Let me begin by saying that we were recommended to Coriander by a colleague. Both my husband and I just moved to Norwood recently, so we couldn’t wait to find a new Indian restaurant nearby. Arrived on a Thursday night, we waited half hour to get seated, another 20 minutes to place our order, and our appetizer finally arrived an hour after we arrived at the restaurant. We ordered Vegetable Momo, and it was okay. Our entrees took another half hour(right after my husband complained to the staff, who explained they were having a busy night). We had Lamb Uttapam, Chicken Tikka Masala, and a side order of Aloo Gobhi: Pieces of minced lamb was sprinkled over two pancakes, chicken chunks in the Chicken Tikka lacked the grilled flavor and was under seasoned, and the Aloo Gobhi had no flavor whatsoever, not to mention the occasional surprise bitterness from chewing on some unknown spice. Our dining experience was less than satisfactory. It was a disappointment as we really wanted to find a new favorite restaurant. We do not plan on returning to Coriander.

NIRVANAINTHE ‘BURBS! My first long-intended, but totally spontaneous visit to this local Himalayan treasure, Coriander, was a delicious surprise! I found this delightful Indian-Nepalese café to appear clean, cool-ish on an unseasonably hot spring afternoon, busy but achieving all within a calm, atmosphere. The gracious atmosphere of the dozen-tabled(deuces &4-tops all of which look combinable) lunch-set-up restaurant seems inviting of quiet chat. WHUUUTTT?!! Conversations actually audible to one’s table mates, with coolness reinforced by mint green table LINENS, china white serving ware, and(incongruously?!?) piped Western classical piano music surrounding all. NIRVANA! My lunch-time experience featured a prompt welcome and seating by two neatly uniformed(in darker green shirts) servers, friendly chef waving from the kitchen pass-through, all amid traditional décor paying homage to the gods and goddesses of Hindu culture. Overwhelmed by the printed menu leaves, I chose to gain an overview of quality trying the hot lunch buffet. I have sampled Indian buffets in a variety of cities in North America. Coriander’s beats the best Toronto and others have had to offer in freshness, temperature, variety and clarity of ingredients on carefully labelled items! In my opinion, Coriander would be a VERY good place to start if you are new to the delights of Nepalese-Indian Far East cuisine! Served primarily from impressively-sized copper hot-caldron arrays, the range of vegetarian, chicken or shrimp entrees was excellent. Flavors were distinct, tandoori chicken WAS smoky-flavored from a grill-like process. Basmati rice was long-grained, hot, fragrant and plentiful! Chicken chunks in the masala were so large and numerous, I had trouble getting just some sauce in the serving spoon! Couldn’t possibly begin to try the mulligatawny soup, a lentil dhal, or any of the super cool dessert items offered from an icy-salad-type-bar! Not even room enough for their storied chai! Customary up and down journeys in buffet-style aside, I LOVED being kindly served fresh garlic nan(bread,) hot from an oven! I asked for mango chutney which was listed on the menu as an additional charge, but I was throwing caution to the WINDS, apparently!!! WOO-HAAAAH! I promptly received a nice bowl with spoon of heavenly, tangy chutney but NOCHARGE was added to my extremely, ridiculously tiny BILL… not even after I pointed the omission out to a server! I ESPECIALLYLOVED being able to order the UNSWEETENED yogurt drink to which I am HOPELESSLY addicted from time spent with Turkish loved ones in and out of Turkey! I’m sure I’ll try their Mango Yogurt drink some sweltering summer afternoon, though! Closed between 3:00−5:PM, worth waiting for as the temptations beyond 5: PM, for a la carte dinner items are the stuff of foodie dreams! The menu is as exotic as it is extensive! I departed confident of many a return visit for lunch alone! Tucked into a leafy corner of Deborah Sampson’s historic Sharon, street and public parking lots close by, CORIANDER’S worthy of a whole host of return visits! DANEHBAT, CORIANDER!

Flavorless and bland dishes. But the naan and chutney are really good. Mango lassi is pretty good too.

A travesty in the name of Indian food. Spices and aromatics are not cooked through. Way, way too much spice, in everything.

OMG worst food ever. I never smell food inside restaurant, Indian restaurant when you open door you smell nice food. Cant swallow food. Don’t know what I eat. I am Indian citizens still so I know taste what’s should be taste in food. Mix veg is just potatoes fry and green long beans fry just salt and some Indian masala. Chicken can’t chew or cut by knife at all that’s they called chicken tikka. My daughter loudly shouting can’t cut what is this chicken… Very hudge pieces and hard. Gravy is just tomato pure inside they put creamy milk kind of taste with masala, if this restaurant in India people never stepped inside… Sorry but don’t deserve Indian restaurant and don’t find coriander in any vegitable or any food today buffet and that impossible what they have food without coriander. Comon guys don’t waste money here. No private parking. Park on street or backside some spots for 3hr Max parking signage. Looks Nepali people own this restaurant. Worst worst worst food all over the world Indians food in USA. Never ever tasted worst food even in streets of India. Bad worst food. What you are eating never know… Left over all paid money and told bad worst food $ 0 tip. Again don’t waste money.

The service was excellent, the food flavorful. Our only complaint was the restaurant was freezing. We did complain to our waiter. We ate with our coats on! To be fair the ceilings are high.

I wish I could give a better review, but I couldn’t. We were seated in a corner two person table and when I asked the hostess to sit in the empty table close to the window, we were told it was reserved. We didn’t see a reserved sign and the whole time we dined the table was never occupied. That was a huge turn off and our dining experience only got worse. We ordered the vegetable momos and it was filled with peas and cabbage. It tasted OK. And we ordered Mysore Masala Dosa, Vegetable Uthappam and Chicken Biriyani. There is Peas, peas, peas everywhere and seem like the chef is obsessed with peas. Honestly I do like peas and after this dining experience I am probably not intending to eat peas for a month. Chicken Biriyani was more like a chicken fried rice. After this not so great dining experience, not sure we will come here again.

A hidden gem and wonderful surprise. Wasn’t aware of any authentic Indian cuisine locally. Comfortable atmosphere and well attended. Lamb vindaloo and mint nan both terrific. Friendly, attentive servers. Will be back soon to try other dishes. Tandoori next.

Hi, whether you are vegetarian, vegan, or a meat eater the lunch buffet and dinner menu has something to suit your preference, The quality of the food is fine, the wait staff very cordial, the atmosphere friendly, the family takes pride in their service. The quality of the food is consistently appetizing everyday of the week. I think you will be happy you stopped in for lunch or dinner,

Extremely delicious Palaak paneer, garlic naan, and vegetable samosas. The aloo gobi was very good but a tad heavy on the ginger. The chicken korma was good but the pieces were a little big and a little dry. I would love to go back for their buffet and try more dishes. The service was outstanding and the food was great. They were even generous portions, and the prices are very reasonable.

Great place. Staff is very friendly and hospitable. Lunch buffet is fresh and delicious, and a great value. Probably the best restaurant in Sharon, and definitely worth driving out of the way for.

My boyfriend and i came here for dinner and overall it was a nice experience. The ambience is spot on, the wait staff is extemely attentive and the portion sizes were good. The food was so-so, i was not a fan of the overcooked rice, and salt apparently was not in their vocabulary. When you think Indian food there’s flavor galore but here there really wasn’t, with a few moderations i think they would hit a home run.

Have eaten here several times and never have been disappointed! Food is always delicious and hot. Have gotten the dinner for two(non-vegetarian) on several occasions and allows for enough food for 4 people so we always have lots of leftovers and another tasty meal the next day. Service isn’t always extremely fast, but knowing that going in you won’t feel rushed even when it’s a busy Friday/Saturday evening.

Great food. Outrageously expensive. I moved here from Los Angeles, where I could get Indian food from 10 different places within 2 miles… ALL were cheaper than this. I think because it is the ONLY Indian place within 5 miles, they are so expensive??? Dunno. Wish I could eat here more, can’t afford it!

Delicious! Had a great meal here. Started with the Samosa and the Fried Squid. The fried squid was just okay which is why I give it 4 stars. We then tried the Lamb Curry and the Chicken Tikka Masala for our entrees which were both delicious. Great local option that’s close to home.

I placed a take out order today. Never been to that place before. I ordered samosas and chicken Korma. The food was delicious, everything tasted as it should. The place itself looks cute and well decorated. The reason why I’m not giving them 5 stars is because they said they didn’t get the online order quickly, so the food was not ready as promised and I had to sit another 10 min there waiting for it.

I came here with my boyfriend last night and we both loved it! We shared the vegetarian dinner for two– around $ 35 for samosas, soup, rice, naan, two veggie entrees of choice, raita, and dessert. It was a very good deal, especially considering the fact that we still have leftovers! The staff was friendly and polite. The food was delicious and tasted authentic– not too greasy or oily like at a lot of Indian restaurants in the Boston area. I will definitely come back– I am interested in trying their lunch buffet at some point. Very cute ambiance as well– looks very upscale when you walk in, with beautiful statues, christmas lights, and fancy green tablecloths, but the diners dress fairly casual.

I went to eat here & there was a sign on the door that they are closed 3 – 5. It is not common for a place to be closed at a random point of the day. I checked their website and it does mention it however it is not on the front page and you have to click contact us to see it. So we drove a while to come here for it to be closed. If I come back and try it I will edit my review.

We had(non vegetarian) dinner for two Which was a fantastic deal: Soup(mulligatawny) to dessert(rasmalai and Khulfi) Servers were prompt, flexible and easy to work with Décor is upscale and yet diners were in relaxed clothes Price was great for what we got and most of it had to be brought home Had lamb pakora, chicken mango, duck khadai and mixed grill All looked good and tasted better Mango chicken was a nice surprise! Not sweet and sour but great mango taste and great big chunks of mango

Solid service, tasty enough Himalayan fare and they will make your vindaloo as spicy as you’d like. Downtown Sharon doesn’t have a lot going on but if you’re there and not looking to hop on the highway Corriander is a good place to eat.

taking a stroll in the neighborhood looking for dinner. heard about this place a long time; finally got to try it. walked in and were seated promptly. the place was a little too quiet with the unused buffet setup sitting on the side; looked a little deserted but ok. menu was a little overwhelming w/lots of text; could be simplified a bit. server was polite and helpful: got our food order in quickly, recommended good level of spiciness, refilled water w/a smile. food didn’t look like anything special, but the flavors were all there. the colorful dipping sauces were a great visual plus! pricing, totally affordable with many entress between the $ 10 – 15 range. neither of us could finish the food; i found mine was still very tasty on the day after! hub was a little disappointed that they didn’t pack his cleaned out bone(he wanted to save the marrow) — i told him to specifically instruct the waiter but he didn’t ask, so he didn’t receive. don’t know about the buffet experience, but dinner was a good one.
