Brunswick Community College

Worst possible community college in NC. The staff is useless; be prepared to be sent through a maze of confusion when you go there for advising or to get books. None of the staff have a clue what they are doing except for a select few. Many of the teachers are actually very good, but stifled by this school’s horrible environment.
I had to drop a summer class because they didn’t have enough textbooks for everyone and «weren’t getting anymore, sorry». Then I had to pay $ 60 just to get the drop fee removed from my account before they would send my transcript to the university I promptly transferred to (had to get as far away from BCC as possible).
Some of my classes were good but my overall experience with this school was so amazingly dreadful that I transferred early to get out. They told me that I had to come in and take a placement test AFTER they had already approved me to take the courses that the test was required for (they were on my final semester schedule). When I scheduled it, studied for a week and called out of work to take the test, I arrived to simply be told «Oh, you don’t have to take it actually. Seeya later» basically. Then, I get a call from them the next afternoon and someone tells me, «Oh, sorry you actually did need to take that.» Absolute idiots run the place. I was so angry, I told them that there was no way I was coming back to waste another day trying to figure out how to do their job for them. Go somewhere else like Cape Fear or university and never look back at this horrific excuse for a school.
