Had such a wonderful experience today at Split Ends that I wanted to write a review. I just moved to MD and needed to find a new salon. I was set up with Amanda, who was so sweet and patient with me and all of my questions about how to do something different to my hair. She really took the time to make sure I understood how my hair would look and ensured we were on the same page with colors before getting started.,(I previously had typical highlights my whole life and we went with the balayage coloring style.) She was so reassuring the whole time, and made sure that if I didn’t like it at the end, it could easily be fixed. At the end, she trimmed, blew dry and even styled my hair after I mentioned the wand curling style. I absolutely loved everything… Amanda, the salon(very clean, in a decent area within a shopping center), the environment with all employees so friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back!

Okay, so I was new to the area and needed a trim so I came to Unilocal and saw the reviews for this salon were are pretty good; I figured I’d give it a shot… um no. Lets start by this. I come from a upper class area of Harford County… I’ve paid 70 dollars for a trim before, so money isn’t an issue when it comes to my hair. I’ll pay what I need to pay for good service. When I first called I spoke with a secretary(I am assuming, forgive me if I have mislabeled your job title) I also did not get her name and I am mad at myself for that because she was SO sweet. I explained to her my hair type.(I have very thick curly hair) I typically get my hair cut dry so that it doesn’t shrink up when styling. To my surprise they had an opening that evening with Christie. I explained to the receptionist that my hair was not straightened that day and if that would be an issue and her response I quote«Oh no, it will be no issue at all, the stylist will work with you». I went into this thinking everything would be ok. I walked in and there was one person in the entire salon… I waited to be greeted and when I finally was I was interrupted by another conversation. Once I got into the chair I explained to Christie what I had told the receptionist on the phone… her response«There is no way I’m getting my comb through that hair» EXCUSEME… THATHAIR? lol My hair was not knotty at all… I have very healthy very nice curls… I just have a lot of hair. She then proceeded to ask me what to do. I told her just wash and straighten my hair and cut it. She made small talk which was nice but as soon as I told her I just moved to the area and my friend who is a known stylist in Harford county use to do my hair, the entire appointment changed. She was very short with me and my hair cut took all of 5 minutes. It was a mediocre hair cut, nothing fancy. I’m not sure why the conversation changed once she knew that. I moved over an hour away, yes my friend USE to do my hair, but now I was looking for a new stylist… I was even looking for new product but she didn’t try to sell me anything all she said was«I suppose you get your products from your friend»…actually, no… no I don’t and you lost sale on products and my business that day. I would never go back because of how uncomfortable I felt. I will take my business elsewhere to a stylist who actually cares. Oh, and like I said for a $ 50 hair cut… it was rushed and nothing fancy… my hair looks like it already needs another cut!

Kristina is amazing. I usually just get a trim at a chain and after drastic hair loads, realized i needed help fast. I had a free consultation that lasted well over an hour. I had my hair cut and colored. The results are beautiful. I can’t recommend Kristina enough.

Had my first haircut here and loved it. Christie did a wonderful job. I was in and out in less than half and hour but she did amazing. I’ve been struggling to find a good salon. I’ve had too many bad experiences since I moved to MD. and she did great. I will definitely be coming back.

My granddaughter wanted her haircut before we left on vacation. I had read the reviews on the salon and decided to give it a try. We did not have an appointment but rather walked in and they were able to accommodate us right away. A very nice young man named Joey cut my granddaughters hair. He did a wonderful job on her hair and was engaged in conversation with her all throughout her haircut. She is thrilled with her hair. The entire atmosphere at the salon was warm and welcoming I can definitely see us coming back here again.

I have been looking for a good hairstylist close to my house for a while, since I moved to MD. I am not too picky about you hair, but had been unlucky in the past 2 years. I read the nice reviews from Unilocal about Split Ends and decided to book an appointment and I am definitely going to become a regular customer. Kristina B. did my hair last night, I was frustrated with a bad experience last month with another salon and she knew exactly what to do to fix it and I love my long bob and highlights now! Thank you Kristina and Split Ends for the warming welcoming… Now I found my local salon and hair stylist for sure!

I was in town visting family and went here for the first time to have my hair cut and my highlights & lowlights touched up. My stylist was Tori and she did a fantastic job! She listened and made she knew what I wanted before she stared and it exactly what I asked for. Best color I’ve had! I’m very happy with my color and cut.

I’ve been to many salons, and find this one to be my favorite. The atmosphere is wonderful and I always feel welcomed by the entire group at Split Ends Salon. Sarah is my stylist. I trust her advice, and am completely satisfied with the results. She is amazing. I’ve also had the pleasure of having Dre and Pamela fill in for Sarah when she was on maternity leave. I have no complaints about their rates because having self-confidence is priceless.

The salon is very nice, it’s located in a convenient spot, lots of parking. I haven’t seen anyone leave with a bad hair cut. I always go to Dre, she is amazing! She listens to what I want and advises on her opinion, she colored and highlighted my hair in a way I didn’t think I would like but I love it. I hate to move because she is the first stylist I have kept coming back to. The salon is obviously more expensive than hair cuttery, but not as expensive as a salon in Baltimore or DC. I think it’s on par with what it should be.

This is listed here as a nail salon but they are primarily a hair salon. Make sure you are very clear about what you want and keep communicating with the stylist throughout. It gets very busy in here and they tend to chat with each other and do their own hair sometimes. You have to stay vocal about what it is you’re looking for, especially how much length you want taken off. However, they are good about fixing any mistakes, especially with color. My best experiences have been with Daisy.
