The end is near. Well the end is here for us! We have always supported Twisters. We loved the old Johnny’s because it was a small town local bar that wasn’t about a billion tv’s and trying to keep up with the Jones’s. When they moved across the street we hated the new location; a billion TV’s and more expensive food to pay the rent. When Twisters opened we were once again aquatinted to that same small hometown bar feel. We found the corn nuggets and we were in love. It became a weekly trip, sometimes several times a week to get the golden deep fried corn nuggets. Well, over time the wait staff that we loved came and went but we stayed loyal to the nuggets. The staff now are not as attentive, the food has gone downhill, and the corn nuggets are gone. Yep, gone… Our waiter today said that they are no longer buying the corn nuggets so they are off the menu. Well that is sad. This will be our last night here I’ve finished my beer and the waiter has still not taken our order. Tonight I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. ***PSA*** DON’t EVERORDERIT!!! That was not buffalo sauce? How can you mess up a buffalo chicken sandwich. The batter was burnt and falling off the sandwich. It tasted as if it was straight from the freezer. The food is so bad now. It’s destined to close. Last time we were there my wife ordered the ultimate nachos and be warned. The cheese is from a can and will instantly turn the entire pile of chips into a soggy mess. I swear they use to use different oil and fryers for the different foods. Now every fried food tastes like the same old oil. It’s sad to see a place go downhill so fast. I guess we are off to find a new joint to call home.

Don’t let the location of this place throw you off. Looks like it may be a dive but it’s a fun little local bar. Service is attentive and food is great. I actually think their Mexican food are the best items on the menu. They are great at making your food to order without a hassle. Beer is cold and cheap. Karaōke night is a blast and family friendly. Great unpretentious bar with affordable and good bar food.

We showed up for happy hour. We had a server that maybe thought he was there with some of the people on the patio because he spent more time out there. Ordered a beer and a cocktail and 3 appetizers. Beer came, cocktail didn’t. Took maybe 10 minutes or more. Finally, he came to apologize that they were out of Makers Mark, so had to go to the store to get it. It would have been better to just tell us you were out of Makers Mark and let us decide if we wanted to wait a million years for you to go to the store to buy some more. Appetizers were of the frozen variety. Considering the very reasonable price(½ price during happy hour), we were not surprised. Much like Goldilocks, one was over cooked, one was undercooked and one was just right: mini corndogs, corn nuggets, and mushrooms(in that order). We got out of there with a $ 15 tab, which isn’t too bad when you consider, a mixed drink, beer and 3 appetizers. So, if you really just wanna eat a bunch of fryer food(which sometimes I do), it wasn’t so bad. A little loud, but considering the type of place it is… not surprising. Oh, one more complaint… the patio has smokers, but they had the outside door open to the patio and the smoke was blowing right in the restaurant.

My chicken grande burrito was delicious. It was generously sized, and packed with plenty of shredded white meat, and some beans. The salsa and cheese topping was also tasty. Also, the price was just $ 5.50 including free chips and salsa(Tuesday special). The service was friendly and attentive, while the interior was spacious and fairly new, with background music.

It probably won’t win any awards, but the lunch specials are pretty good. Tuesday and Thursday hard tacos for a buck 50 apiece are pretty good, and what I had today. Giant soft tacos on Wednesday and Sunday. Drinks are reasonably priced. I will definitely be back to explore more of the menu. 3.5 stars food wise really, but the service is 4.5 stars good.

Taco nights are on point! We go here all the time on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays. Get chicken and cheese hard tacos with the hot buffalo sauce and it will BLOWYOURMIND! Great servers, Cassandra is our favorite and the guys at the bar are awesome too. Drink specials and tacos? Can’t beat it!

They weren’t even busy and we waited over 25 min and finally got our drinks. We left and didn’t even order food. The servers were all visiting at the hostess stand and ignoring the customers. We won’t be back. This restaurant won’t be around long.

Where do I start? Just awful. Probably the worst bar I’ve ever been to. Only like 5 genaric beers on tap. Had nachos and they tasted like crap. Bad service. The worst part are the prices. I ordered fireball shots that were«on special» at $ 3 when the waitress brought them out they were half a shot at most. When I brought it up the the waitress she laughed it off. I work right by there. I won’t be back.

My daughter and I went on a Friday evening. No problem getting a table. It was LOUD! Like so loud we couldn’t hear each other. The food was fine, very reasonably priced. I just don’t think they will make it. There are so many better food options in town. My Reuben and onion rings were ok but just nothing to write home about. Her chicken wrap was pretty good. I always root for locally owned businesses but with Johnny’s across the street and Saints right down the road I just don’t think this place can compete.

Awful. The staff was nice, but they sat us in the far room which seemed a bit odd. We were asked what we would like to drink but they had no drink menu. The only things they had on tap as far as I can tell is Budweiser and the like. None of this was a big deal, but the food was awful. I was here with my girlfriend, her food she said was good until she tried the cold rice, which wasn’t just room temperature but rather seemed like it was straight out of a refrigerator, the sliders I ordered are served dry and taste like something from the frozen section of a grocery store, I was not a fan of the twice baked potato, and my girlfriends normal sized margarita turned out to be $ 7 a pop which was quite the shock when getting the bill(keep in mind, no drink menu). I have no plans to be back and don’t see how they plan to survive with all of the better options right next to them.

Holy cow. The loaded baked potato is huge! Came here with our party of six and asked the hostess if we could have a table that’s not by the door(it’s cold outside and we didn’t want to be in the way of cold breezes while we’re trying to enjoy a meal). She immediately rolled her eyes, sighed, then found us a different table and dropped our menus down. I don’t know if maybe she was mad for having to work on the day after Christmas? But for being a new location, what kind of impression does that leave new potentially loyal customers who just walked through the door? Looking all around, this place is pretty spacious. Chiefs, Sporting KC, KU and KSU items decorate the walls. There are some TV’s but it’s not overloaded. There’s a bar. And there are arcade games. Our server was the complete opposite of the hostess. She was nice and considerate and seemed happy! Our appetizer was yummy, we had the twisters dip and chips. I forgot to take a picture but it was yummy. For our actual meal, I included pictures of most of the orders. I had the Mushroom + Swiss burger with the loaded baked potato. The burger bun was actually really good(probably because it was toasted so it wasn’t soggy). The burger itself seemed a little dry to me but I just fixed that with ketchup. The loaded baked potato amazed me. Mainly because 1) it was HUGE and 2) look at that bacon! It was wonderfully delicious! All in all, our visit to this location went pretty well(besides the very beginning). The quality of our food + our courteous server made everything better. Will probably try this place out again next time.
