Some time between 2015 and 2016, my taste buds for El Camino changed. I used to enjoy coming here for lunch with the colleagues, and also was a popular spot for our Cinco de Mayo get-togethers. However, these days the food has been average at best. The lunch menu prices also has gone up. Before average mexican food for a low price was a decent option to get out of the office mid-day, but average quality food for a higher price makes it tougher to walk in those doors. Staff is always friendly, although it really is a fast moving service — «drinks? ready to order? More chips? check?». If you’re looking for a fast service, clean area for mexican food, this is your place. However, there are better options in the city for Mexican food.

I really like this place. I take my son and his family and everybody gets exactly what the want. Our waiter, Juan, always makes sure that every detail is taken care of. which is no easy task with 3 kids! I am moving out of state soon. I will really miss this place!

don’t bite off more than you can chew… i think we went on an off day. unfortunately though, the experience made a lasting impression. we were obviously seated in a room normally reserved for a banquet style party. that meant we were kinda forgotten and service was spotty. i applaud their being accommodating but they were overwhelmed, understaffed and backed up in the kitchen. they ran out of side plates and just seemed a bit scattered overall. my veggie fajitas were promising but heavy handed on the salt. the shared guacamole was plentiful and healthy in color but lacked in flavor.

I could seriously eat their steak fajitas all day every day. Nom nom nom. Had a large party which kept growing, but they were VERY accommodating. Our server was very attentive. Free chips and salsa to start. Only had a few chips(on a diet, you know) but they were super tasty. Steak fajitas came out sizzling hot with a side plate of beans, rice, pico, and guac(no sour cream) and your choice of tortillas. I ate mine without tortillas and it was awesome. When I got home, husband had already eaten lunch and didn’t want my leftovers. I gave them to him to try anyways, and he made short work of them. Any time I came near him to see how he liked them, he tried to stab me with his fork as he didn’t want to share. Well done, El Camino.

Went in at 1:00 on a Friday. They were moderately busy but not overwhelming. I sat for 20 minutes without so much as an «I’ll be right with you.» The table behind me, however, got 5 — star service complete with a nice chat. Watched other tables order and receive their food as well. Didn’t bother sticking around. Very disappointed.

Food came out in minutes. Not prepared fresh that’s for sure. Mediocre at best. I’ll stick with Qudoba.

Food is gross and taste like it’s been microwaved! Rude staff and owner does not care about customers complaints. Never going back! I would give negative stars but 1 is the only option so beware people!

The servers are good, if not a bit too anxious. When busy they are buzzing throughout the dining areas. The restaurant is clean and neat. Tables salsas are very good. Caldo De Cameron is spicy with nice sized shrimp. Steaming hot! Ordered a side Lenqua taco. A little bland but good. Corn tortillas are not greasy! Hubs got the steak plate with cheese enchiladas and beef taco. He said it was very good. He has had this before here too. Wish we lived closer. I’d say 3.5 stars.

Let me begin by saying that there were probably 15 people waiting to get a table when my party left El Camino at 6:45 pm on a Thursday, so I would suggest ignoring bad reviews. We are in Sheboygan people! I have been here on several occasions and have never been disappointed. Jose’ was an awesome server and accommodated every request quickly(e.g. we forgot to order guac and he had it to the table in 2 minutes). Most of our party(not huge Mexican food fans) ordered chicken quesadillas and simply destroyed their meal. Everyone was very happy with their choice. We all enjoyed the guacamole as well, which had very subtle flavors and no lime(thank you!) which many restaurants ruin by drowning in bitter citrus, covering the awesome avocado flavor. They also provide delicious chips and salsa, with mild and«hot» salsa options. The mild is full of tomato and cilantro flavors. The hot salsa is flavorful with a little kick. I went ala carte this time, trying 3 tacos — steak, pork, and beef, along with a side of rice. The steak and pork were very flavorful and a great complement to the fresh corn tortillas. The beef was a little disappointing and could have used a little spice. El Camino’s traditional Margarita is good, but I’ve had better. It tastes like a bottle mix with tequila. But I’m not complaining. My only suggestion would be for El Camino to offer some hot sauce options. I used our hot salsa, which worked out just fine, but I’m sure someone in their kitchen has thoughts on a killer hot sauce. If you are in Sheboygan and need a Mexican food fix, I can’t think of anywhere better to go than El Camino.

I’ve been here a few times now, and it never disappoints. Last night, my girlfriend and I went to El Camino for dinner, and it was a lovely experience. We were seated immediately. Thankfully, we didn’t mind sitting inside. There was a bit of a wait for the patio seating upstairs. We quickly got our drinks, and a basket of free chips and two salsas, one mild and one hot. The interior is exactly what you’d expect for an American-Mexican place. Brightly colored walls, Day of the Dead and other decorations on the walls, Mexican music playing in the background. It was busy, but not too loud or crowded. To start out, we ordered an appetizer of Super Nachos with chicken($ 9.25). These are standard nachos with your choice of chicken or beef, cheese, jalapenos, sour cream, and guacamole. Super nachos indeed. The portion was MASSIVE. But more importantly, it was delicious. It came out in all of 5 minutes, but was cooked well and hot, the cheese was completely melted. I was impressed. Then came our entrees. My girlfriend ordered a #1 Combination Platter($ 10.25) which comes with Chicken enchilada, chicken tostada, and a chicken taco, plus rice and beans. She also added on a chicken burrito($ 4.25). She loved all of it, and kept bouncing happily from item to item, unable to decide what to eat next. I ordered the chicken chimichangas($ 11). It comes two to an order, plus rice and beans. I also added on a chile relleno($ 3.75). The chimichangas were good, like always. Crisp on the outside. The chicken in the middle was so juicy and flavorful– dry chicken has never been an issue of mine at El Camino. The chile relleno was just okay, it wasn’t super flavorful and could have used more cheese. But it was edible. We skipped on the dessert this time but I recommend their fried ice cream, it’s delicious. This place is great for the price. We both enjoyed our meal, and we walked away with full stomachs and three to-go containers worth of food to enjoy later. You can’t beat that!

There is no doubt that this is the best Mexican restaurant in Sheboygan. The service is not the most friendly but they really are fast. They give you two versions of salsa with the very crispy chips. The guacamole is a little bland so i added their pico de gallo to it. Very small draft beer list but great margaritas. The fajitas are delicious and the main reason is the sauce in the skillet they are served in. The verde enchiladas and pork chimichanga are both great choices. Parking situation is not the best.

The food is good but they treat the Hispanic community like complete trash. If you’re Caucasian, then this is the place for you, considering the fact that they will provide you excellent service. As for hispanics, they give dirty looks, take forever to take your order and rarely check up on you. I find it quite ungrateful on their part, since it was the Hispanics that made their restaurant known around town. I think my family and I will stop coming here, good thing there is other Mexican restaurants in town, that treat customers equally.

I’ll start at the beginning of our visit. Bar empty, waited 5 – 10 min. For bartender to show. Got chips and salsa with our drinks though. Pre-made Marguretas? Went to table, got water, menus and chips and salsa and asked if we wanted other drinks from bar. Two minutes server took order, 5 min. Food on table. Huge plate, large portion of beans and rice. Entrée was OK but had so much cheese on it, main part under(meat) was minimal. Much more cheaper filling sides than meat. No way a normal person can eat it all and not explode. No hot sauce on table, really? «Hot» salsa not even close to hot. Food mediocre at best. Service very fast. They seem more interested in high table turnover than serving a really good quality, well proportioned meal.

A solid choice for Mexican food in Sheboygan. For a sit-down restaurant it’s probably the fastest we’ve ever been to(almost suspiciously fast?). Guac comes with piles of chips which are paper thin and very crispy. We usually get one of the combo platters which are very reasonably priced and the fajitas. The fajitas were awesome but I ordered the combo meat fajitas and it came with really strange, awkwardly large slabs of artificial crab meat. I end up just picking it out. Atmosphere is friendly and inviting. Service was also good.
