00 on Saturday. Here I sit in the parking lot at 8:20 and the door is locked. This has happened too many times otherwise I would rate 4 stars. I’m heading down the road to someplace that opens when they say they will. Not sure if I’ll be coming back.

This place has really grown on me over time. I mainly order takeout pizza, which I find to be consistently good, so I was surprised to read negative reviews… particularly the one about salsa as the sauce, which I find hard to believe. I consider their plain cheese pizza to be the best in the area. They also have some pretty nice people working the pickup window, which I appreciate.

Extremely disappointed. When I order a cheese pizza, I NEVER expect it to be made with mexican cheese and salsa. My cheese pizza tastes like a taco and it is absolutely terrible. I really dont understand…

Ok food. A very local place. We were seated with menus before some frequent customers came in and their order was taken before ours. They messed yhe order u Pl and actually brough t he correct food to our table but then said that it w a s for the table of locals. The je assumed responsibility but my daughter had to wait another 20 minutes before her food came. Will probably not go back.

Ordered pizza with their delivery today. The pizza was hot but very greasy and soggy, the pizza fell apart after picking up the slices. My husband ordered sausage and cherry peppers, after biting into the pizza slice he realized he had pepper stems in his mouth and nearly choked on them. He called back to speak to the manager to explain to him what happened. Instead of being apologetic or offering to rectify the situation he tells him next time he calls to order that same pizza to tell them on the phone about the pepper stem situation so the kitchen is aware. «They use the same peppers in their entrees». In an entrée you can actually see the food before you take the bites, in a pizza it’s all covered in cheese you can’t see it! As if we would order that or any other pizza from there again just for the poor customer service that was given in this situation… by the way 30 dollars for two small pizzas with a couple of toppings on each. We will never order food from here again.

Some coworkers were ordering from Captains today so I decided to try it. I ordered the Buffalo chicken calzone. It sounded good, and I never thought to order a calzone like this. It was delicious, by far the best calzone I ever had. In addition, I’m one of those guys who rarely has left overs. This calzone was so loaded I could only eat half of it. I just finished the other half now!

One of the best pizzas I’ve had in the Valley area. Delicious sauce, crust and cheese unto itself, but when I ordered their«Philly Steak» variety and asked them to add carmelized onions ta boot — which they did without blinking an eye — the combination of toppings was absolutely incredible. In fact, it was so good, I ordered a second one later that same week, which is rare for me to do since I typically only have pizza once a week if that. Their delivery service was also outstanding as well — both times — especially considering my address is often difficult to find, even using a GPS. Captain’s was the 1st and only pizza place I have ordered from whose deliverers called me BEFORE they even left to confirm exactly where they were going. Very professional! That way, I was able to give them detailed instructions where to go ahead of time. Most other delivery places have called me after they were already lost and then it was up to me to get them«unlost.» Very refreshing to have that not be the case with Captain’s, I miust say. Mange! :)

Kind of disappointed. Way too much cheese and oil. You couldn’t taste the peppers or mushrooms. Crust was good though. Would have hoped for flavored other than cheese.

We have been regulars here for many years. Eat here at least twice a week and take out in between. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Captains pizza has some great food and always has me coming back for more. Everything I have ate has been quite delicious. My issues are among other things. Several times, including tonight, my order has been wrong. I had a pizza delivered which I had ordered and paid for pepperoni topping, only to find out once opening my box that it was plain cheese. Not only is that not what I was expecting but I paid for a topping that was clearly not there. I wish I could say that has only happened once. But I stick by my word that this food is very good and even mistakes like this still don’t have me walking away. The wait time is quite extensive too. A delivery order was stated to take 45 minutes when it took over an hour and a half. Even pick up orders are never on time. I’m always waiting a minimum of fifteen minutes more than what they say the expected time is. For sure there are customer service things which need to be worked on, but I truly enjoy eating what they serve and just hope some changes are made.

From what I’ve seen from the other reviews, the food sounds terrific, but how would you know if you aren’t offered any? We sat for 10 minutes and weren’t even recognized. A member of the wait staff served the booth right next to ours, twice, but we didn’t even get a nod — it was as if we were invisible. They obviously don’t need the business. We left.

Well, the new location is very nice and clean and seemed a little smaller than their last location. Although the set up of the new space could have been thought out a little better. I’ll mention that later in this review. The menu is your basic menu, nothing exciting, but when reading a menu and ordering a food item, one would think the dish being delivered to your table would include the ingredients mentioned on the menu. Apparently, the kitchen staff doesn’t read. We ordered an antipasto for an appetizer. The missing items that were on the menu — prosciutto, olives, fresh basil, oregano and olive oil. Ok, not a deal breaker but 5 ingredients left off the salad was a surprise. The iceberg lettuce was fresh, as was the rest of the ingredients. We ordered a large pie and we were a bit disappointed in the taste and quality as well. The crust was nice and crunchy, which we like, but the dough between the topping and the crust was chewy and raw. Not sure how that could be when we only ordered 2 toppings, so it’s not like it harbored the cooking of the dough. I think that their ovens might have been a little too hot, causing the crust and the top to cook too quick, leaving the«middle» raw. Oh well you can’t have it all. As for the set up of the restaurant, the restrooms are in poor location. Right beside the door to where the food is brought out of the kitchen. Right outside the restrooms is where the waitstaff return the used dishes so you have to walk right by a stack of dirty dishes. Don’t think we’ll return any time soon as there are a lot of other pizza places now in the area that are better.

Friendly service and I LOVED the pizza. Nice and crunchy on the outside and still chewy. Nice spot and if I lived here I would go here frequently.

I love the pizza here. It’s really greasy but I find that adds to the authenticity.

This is my favorite restaurant. I’ve never had anything bad from Captains and eat somewhere between 2 and 6 meals there a week. The best part of the experience is the staff. Most of the wait people have been there for many years and are eager to please. The owner is on site most of the time too, so there is good supervision. The décor could use to be updated, but the place is generally clean and and pleasant. Some of the booths do not move, so it could be tight if two larger customers want to dine on opposite sides of a booth. There are some tables in the rear though so larger customers can be accommodated.

Captains Pizza is a great greek-style pizza restaurant that has pretty much become a home-away-from-home for me. The staff is friendly and helpful, the pizza is tasty(though greasy), and the food in general is always good. This is not fine dining, to be sure, but it is a good place for family and friends to gather and have a good time. Especially good if you have children. There is also a nice bar area with several flatscreen TVs, if you’re into that kind of thing.

I had to write a review simply to warn people to stay away. The sauce tastes like water… so basically, the whole pie is tasteless. I’ve given the majority of the locations a chance too… and they just stink. Maybe I’m spoiled off of New Haven pies… but stay far away from this place!
