Dickey’s BBQ

Our favorite go-​to barbecue place. The various meats here are always perfectly smoked, juicy and delicious. Favorites include the pork sandwich, sausage and beef. Did we mention the sides? Lots of choices: Mac and cheese, onion rings, beans, etc. etc. Yum!

Dickey’s is located on US-​59 /​I-​69 about 20 minutes north of Livingston in the small community of Seven Oaks. It shares a building with a gas station. This is a chain restaurant, where pre-​prepared food is warmed and served by friendly staff. I did watch them fry the okra upon ordering, so nothing sits under a heat-​lamp except maybe the meat. Meat isn’t smoked on site, but is good — I especially liked the spicy cheese sausage. The pulled pork was very tender too. They have three big pots of different types of barbecue sauce — sweet, spicy and original — all kept warm and ready for you to ladle on your meat. All and all not a bad place considering you’re in the middle of nowhere. I certainly will stop there again on my way through town.

I think this place is overpriced for the quanity and quality of the BBQ. Too bad because would be a convient lunch stop for me when Im in the area.

Very good brisket and the chicken is very good also. Saw the sign a few miles back and thought I would stop by and try it. Glad I stop. The brisket was very tender and had a great favor. Will be sure to stop here again.

The food was really good! I only give it 4 stars because the guy at the counter was macking hard core and it was kinda weird.

Went there during lunch with family. They were out of their daily special meat and would not substitute anything else. Chips were $ 2.25 and the store it is attached to sold larger bags for $ 1.49. Also ice cream machine was broken. 5 of us which included 1 kids meal was over $ 50.
I would skip this place and try bodacious bbq up the road.
