Hungry Hut

We only go through here once or twice a year and it’s just enough time to forget how horrible the services every single time! We get tricked because the burgers are decent and the shakes are good but the customer service is AWFUL! They make no concessions for special orders and today we ordered a chicken wrap that says lettuce and tomato and they served it full of spinach and refused to replace it with lettuce or even give me lettuce to put on it myself. Bizarre! Never again!!! Avoid this place. Drive down the hill and go to sequoia sandwich on willow and Herndon for a good burger. This place is unbelievably awful

If you order outside you can’t go in side. We were told rudely by the «waitress» that if we wanted to eat inside we had to order off the inside menu. Even though they share the same building we had to wait outside. Got our food 25 minutes later and it was warm. The fries were old and tasted like they were microwaved. I would not eat here again.

Writing this review on behalf of my parents who went there today to have lunch and had horrible service, so bad they choose to eat in the car rather than deal with the old woman inside who was yelling at them for doing what they were told by the waitress. We’ve been going here for years but because of the encounter my parents had today we will never be back, there are other places in town to eat.

Great service ! Great burger ! Angelica was ON it :) The «dining» room is very small, but cozy! There is no public bathroom :(But the burgers are fantastic and our service was just great! We wouldn’t hesitate to come back! Thank you!

We ordered a couple of fried burritos and an order of zucchini. The food was ridiculously expensive and it’s pure junk. You’d get a better meal opening a cheap can of Campbell’s chicken noodle soup. Don’t go here, it’s not worth it.

I took my family there not realizing it was closing soon. The inside dining area was closed and it was right before a storm. The fries were hard as rocks and hollow…40 bucks for this garbage. The staff was really nice, too bad the food sucks.

Food awesome when you have been camping for a few days. To even Fresno standard it’s sub par. The person taking orders, super rude. Don’t ask them to swirl the ice cream (chocolate and vanilla) they will give you attitude. I guess it is too advance for them.

Absolutely the WORST!!! Food took an hour to receive. The old man on oxygen took our order, we asked for a powerade, the blueberry one. The man said red or blue… I said what ever color the blueberry one is. He said. we only take the order by red or blue. I said blue… he wrote red!
We received a red one… when I asked the old lady to trade it for a blue one she refused. She said he wrote down red so that’s what we order. Then because I touched the bottle… she said I contaminated the bottle & she couldn’t exchange it because of cross contamination & the health inspector would shut them down if she exchange it. Then she shut the window on me!!! They should be shut down!!!
They give Shaver Lake a bad name!!!

2 hamburgers, 2 medium ice teas, small fry. $ 21.00. When I asked for more ice for my tea, he was going to charge me. Carl’s Jr burgers are better. The good news is, it’s up for sale.

This place is absolutely ridiculous! If I could give it 0 stars I would. Rude, overpriced and the food is NOT worth any of that. If you’re looking for a good burger place go to Pub-​N-​Grub!

Terrible, $ 27.00 for 2 cheeseburgers, 1 curly fry, a milkshake and water. For water they give you a small cup with no ice. There is a tap water depended outside. The water came out brown, like rust un-​drinkable. Drive to the fosters in Prather, better food and cheaper.

HORRIBLE!!!
The food was almost as bad as the manager of this dump! The only reason why they are still in business is probably because they are in the middle of nowhere and the health inspector is unable to drive that far to close them down. The manager is the rudest woman alive and God forbid if she screws up your order because she won’t fix it. It’s ice cream! How much does it cost to replace it with the right flavor?

I wish I would have read these reviews earlier because I would avoid this place like the plague. Which I think I have after eating at this dump. The food was expensive and awful. The owner screwed up my order and refused to fix the problem. In her words, «I have the right to refuse service to you «.
Stay Away if you value your health.

I have never been compelled to ever write a bad review for any other establishment than this one! The only thing worse than the food is the poor customer service. Yes, it is as bad as all the other previews reviews suggest! There is a reason there are so many warnings on the windows! Read them but please, do yourselves a favor and eat elsewhere! Read the review of the person that used to work there, I wish I had! I only wish I didn’t have to leave any stars at all!

Worse than a fast food chain. My husband wouldn’t even finish his burger, which is a first. Kitchen does not look clean. Bummed we wasted money and time here. Don’t do it.

We had a pleasant experience at the hungry hut.
The waitress was nice and friendly. The food was good and milkshakes were great…

I was nervous to try this place becauSe of the reviews but I’m glad I did. My husband had a hamburger and he loved it. My kids and I all had grilled cheese and fries and it was great. The fries were perfect! We also had a Oreo shake that was SO yummy! I’d love to eat here again. The service was great. The food did take a little bit but it was made fresh so I was happy to wait. I’d say give this place a try.

I used to work there when I went to sierra high school, I wasn’t proud of it necessarily, but it put gas in my car and bought my clothes. All I can say is every single one-​star review is telling the truth, the owners are insane, and try to cut health code corners. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!

Terrible service. Charged my friend to change the kind of cheese on her burger and wouldn’t even consider accommodating me as a vegan. Charged another customer next to us for a cup of ice for her kids insulin! Don’t go there!

Me: Can I get a side order of pickles?
S: We don’t do that.
Me: you don’t do side orders of pickles?
S: No
Me: looks like you have pickles for the burgers.
S: we don’t do side orders of pickles for sandwiches.
Me: but I can get a side order of jalapeños for 50 cents?
S: yes
Me: can I do pickles for 50 cents?
S: no
Me: for a dollar?
S: no
Me: $ 20?
S: no
Me: here’s the money, can I use your bathroom?
S: no
Me: okay, thank you
S: your sandwich will be ready in 20 minutes
Recommendation: go just for the entertainment factor of predictably bad and rude service and always ask for side orders and modifications to your order.
To the owner, I will revise my review if your staff is more friendly next time.
