(Until Unilocal fixes the problem with this location, please know it is not in Houston but well over two hours north of Houston in a tiny town called Seven Oaks) Oh my goodness. Have you ever heard of Seven Oaks Texas? Well, probably not. The population is 131. Seven Oaks is North of Livingston on Hiway 59. Here, just read the Wikipedia entry on this tiny Texas town; Now, why on gods earth did I end up here, and why am I writing a review on Unilocal? It’s to get a Unilocal award for the most remote un-important location ever. Heheh! Just kidding. My brother was working for a sub-contractor of Exxon Mobil as a mystery shopper, basically doing a ghost visit of branded locations to see if they were in compliance with signage. And I am not going to say if this place was or not as that was his business. But I AM gonna tell you what I saw…(SWEET!) Since only 130 some odd people live in this«town», this place and the bar across the highway is the hot spot. I would say that the demographics at Wikipedia are pretty accurate. While my brother was in photographing the restroom(as a sub-contractor for Exxon), and while my Mom was outside photographing the gas pumps(just to help my brother), I just stood in the store and checked out the scene. To begin with, this is not a clean place, but I don’t think there would be any expectation that it should be. There were three people behind the counter, I think two worked there, and one girlfriend. And all three of these kids were drunk, drinking beer and chain smoking cigarettes. AMEN to that! America still exists! If these kids could get by with that(something you could never pull off in a large city or working for a main company), my hat is off to them. And you know, it even reeked a little bit like some pot in there. There were at least a dozen locals just hanging out, smoking, drinking open beers in the store, playing video games, making nachos and hot dogs. The restrooms were somewhat okay. Just really old. And you know, I can not say a single bad thing about this place, cause it’s a total display of American freedom and it’s people freely doing whatever the hell they feel like and to be honest that’s their town and that’s their business.
I enjoyed my visit, they were nice to me and it was fun to visit.
