I keep reading reviews about the ciabatta burgers being difficult to eat… please folks use your knife and cut them in half… jeesh! The best burgers in town! it’s become a weekly habit… I must have a burger at The Emerald! the service is friendly and excellent… you must try this delightful new restaurant in Sequim.

Its OK. Asked the bartender if he could tell me about the beers on tap, e.g., ABV, IBU or at least provide a beer menu. He could do neither. However, he was a nice enough guy.

Living in San Diego I don’t get here often but I make it a point to come in when I’m here. Shane behind the bar never disappoints with the creations or the wit. I’ve had several things from the menu(most recently the sliders) and it’s all been great. If I could offer a suggestion from the customer end of the equation it would be to dig a little deeper into the french fry bag when someone orders fries. The portion of fries is rather small for the $ 5 to $ 6 depending on which you order. The Tillamook and the truffle Parmesan fries are fabulous there just aren’t enough of them especially if one of your meal mates keeps sticking their lunch hooks in and taking some. I was a little aghast at $ 13 for Man ‘N Cheese but when it arrived I saw the perfectly acceptable reason for the price. Lots of sausage and a HUGE portion in general. So good and SO worth it! I can also recommend the Pork Press highly. I’m sure the dining room is great but i head straight to the bar area because 1.) That’s where Shane is and 2.) Well, I’m a creature of habit. While you’re there try one of the specialty drinks… This trip was The Noble Knot. A whiskey concoction that was really good and I’m sorry I only had one but sadly it was time to go. I had other haunts to visit. After all, I can’t grace just ONE place with my presence when I come to town… The others would be sad.

One of the most perfect meals I have ever had. Ever. Not only was every single dish spectacular, every single *bite* of every single dish was moan-worthy. *Manhattan Seafood Chowder(clam and crab) *Chef’s Special Macaroni and Cheese(with three cheeses and anduoille sausage) *Pecan-Encrusted Brie with Burnt Caramel sauce, crostini, and apple slices *Forest Burger(Forestierre Sauce, sautéed crimini mushrooms, caramelized onions, truffle oil and swiss cheese) with Truffle Parmesan Fries *Salmon Cherryaki sandwich(salmon marinated in cherryaki sauce and adorned with mixed greens and house mango salsa) with a side of veggie chips *Blackened Prawn Martini(with chipotle oil, avocado and crostini). Beverage wise, we tried the pear ginger shrub and three of CJ’s custom cocktails. Each was fantastic. *CJ’s Sipper, aka ginger martini *a savory cocktail made with with Maker’s Mark, cilantro jalapeño and citrus shrub, two bitters and a splash of orange juice *a sweet cocktail made with whiskey, lemon shavings … and some other things. We came in at 9 p.m., thinking the restaurant closed at 11(as per the website and the front door). We had an incredible and leisurely meal and left just before 11. Though we were the only patrons in the building, we never felt rushed. Only when my sister commented about the time did our server admit the place was supposed to close at 10. Service doesn’t get any better than that. Nor does food. Nor do cocktails.

We had the Forest Burger and Fair Ground burgers. We also ordered the pub potato plate. The food tasted good. Service was also pleasant. Other folks are right when they say portions are small for the price. The price to food portion ratio is akin to what you would find in Bellevue, not a small town. Definitely good but nothing compelling.

Great burgers, the parmesan truffle fries are awesome. Gluten free noodles and gluten free buns are great for my wife!

What a sweet place! Attentive servers, good food, I had the veggie press with veggie chips on a gluten free bun. Great mix of flavors. It is welcoming in décor, nice presentation of quality food, reasonable prices. Don’t miss it is on the backside of the building. If I get back to Sequim The Emerald will be revisited.

Loved this place! I used to live in Sequim, and was delighted to discover this modern, attractive, hip and comfortable restaurant in town. Everything was fantastic, the service, the food and beverages, were consistently well done. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and freshness of all the ingredients. Highly recommended! I will be back next chance I get. :)

First time to this restaurant for lunch. We had the grilled chicken, basil, mozzarella sandwich and a grilled cheese. The sandwiches and the fries were quite good but don’t expect a very big portion. If you like decent food but not in huge quantity I would recommend this place. The vanilla ice cream for desert was excellent, especially with the home made caramel sauce on top and it’s a bargain. I would come in just for that and coffee! Our server was very efficient and friendly!

Nice looking facility, friendly staff, good locally brewed beer and root beer. Ordered the Pub Dog, which was okay – nothing to rave about – extra toppings were $ 2 each, which seems expensive. Big negative is it took 25 minutes to get a polish sausage on a bun! Do not recommend – we won’t be coming back – too expensive for what you get.

Nice décor and space and the wine pour was generous. Unfortunately it went down hill from there. We ordered Caesar salad. Good dressing but very little romaine? Chicken rice soup was a gelatinous mistake. Really poor. Blue cheese burger was on ciabatta. Bad move chef. The burger squishes out the other side as you try to bite through the tough bread. Maybe serve it with a sharp knife next time. $ 46 was probably too much to ask for what I had.

This place is amazing, especially if you have dietary restrictions or allergies. My husband has Celiac’s(no gluten) and is a vegetarian, so finding a place to eat that we both enjoy can be a challenge. Just about all of The Emerald’s menu items offer gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan substitution options. My husband ordered the mac and cheese burger, subbing a veggie patty, gluten-free bun and gluten-free pasta, with the truffle Parmesan fries. He said it was one of the best meals he’s ever had. My fish and chips were also superb. I really liked their tartar sauce which is made in house. It’s sweet with a little tang at the end. Portions were good, too. The décor is simple which we both liked. The lighting is subdued and made our booth feel cozy and secluded, even in the main dining area. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. My husband and I have already decided on coming back here in a week for our anniversary dinner, and I’m positive we’ll be back many times after, too!

I have been to this restaurant one time for lunch with my coworkers and will never go back there. Below are reasons why. 1. It took almost an hour to get food I ordered. Okay. I ordered salad bar and a cup of soup. How come it took them almost an hour to prepare those… that was just a joke. The waiter told me that salad plate was chilled. and that might be the reason for me to wait for almost an hour? Salad bar was not that good, either. It was only for a single trip but I would not want to go back after I saw what they had. Lettuce did not seem to be fresh and nothing special about other toppings. Also soup was not hot. it was warm. and I never had clam chowder that way. Again. nothing special. I would prefer canned soup to this. It was total waste of money(over $ 9 for this. seriously?) 2. Our party did not get that much attention from restaurant employees. No one near our table did not get food while all of us were waiting. And we noticed later that other table got bread for the late service. We did not get anything. 3. Quality of food was BAD. I stated above that my food was not good. And my coworkers were not happy with their food, either. Hamburger was not cooked well(also seasoning was not mixed well) and cold. fries were not hot(seriously?). steak was over cooked/dry.and as for fish and chips. they were so tiny and breading was very hard. I felt like that I was in the one episode of Foodnetwork’s «Restaurant impossible». Everyone in our party said that they would never go back. and other coworkers who heard our experience said that they would not eat at this restaurant. After the bad experience. I checked Unilocal review on this restaurant and wondered how it got 4 stars. I do not want to give any star. the only reason why I put 1 star here is it is required. –_–

Burgers and Brew on point. Have been to the Emerald Public House twice and both times the burgers were very good. The Forest Burger(topped with a mushroom/truffle concoction) is something unparalleled out on the Olympic Peninsula. The Mac Burger(topped with house made Mac n Cheese) was just the right amount of ooey gooey goodness to top off a perfectly prepared beef patty. There are countless places to find good burgers in and around Sequim, but nowhere that will rival the creativity and variety of burgers offered at the Emerald. Not to mention the rotating taps of beer on draft and the plethora of local wines! Knowing that the restaurant is so new to town the slower turnaround on orders/training of staff is to be expected. Can’t imagine how smoothly this place will be running in just a few short months, definitely worth the stop!

The Emerald is a new and classy place to enjoy a meal with friends and family. The menu is not to big yet it still has a variety of options. Call ahead for reservations on Friday and Saturday nights or you may be waiting for awhile. I have been to the Emerald a few times and the food has been very flavorful. Note they are open later than most other places in town. Enjoy.

Amazing! Truly my new favorite place to eat in Sequim. Great atmosphere, open and airy room but still intimate and cozy. Great wood accents, along with evergreen and twinkle light accentuate the northwest setting. The food is generously proportioned, and tastes to die for. We had the Forrest burger with parmesan truffle fries and chicken caprese sandwich with side salad. The burger was rich and decadent, perfectly cooked, not greasy all. The chicken was moist and tender, and the house made dressings and dipping sauces are the perfect accents to a beautiful meal. The owner Danielle is friendly, bubbly, and courteous. She was also our server, and was attentive and gave great recommendations. We will definitely be returning and will not go anywhere else in town for burgers in the future. They are also family friendly, with a kids menu that rivals any fast food joint’s prices, and a great overall experience!
